    Siriano is the first designer we learned of who was able to produce wowing clothing for all ages and shapes. His designs never appear to overshadow the human being wearing them, but to augment them in a synergistic way.

      EXCEPT HE'S NOT! designing for "all ages and shapes" How many petite sized models do you see? How many over age 40? Over age 30? THAT IS JUST THE PHONIEST, SELL POINT.

    According to Tim Gunn, Jay did not take the money because the contract stated that he would have to give 15 percent of "ANY" earnings to the Weinstein Group. So even if he worked at McDonald's, he would be required to give them 15 percent. That was changed the next season.

    • @miltownusa
      @miltownusa ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Did not know this about Jay. So glad he stood his ground for someone as despicable as Weinstein. Even if it caused him to be Homeless. I would have done the same thing.

    Regarding Jay - Tim Gunn said he and Jay were going over the contract from Weinstein. The % Jay would have to give over to Weinstein included any money Jay would make for the rest of his life. Tim told Jay not to sign the contract. That's the rest of the story that's never told.

    • @miltownusa
      @miltownusa ปีที่แล้ว

      Another minion of Satan--Weinstein. Hollyweird and the music industry ALL sell their souls to the devil. FACT. Look up Bob Dylan and whose contract he signed.

    I never understood -- given her questionable taste level -- why Heidi Klum was a judge alongside Nina Garcia and Michael Kors. Heidi always seemed to judge based on what she herself would wear, which was always linked to how much skin would be shown. I suppose since she was executive producer of the show, she was in a position to make herself a judge whether she deserved to be or not.

    Not just jay's money from fashion would go to weistein. The contract stated clearly that all future earnings of jays would be docked the percentage to kick back to weinstein. Which means any income that he was to have would be docked considerably.Tim Gunn has spoken very openly about this and was the one that told j not to sign.

      @shmwmlam3953 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@gojewlasorry my point was he likes what he is doing. What is "suck" relative to people. For example people think I suck because after double degree, masters and a very good paying job I decided to stay at home. I was also a designer. Now I stay at home and all the "designing" I do is making pajamas for me and my husband and for my cats. Sounds sad isn't it? But not for me. I am.happier than I was ever been. I hated always being busy, always chasing after money and fame, always fearing business would fail, or someone hate my designs..etc. also fashion industry is really cut throat. I couldn't even trust my friends. But now it is really liberating. Idk what my peers are doing. Idk I am not rich. I am very happy making clothes for me and my cats and enjoying life.
      May be also for Seth it could be money or freedom Mermaid tail is his thing.

      @@shmwmlam3953 I doubt it. He had passion.

    • @shmwmlam3953
      @shmwmlam3953 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gojewla yes. "Had" but he may lost it. I can understand if he did. I was pretty much passionate about my designing I left my high paying bank job and went back to fashion school. I used all my money for classes and make it in fashion world in my country. Then I started to see I am not fit to the industry as I hoped so. I am very introverted, not a party girl. But you need those things to get connections and promote stuff. But I still pushed for sometime because of the money and time spent. Also I left everything in my previous life when everyone said it is a bad idea. I wanted to show them I was right. I was slowly getting it but I was not happy. I hate promoting myself, I barely post anything in my social media. I rarely take a selfie. So to change in something totally different was really hard. Finally I realised it is not worth it. It is ok to turn back if path is wrong no matter how far you went. Unless you will be just wasting more time and money while being unhappy.
      I am still love design so I do create something from time to time. But I never actively seek projects but people who got things done from me come seek for me. I ony accept if I really enjoy the project and work only with people I enjoy working. Luckily my husband is rich so I dont have to force myself to work haha.
      I don't know Seth Aron is feeling the same or he just went for the money and security. I understand his choice.
      Oops sorry for the long reply. It just I saw me through him
