I'm curious if you could go back to plant education content sometimes. Like differences between like plants (caramel marble vs ring of fire), and what to look for when plant shopping, etc. Love your channel, but I have tons of plant questions and there's not always a ton of answers.

Dude, you're going to be better off finding a local plant shop that you can build a relationship with; and then you can network with others who have more knowledge. Or join a Facebook group, I'm sure your questions have been asked before and been answered.
There's so many choices that don't involve waiting for Kaylee to either have time, see your message, and hoping someday she'll answer. Asking Kaylee to cater to your needs is not cool, she's got content SHE wants to make, and _thousands_ of people asking questions. If you had other contacts, your plants could get the care they need ASAP.
@@ophilianecr relax. I'm not demanding her to take care of my needs. I'm in the Facebook groups, and I tend to shop local. However, the shops in my area don't specialize in rare/exotic plants, and there's so much misinformation on the Facebook groups I'm in (and I'm on social media less and less).
IF she were wanting to take a suggestion on new content, this would be mine. My plants don't need care 🤣 they're doing great. Kaylee specializes in rare plants and seems to really know what she's doing. If she were to want to take plant questions, that would be cool. If not, she won't. But you need to relax, it's Friday and we don't have time for negativity.

Kaylee, I want to add: I am an old, American woman. I am not fancy, never have been. I saw in you from day one, a down to Earth, honest person. (with a good sense of humor!) And you ALWAYS have had confidence and presence. I know the type of people that do these things. They are cowards. They are followers. They are mobs-they won't have an opinion without a mob behind them that 100% agree with them. Mostly, they are willfully ignorant, and I am so glad you have fully realized it. You are right-they got the opposite of what they wanted-a better you, a more successful you. I believe you and I could have been good friends in another life. There is no community more toxic than the horse community. Not all of it but a lot of it is like you said people with more money than manners. The best thing to do is to know that when it comes to horses there will ALWAYS be someone who says you are doing it wrong, you have to tune them all out and listen to your horse, your vet, and your gut.

Sure, I’m jealous sometimes of people who can afford plants that I can’t pay for at the moment. But there must be something seriously wrong with people who take it out on someone else. I often feel that when people say, “they’re just jealous,” it’s a bit disingenuous & a way for them to avoid discovering their own contribution to a situation. I grew up riding horses and competing. I was top level in my area but I got pregnant at 16 and my parents kicked me out so I had to sell my horse. I have never been able to ride again since, I am 30 now and I love my house plants so much, its my number 1 hobby, but I fantasize about my dream life where I have outdoor space for plants and a horse again. I am excited to get to watch you through your horse journey

But I wont ever get back those young teenage years doing horse shows with my girlfriends. I could show again but its not the same as hanging out with your barn friends as a teen / young adult.
I was watching this whole plant auction and honestly I quoted your last repot video to all the people in my Facebook group “even if it was enough money to change your life?” ALSO. You touched on ferrari- I put something along those lines in my plant groups. Wealthy people are allowed to have hobbies and spend money on their hobbies. They pay their bills and how other people spend their money isn’t your business.
I'm one of those individuals who came here because someone was hating on you and ended up a subscriber of your channel. Last year, on several Facebook groups, your name kept coming up and I finally figured I needed to see who this horrible Kaylee was. I'm so glad to see your growth because one of the first videos I saw was of you reacting to the social media hate regarding the price of Hoya rising. Kaylee, I have a crush on you, so I think I’m biased - but let me just say- you absolutely do not deserve the amount of hate you receive. You are kind, caring, compassionate, smart, honest, loyal. I’m on a few different houseplant groups and they are the nastiest people I have ever met. Some people I have met have been some of the most incredible people. But the rare houseplant people are effing vicious. They will price shame and turn around to sell for higher. They will tell you your plant has a virus when you try to sell something with variegation but then sell the “sport” (aka single spot) they found for 2x what you would have sold your own for. They send hate. They’re jealous of anyone doing well. They complain about houseplant prices for certain plants, especially if costa farms has some coming out, but will gladly sell their variegated burle Marx or albo for $500, which is just as common tbh. They’re angry if someone gets a plant they want so they tell you how stupid you were for paying the price you paid - especially if it was on auction, just to beg for a cutting for $50. Just keep doing the amazing things you are doing and living your best life. You came from the same place we all did. You sat at home amd started out with the wishlist plants that are common or uncommon and you worked your ass off to get to where you are. Fuck haters. I pray you are able to let it roll off of your back, take constructive criticism when it’s necessary but the rest of them can fuck right off. You’re

It’s been super useful along the time, I am happy things have gone so well for you, definitely seeing your journey as an entrepreneur and developing niche knowledge on a topic has been interesting, and I totally empathize with the horror the internet is, hence I never even left a comment good or bad, but finally I am going to say something maybe unpopular… yes there are trolls on the internet and you get a lot of heat from a lot of idiots and probably you react or comment only one of thousands of that silly crap coming your way but… I am slowly getting tired of what I perceive (purely my view) as you stating you don’t care and who gives an f and so on and so on across channels. I agree with everything in this comment, and unfortunately I already knew what Kaylee was going to say when I saw she replied to it. A lot of TH-camrs end up going down this path - how many hundreds upon hundreds of nice comments with 0 criticism are there on this video? But they will always find the 1-2 comments that have constructive criticism. Very rarely is it disrespectful as well. It's getting predictable at this point
@@poppycwilson this is so true sadly, not a word about the positive feedback/love send their way. It’s always just defensive comments reacting to any sort of feedback/constructive criticism. “Not a good look” to quote Kaylee’s reply under another “negative comment” under the video…If you do not care then ignore it and focus on what makes you happy. There are a lot of supportive fans, including me. But accepting the criticism is part of everyone’s journey I guess. At the moment it just seem a bit bitter.

@poppy ah well… after shopping at her shop, following her for a long time, first comment I ever make because there is no other more personal way to approach her I got that reaction. I am a bit disappointed, but what can you do? As you say it was expected and expecting something different was a bit naive of me. She will do what she wants, she is in her right and likely at some point I will get bored and stop watching which is my right too, because I love plants more than the internet drama for a Friday night after a super busy week because she is not the only one with a hard life dealing with prejudice and lots of nosy people that judge in an unfounded and unproductive way. Would a different reaction keep me engaged for longer? Very likely. I don’t see me telling friends to follow her when we meet in parties as they go through my collection anymore. My memory of her is now that I tried to give constructive feedback and I was told to get lost… why support a business that does that to you? That’s my right too, to which I expect the reaction would be that I should go ahead watch whatever I want and go f* myself… I hope Mick Mittermeier and those folks share more of their adventures once… I miss the actual plant content :(
Haters are so funny. A great way to contribute to a content creators failure is to give them zero attention. And instead they talk about you, post about you, watch your videos (giving you ad revenue and adding to your viewer count), etc.

Funny, I have been a horse girl for ages and have only recently dived into plants, now those two things get merged sort of... ;)
Just because you are sort of a horse-owning beginner as it sounds and you said you have to take care of your back a bit, I wanted to hint you in the direction of "Riding Art" (sorry, I'm German, so I don't know the exact terms). It's basically a more horse friendly approach to riding and training (but in no way this "native bareback horse hippie" thing) and in my opinion it is the most pleasing thing to do with your horse as well as to watch. You can do it with any horse and it's not more difficult than "normal" training", just different. It really gets you and your horse into a lovely connection and from what I saw until now, all horses "retrained" in the riding arts where so thankful about it. It also is more based on the actual phisiology of the horse and makes sure your horse will be healthy until very old age. The only problem is, in some (sport) stables you will be eyed on a lot and given unasked advise all the time, because they don't understand what you are doing. But if you can stand that, it is the most satisfying journey.
Some modern people in this field would be Bent Branderup, Anja Beran, Philippe Karl, Richard Hinrichs... And there is the "Old masters" to know, Duke of Newcastle, Gueriniere etc.
I just wanted to drop that because I often see that people who get grown into this "standard horse school" never get to know this other style even exists and when they finally find out they re like "What have I been doing all those years?"

I am dying to both see your horse and learn his name. :) Geldings are really special. As far as all that shit goes, I don't think some people really hear themselves. If you say what you are typing out loud, and then imagine saying those words out loud to a stranger sitting next to you, it starts to look a little different. I am sorry the world can be so ugly, but I'm very glad you can tune that noise out.

I just want to say I appreciate your videos and you so much. I can not comprehend for the life of me why people give you so much hell. I remember the first video I saw of yours…. . I was in a super dark place slightly out of my mind. My partner had died about ten days before and in a haze I purchased a demon string of pearls in the grocery store. I remember four days in it dropping all the little pearls and me being like wth? So I googled plant care and for some reason you came up in a video suggestion. The video had nothing to do with string of pearls so not sure why it was suggested. In plague times living in the Pacific Northwest apparently when your spouse dies people knock on your door and run off leaving wine, the devils lettuce and rotisserie chicken. I may or may not have been partaking in all of the above when you came up on my screen. Here you were this tiny blond with this huge heart shaped smexy assed leaf up by your head and I thought “great gods she’s shrunk her head” then I realized the leaf was just huge ( like I said devils lettuce) and I fell in love with the plant and your videos. You introduced me to the plant world on TH-cam. I now own a few hundred plants and have watched probably all your videos. To be honest I credit you for helping pull me out of a dangerously low place. You helped create in me a passion for something when I saw nothing but darkness and it pulled me out . Thank you. Keep your head up.

Totally not sure if I can explain this right but what if you hung black light wires from the ceiling and had just bulbs hanging at different heights all in front of the wall. I know I’ve seen this for like a rustic chandelier over a table before but I think it could look cool.
