Bankruptcy court will not be able to protect them much since this is considered a malicious and intentional tort. Even if they file for bankruptcy, they'll still owe money to the photographer. Also, the Moldovan most likely have assets (at least a home). They cannot get to keep everything and just file for bankruptcy.
Technically, they could still keep their home, but there will be a lien on it. They will never be able to sell it without giving up any profits (price - remaining mortgage) to the photographer.
So yea, they're kind of screwed.

As a young wedding photographer in the 70's I learned a tough lesson. NEVER SHOOT A WEDDING for a lawyers daughter. Tried to cheap-out and get the proofs only. After 2 years in court,I finally capitulated, and just handed over the negatives that I had freshly washed, the re-fixed for permanence, without rinsing........:-)~

    • @charlesg7926

  • @C---M

Look at her pictures, she puts her heart and soul into them, to have people try to destroy you after you capturing their wedding is crushing. And let's be honest: who in their right minds gets married and as a honeymoon tries to destroy the woman who captured your wedding? The first thing they did as a couple, you have to be pretty off the rails to go on a powertrip like that.
This is not just turning on a camera and taking a few calculated snaps, this is opening up to people and try to catch the mood, this is how you become more than just a snapshot photographer. So it is very personal and if people try to run you into the ground, you just can't get much more personal. Hurray for Andrea.

We all think are moms are the best chefs on earth, yet how likely are they to be paid/famous for their cooking? Everyone has cameras now, so technically they are photogs. Everyone also has a kitchen, access to a basketball court, paint & canvas, etc... How many are good enough to make a living? Very few. The work the couple wanted only cost $150,it's now cost them $1,000,000 plus legal fees. People should have been suspicious when the words "holding their photographs hostage" were thrown into the mix. This type of emotionally charged language is often used to divert attention away from the truth; they breached their contract by failing to pay for the remainder of her services.
The couple decided to go to social media rather than trading standards, by using social media, you are identifiable and in the public domain. What this means is that because the public sees those comments and the interview;they can be used in court so long as both lawyers follow disclosure rules

The couple could've just talked it through privately but no!!! They wanted people to sympathize to them and now look what happened. Instead of paying thousands you get to pay a million. You defamed someone when you know you're in the wrong side of it. You destroyed and took something she worked hard for. You deserve what you got. This only proves that not everything should be posted online especially when you know you're wrong.

the problem is they couple that owes her 1Mil is poor AF, unless they magically come into money by abusing other businesses and being cheap, there's no way that woman is ever going to get the money and status she deserves.

Harry McNeice the part you are missing is that your buddies did their best to destroy someone. They either didn't like how many pictures they got or they just didn't want to pay. If you are dumb enough to run your mouth and put it on the internet then they deserve to pay 1 million dollars. I would have to say you may want to consider an apology or hiding for what you said.

      You’re missing the fact.
She doesn’t care about the money (she does) but she prefers her dreams, passion and reputation over cash. Imagine if you were backlashed from something you didn’t do! It’s hard to take back what’s originally yours.

Life's a bitch Haha! Next time read the contract and fill out the stupid form before making a stink. What's she supposed to do, sit back while he business is in pieces because some a-hole couple didn't want to abide by the terms they agreed too. Stick it up your ass.

The photographer's studio proved that she made $750,000 a year. After the slanders, she basically lost her business (at least for two years). So $1 million is actually a very small amount considering.

John Lennon (aka Andrew Moldovan), karma found you, you ruined the photographer's business, so it's your turn to pay up now. Keep creating fake accounts to try to gain sympathy. Nobody is feeling sorry for you Andrew or Neely.
