If anyone here doubts about Mads's acting talent, i advise him to watch the movie "The Hunt" ! This actor is just staggering !! He knows how to transmit a lot of emotions (or Hannibal 😏 WE WANT A SEASON 4 )

That kind of attitude, commitment and dedication is what every director desires in an actor.
A totally brilliant movie. Not over done, not overly sentimental. Just a snap shot of one man trying to weather some of the harshest elements imaginable , plus a great tale about what it means to be human and our determination to survive.
This movie didn't get the recognition that it deserved. I have religiously watched all the Mads works, and I can confidently say that as difficult as it is to choose, his performance in this movie is one of his top 5 (the others being Jagten, Druk, A royal affair, and Open Hearts IMHO). The movie itself is also great. I am not a big fan of survival movies and initially watched this one because of Mads, but it turned out to be much more than that. I have recommended it to many people and will keep doing so.

Mads Mikkelsen is an amazing actor, but I often find that i can't watch his movies because he is too good 😅 in movies like The Hunt and Salvation his character goes through such horrific experiences that i can't watch it. It'd be easier if he was worse at acting, because then you wouldn't get so invested, but because he's able to portray horror and grief so well, you totally buy it and it feels like you're watching a man have his life torn apart for real 😅
I laughed like a child when he did the Skype impression 😂

This movie was great, and I has no idea it was a "first time" director, or that he has the same chill but enthusiastic approach to his film career that Mads appears to. What a fantastic combo! (I've heard Mads compliment this script in other interviews too)

The fucking weird and low budget movies Mikkelsen does... Including in his home country where "low budget" is like 1% of an American low budget film... Even after he became a known name in Hollywood.
I don't understand why he'd be on the "never gonna happen"-list?
Pretty sure he's the kind of actor that does it for the experience those unusual films/roles provide. It's not only about the money.
Even knowing the final outcome of the story, this was a rivetting.

Unless you’ve been living under a internet rock the past year or so. You would know joe penna is mysteryguitarman TH-cam personality. And he casted Mads mikkelsen for a movie called arctic which ended up in the Cannes film festival and even nominated for an award there.
