  • shingle ramp to raise shingle to the top of the roof. A shingle ladder/ramp, makes it easy. This system uses a minimal amount of wood , and assembly, I used 2x12 x 16 and 2x6 x10 The 2x6s are used to connect the 2x12 and as a guide for the cart.

    I've seen plenty of videos on how to make a lift but your is the simplest. I like simple. I like your design and video. Even a Caveman can build one. thanks.

    The video is about the ramp and cart device not the entire roofing job. Yall are breaking his balls because his solution is slick and effective. Nice ramp and system brother. Roofing sucks!!!

      Imagine using this device with weight as the force in a pulley or counter balance system instead of modern winch. (Ancient Pyramid method)

      not really. i mean who loads them? you're telling me loading that thing and then climbing up the roof to pull them up unload them drop it down climb back down load it again and repeat is slick? maybe if he carried a bundle up with him everytime he went back up then yes!

    That’s great-people become very creative when faced with adversity. Nicely done sir.If you were to do this for a living I’d say get the electric wench and a car battery and you’ll really be in business

    I made one. But my starting point up is not on the ground but starts at 5 feet on 2x4 supports from the side of the ramp. I use a power winch instead of a drill for faster travel. The cart is similar.

    This looks like the easiest and simplest design I've seen! Might have to give this a try.. 64 bundles to move.

      I like to keep it simple, this ramp will get them to the top of the roof not the edge like most shingle ladders. Ramp it up,

      I can get it put on the roof in town but not out here on the lake on a hill.....The cottage is on a lake near a small town 40 minutes to a hard ware store. The truck unloaded on the main road and come in with a wide load forklift just to make it down the lane way. In town I always get them delivered onto the roof.

    You could use a block and tackle rig to pull the cart up, that's what I did 10 years ago.

    You need to have someone at the bottom to load the cart

    I need stairs on the other side so the wood was used for that after. 2 2x12x16, qty 3 2"x6" not much wood at all dude.
    Have you ever carried a bundle up a ladder? This is the easiest design

    • @JonCcaron
      @JonCcaron 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Load them while you lay them. Once and done. Your not really making it any easier on yourself physically and certainly not saving yourself any time. This is equivalent to playing with yourself. Lol

      rather think then hurt my back, this is the simplest way to get shingles up to the top of the roof given tthe situation.
      don't tell me you would have just taken them up yourself?

    Bigger gear faster ascent

    • @TRIPONTHIS
      @TRIPONTHIS  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very true but then I will need more power, that's why my battery drill did not work.
      So yes I could get a bigger gear ratio but then my drill may not do the job.

    • @adventurefishing3190
      @adventurefishing3190 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Trip on THIS ! Actually it will require less pwer

    • @TRIPONTHIS
      @TRIPONTHIS  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ok So take a bike in first gear you go slow but it's easy, slow movement but easy less power, 10 th gear you go fast but it's hard to do. faster but hard more power. Just think of a car that takes less power to go faster.
