great idea! eye bolts instead of U bolts i think ill use just to save drilling so many holes in an already fairly lightweight metal. Thanks for the inspiration!

If it fits in the fire scape you can take up a fridge to the porch.
I would load the fridge in a hand truck or two-wheeler, whatever you call it, then put it in the hoist, when it gets to the top of the stairs just move in.

Consider a upgrade modification. Add up and down limit switches to prevent self destruction. Overall you did a nice job!

i thikn people overcomplicate this thing. i would start with square section and just keep the hoist and ladder two separate things

I hope you put a piece of plywood as a backboard, so if the load shifts it doesn't get caught between the rungs,

Good suggestion. I’ve only used if for full sheets of sheathing. It hasn’t been an issue yet.

Thank you for the quick reply. I looked on Amazon, before and i couldn't find any casters with the threaded shaft to mount that way. I bought a set of 4 fixed wheels because the sled was bumping the lower ladder when traveling UP.
If my present wheels don't work, I will try these items you used.
