  • Purpose:
    -Retired, replacing roof by myself.
-Quality the issue, not time, taking weeks, not days.
-Keeps material out of the way until needed.
-At my age, trying to prevent back injuries (roofing material weight: 5 tons).
-New roof 1/2 the cost vs. contractor (better materials).
PS: Used old treadmill to construct. My cost: approx. $100 (lumber, screws, pulleys). If you can use this information great, if not, move on.

If I hadn't already built mine, a plain delivery model as I have a Son helping, I'd figure a way to incorporate your genius. My lift spans ~40'. I've got 43+ square to do, 174 bundles, plus all the other materials. Well done Sir.

A very beautiful design! Love the auto-drop you created at the top. Also, thank you for the various camera angles highlighting the components too. Thank you for sharing.

I like how it drops the bundles about 3 feet above the roof. That way when you go to pick it up, you don’t have to bend over.

Excellent design! I bet if you drew up plans and were a reasonable price they would sell for sure.

    Very well engineered and constructed.
My only complaint is the hoist is very slow.
No way that stop block would handle 4 bundles, they would scatter on the roof.

He already said it worked fine for 4 bundles, but who cares? If he’s working alone, does he really need to load more than one or two at a time? No.

I'm worried about the brace against the bricks. Not many wall ties up that high and that sudden slap when your hinge opens. Otherwise Awesome.

Great detail and I'm wondering if you to install taller pulley wheels if that would speed things up? I'm not a math person by any means and I'm always impressed with others via TH-cam 😉 great job 😎

I was lifting 4 at a time (320 lbs). Speed was not an issue for this project. Thanks for you comment.

only problem is it will take 10 years to get your shingles to the roof. just buy a shingle lift and be done in minutes.

Vguarino51 😂 He can lift 4 at a time I think by the time those were loaded he would have 4 more up there.

Speed isn’t the point and it offers no advantage to someone working alone to go any faster.

Maybe Roofing is not for you

    • @mikezaloudek4893
      @mikezaloudek4893 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Why? Because he’s working smarter not harder. He’s replacing one roof, not roofing.
