- We Find an incredible travel deal to Varadero Cuba in the 2nd Week of December and decide to Check It Out. The Resort is very big, the Coffee bar was great and the Nativa beach resort was a total Surprise. We enjoyed our Stay even though there were the typical Cuban issues.

Thank you so much for your honest review of this resort. We just upgraded to the Alegance room based on your video. I was getting worried based on some recent TripAdvisor reviews but your videos have given me a renewed confidence with my choice. Sad to hear about the lack of seating at the beach and pool but I'm sure we'll manage. We are aware of the expectations to have in Cuba and appreciate your take!

The lobby and Mike’s coffee and the grounds are beautiful!!!
The food quality at the main buffet wasn’t great when we were there!!!
But that might change!!!

Just got home from there.. Lots of familiar faces of the staff in the video. We had a great time. Sure there are shortages but all in all it was great. Mike's coffee bar was my favorite. We did not upgrade, but if you can get it for a great price it probably wouldn't be a good idea. They do not have face cloths or hand towels so if you want those bring it.

God willing, today is not the same disaster it was at that time. The food was very good and quality, I'm not complaining about that.

Hi there, I’m going to Varadero in 3 weeks does anyone have suggestions on what to bring or things they wish they had while there? Also I know they say not to drink the water but what about ice is it safe to use in drinks? Thank you!

The beach lunch was our favourite place for food
I highly recommend springing for the Privledge section…the rooms are beautiful, and there is a private al la carte restaurant to have breakfast, lunch and dinner on the terrace near there beach. The private pool and elevated bar service makes your stay more relaxed and private. It’s lovely.

If you like ketchup, bring ketchup incase they are out (or whatever preferred condiment). Also keep watching more Finding Fish episodes for more tips. Maybe they have been where you're planning on going. I'm not sure how much more difficult it is for US citizens tho. I think there is just a little more paperwork/online documents. But the beaches, the people were fantastic. It was great value for my trip and had a great time, but i knew before hand to not have high expectations and was pleasantly surprised when those lowered expectations were exceeded. There is just more room for some errors there than in a richer country, but they do what they can, the best that they can.

Friends, I tell you that I was there in August 2022 and I had a very bad experience, they had to change my room three times, I was without a face towel for several days, the Club Hause It was closed and changing the beach towels was an odyssey, in the lobi bar there were not enough glasses, I swear it was a very bad experience that almost cost me a divorce. Cockroaches on the tables and Buffet floors, it is better not to continue.
Things do change- sorry for your experience.

If there are no Bugs in my room I will be disapointed. 😂 I was in Cuba 12 years ago and the sand fleas loved me.😮 and a couple lizards climbing the walls. 😂 Haha I can't wait. It's all part of the Adventure.
Not sure if you are not working for travel company. Just returned back from Cuba with Air Canada: no eggs, no vine, no soda. Just rum and cigars. Not a vacation. Go to Mexico!

Cuba is not for everyone
I actually was watching you review of Cayo Coco Memories Flamenco resort before buying Air Canada vacation to this resort (previously we were travelling to Mexico, Dominican Republic, Bahamas etc). The beach is OK and room is dated as you told. This is not a problem. However, what was missing in your video that corruption and bribes are extreme in Cuba: servers in restaurant told us that they have no vine for dinner. BUT: for 10 dollars they can find half bottle. In one week I spent more than 200 dollars to get some service, which is essential in other countries. Overall trip expenses with these "tips", were same as going to much better resort in Mexico. Point is: you have to spent LOOTS of money in Cuba to stay "normal". Why in your videos you are not showing how much money are you giving in tips to get good coffee and vine in Cuba?
