Same with us. The beaches are fantastic but the food shortages and variety is what keeps us away. It is disingenuous to suggest it just "picky" people who have a problem.

Brockville!!!!I spent many summers in Brockville and that area growing up as a kid!!!! Like we said about this resort the Beach Lunch is awesome for food quality we found. Buffet was okay, might be better now because of bigger budgets, but for the price we couldn’t complain. Upper floor would be better in my opinion!!!in a updated room!!!! We did have fun there!!!! Enjoy!!!!
Well if you're ever through the area shoot us a line and we'll join ya for a brew ;) We are book in for the upgrade as part of our package- definitely will be asking for a room on the second floor. Biggest concern is that we have been hearing reports of bed bugs- but what I have researched is saying it is very rare for BB in Cuba.. anything you can add would be fantastic. Great videos. I checked this place out on tripcentral. Leaving from Toronto. Prices are $800 and up. I still think this is a great price, but I was wondering where you are getting pricing like that.

We will be arriving at 9:30am in Varadero. Also how far is VRA to the resort? Can you also go outside the resort for a walk. I’m a new subscriber btw, my husband and I just watched almost all of your videos in one seating 😂 Thank you!
Can't book the restaurant until you get there and check in. And yes you can walk anywhere off the resort and even talk the bus into town for 5US dollars
I really miss Cuba but after the last experience we had in 2022 we decided to have a break ( we had a bad experience in Aug at Playa Cayo Santa Maria - dirty, crowded, recycled food, shortages, unpolite locals resulted in us being sick with tourists for 4 days and the covid when we got home)😏
Just my 2 cents, as a "veteran" traveler of Cuba, my one piece of advice is NEVER stay at a resort managed by Cuban operators. Playa Cayo Santa Maria is managed by the Cuban group Gavioto S.A. Playa Cayo Santa Maria used to be run by the Spanish firm Sirenis. It was once called Sirenis Cayo Santa Maria. Stick with resorts that are foreign managed (I.e. Melia, Iberostar, Memories, etc.). Not to sound too negative, but the Cuban managed resorts are : run by a skeleton staff, lack maintenance, tend to be unkempt, and even during the best of times suffer shortages. Also, at the risk of sounding derogatory, the Cuban managed hotels tend to be occupied by less than cultivated "locals" as guests. The foreign managed & operated resorts (I.e Melis, Iberostar, Memories) are just better.
Is there much difference between 3, 4 or 5 star resorts in Cuba? Come to think of it I don't think I've seen a 5 star on the Sunwing website. It's new to me never booked an all inclusive package before or been to Cuba. Thanks for all your videos, I've learned allot
was there from 20 march to 3 april, 4 days with eggs and bacon , same with butter, after no more for the rest of holidays, the public bathroom in very poor condition a lot are broke, they dont repair, toilet paper almost never in public toilettes, will never go back, viva mexico

Love your videos....I miss Cuba but I'm concerned about the shortages. Not certain if we'll be back this year.

5 star in Cuba is a 3 star in North America. The beaches are usually 5 star though :)
