I appreciate what you're doing and hello from another person in the dfw area!

    Hey Scott! Hope all is well in your world. A few videos back you demonstrated the use of ultimate fast finish and I’ve started to use my can of it on my leather. I don’t use it every time I detail the interior, but I would say once every other month or so. I noticed it helps with the maintaining of the surface, especially with stains and fluids. I recently received a compliment last week of how new my car seats look and felt and my guests were amazed that my vehicle is a year old still. If I have a few stains to soiled spots, I will use Griots Interior Cleaner (it’s like a APC in my opinion). But if I just need a quick maintenance wipe, I’ll go for either Griot’s Interior Detailer or Meguiar’s Interior Cleaner and I will apply UFF.

    Thanks! Having Katzkin leather seats installed in my new Palisade right now and was looking for tips on how to care for them. According to Katzkin's site, they recommend not using any special cleaners or conditioners. I think I'll use your method here to prevent issues. I already have a hydrophobic treatment from Chemical Guys that should work and I'll just add the clear coat protector. Cheers!

    Ty again for posting all these videos. By any chance do you have a vid or videos already in your archives that deal with a one step or one stage painted vehicle. Have a friend whos 89 vet has been repainted with a single stage or single step paint job which is very thick. The last guy really screwed the paint up its nothing but a swirl frenzy on the paint now. I did the hood a month ago and had a butt load of paint transfer. Im just looking for some tips on what to do and watch out for on single step or single stage after market paint jobs. Thanks for any help.

    I’ve been putting lotion or conditioner on my seats since I owned my car. I guess maybe a few times I’ve skipped on it. Now I’ve got a few wrinkles in the leather. Is there a good way to reduce the appearance of the worn leather, or is it best to get it replaced? It’s just the main areas where you would usually rub against a seat to get in and out. I’ve heard heat may work, but I tried steam, and that really didn’t do much.

    Hello Scott. Now looking back, do you think that meguiar's hybrid paint coating could make a better leather coating than ultimate fast finish?. To see if it would stay in a matte shade like ultimate fast finish?!.. Another thing that works very well on rubber, plastic and leather is Meguiar's paint protect 365! A very good matte finish.

  • @dcarrstar7719

    A question Scott that has me thinking... Would it make sense to layer this method the same way you would on paint... i.e. Meguiar's Ultimate FF 1st(base layer), followed by the Protectall "Wax"? The same way this combo works I do a ton of testing and experimenting myself with products to mainly make them last and stretch while still producing top quality results for paying customers that trust in you to pamper and deliver miracle results every time. I assume Meguiar's XPress Spray Wax in place of ProtectAll would work also. I subscribe to a lot of you guys and Darren of Auto Fetish Detail uses Meg's XPress Spray Wax all over vehicles inside and out like you use ProtectAll. So I'm thinking with both being Meguiar's products, the FF topped with XPress Spray Wax would work as well. Your thoughts if you care to chime in.

    • @jimicwpiratepatrolagent4249
      @jimicwpiratepatrolagent4249 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      kikcodog Because they are a finished leather product,they are made weather resistant /proof from factory..it certainly helps,much like putting wax on your vehicle (contains carnauba wax)so you get a layer of protection and hydrophobic action,plus a great shine. I would imagine it helps protect against salt staining as well. You can use this stuff on just about everything except fabrics,I even use it on my eye glasses.

    • @kikcodog
      @kikcodog 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      So, it's got enough carnauba in it to keep the leather from wetting? Much like applying a bee's wax? Typical way I treat shoes, coats, etc that aren't waterproofed from the maker is to warm the leather so the pores open and apply a bee's wax or similar paste wax and rub it into the leather or be lazy and use 3M scotchgard leather spray...Typically shoes and garments are dyed not coated so they will absorb water if not treated.

      Luxury detail Car care ...CarPro is on the expensive side, so Scott will probably not review it. That said, I can give a top tip...buy CarPro Ech2o and it will change your life! Makes an outstanding waterless wash, rinseless wash, quick detailer and clay lube. Hope this helps😎

      ehhh scott doesnt always use cheaper products. He definitely has products that are on the higher side of pricing. Perhaps he'll review some stuff from carpro. I really love Carpro Essence personally

    I believe the leather has a urethane coating from the factory.

    Out of all the dumb shit I watch on youtube on a daily I come across this detailing leather and and actually gained some knowledge. I had no clue about the windshield yet companies still sell dash protection and everything else because that;s what we been fed all these years. It reminds me of people that have that stupid mindset they need to change their oil on a new car every 3k miles even though the manual says 7k-15k . Thanks for the vid I learned something today imagine that.

    A glass window blocks UV rays, that's why a "Transition" type glasses do not darken in a vehicle. I never saw "how to make a great leather protectant" you showed us commercial products.

    Basically your leather has a clear coat on it now. That's what your actually treating. I think once it gets to the "leather part" you're to late
