Hello Canucks! My husband and I were on this cruise, and in fact were on this excursion in Aruba. At 4:21 you can see us on the right - me in light blue tank, husband Niles in white short sleeves. And we show up in the background a couple more times - even on the beach. Yes, it was an awesome excursion. We love snorkeling. This was our first Holland America cruise and we loved it, and are in fact already booked on another. Over the years we have cruised a total of 12 times, but plan to go more frequently in the future. Any time we travel anywhere we do research on many various TH-cam channels, so when we saw you on the catamaran we recognized your name. After we got home we really got into watching your channel. At first we watched this vlog to see if we could see ourselves, (lol) but then we watched each day of this particular cruise, which led to us watching more and more of your vlogs. You are hands down our favorite because you like the same types of cruise activities that we do. Enjoying the food, relaxing on sea days, drinks before, during and after dinner, productions shows and live music venues. I particularly love that Jill enjoys trying all the different cocktails at the different bars. (Girl after my own heart!) It also explains why our closest encounter on the catamaran was when Jill was looking for the end of the line to get a drink at the bar. If I had known then what I know now I totally would have introduced myself! Anyway, I just wanted to say that we appreciate your vlogs which are both fun and informative (with information that we can relate to!). Keep up the good work, and if you ever do decide to do a group cruise as mentioned in a recent blog, we would love the opportunity.

Looks like a fun day! We saw yesterday that HAL’s Pinnacle class ships are all slated to get non-smoking casino areas installed during their next dry docks! We’re not big gamblers, but we’re still excited!
Nice to see some fellow Canucks enjoying Aruba. My wife and I don't do any cruising but we've been to Aruba 3 times so far. Our destination of choice when it comes to vacations. We usually just fly straight there and try to stay as long as we can. The first time it was only for a few days, the second time it was for a week, the third time it was for 2 weeks. I'm aiming for a whole month on our next trip. That's at least a couple years away though. In our estimation Aruba is the premiere destination and Canucks appreciate it more than anyone since we have to endure such harsh winters in our own country. Lovely vlog.
@@CruisingCanucks We go for a different AirBnB every time. No one particular place every time. Whatever is available for the time frame we're there. As for the flight, it's an hour and a half from Nova Scotia to Toronto, then a 6 hour flight from Toronto to Aruba. It makes for a very long day, but worth it in the end. Looking forward to going again someday. The minute you step off the plane and hit with a wall of warmth with palm trees swaying in the distance, it's paradise to me.

Lol-hubby and I share an email, so this is Barb, the official cruise researcher for the family!! We did that same excursion when on the Nieuw Statendam this year and really enjoyed it as well.
We had booked a cruise on HAL Nieuw Amsterdam for our anniversary next year. When we found out that bottled water counted toward the beverage package drink limit and that the drink package was not inclusive on their private island, we cancelled the cruise because it did not seem all inclusive enough for us. We changed to Princess as my wife drinks a lot of bottled water each day and we love Princess Cays.
We've never hit the 15 limit on either HAL or Princess despite many waters, coffees and cocktails. It is nice that drinks are included on the private island - HAL does have an option to pay extra to have drink included on Half Moon Cay.

We have always referred to a "roadie" as the beer or drink you grab on your way out the door to the next venue, usually having to hide it due to public drinking laws. The upcharges sound ridiculous to me; you've already paid for your food and i can understand a surcharge for a specialty restaurant, but to have a surcharge on top of a surchage seems excessive.
Great video! Many interesting sights, not the least of which was probably one of the last Quiznos in existence! Also, the shot of the Freewinds, the Scientology ship that still has blue asbestos on it. I have a feeling that all the cruise ships have gone to the "nickel and dime" approach to make up for over two years of lost revenue. This probably had to be as they need to pay back all those "bridge loans" they took out to weather the virus years. I just hope they don't continue them as they will lose the best value in vacations title if they're not careful. The airlines did that with fuel and baggage surcharges, and you know what people think of the airlines now!
