Free water tip for refilling water bottles: Ask your room steward to fill your ice bucket twice a day. Fill personal water bottle with ice and top with bathroom tap water. You can also pour the melt water into your bottle once it has mostly melted overnight. By the way, though Vancouver is cool and rainy today and into tomorrow, it is supposed to heat up by the weekend. Enjoy Vancouver... maybe I'll wave to you from the pier. Just two more months till we head to Alaska on the Koningsdam before she repositions away from Alaska.🏔🚢🦅

Doesn’t sound like you sailed on the very dated eurodam in Alaska because you wouldn’t be making those comments about clean and modern decor… Or great artwork… Or great pool area, furniture… Holland America line is indeed for an older demographic who really wants to experience the sites and activities of their port of calls. Thanks for the information and sounds like we should try a different Holland America ship perhaps. Completely agree with you regarding the subpar shows at world stage and the tiny venues for the very nice music on the music walk. They should switch them out somehow or divide up space in the world stage area.

I took the 175th anniversary crossing on the QM2 which was fantastic and a cruise a couple of years ago on the Queen Elizabeth which was not. Unless you’re in the “Grilles” 🙄 Cunard is just another mainstream cruise line, which isn’t a bad thing, a day on a ship is still far better than a day at work, but Cunard, and particularly Cunarders, build the brand up to be something it clearly was once but is not anymore. All that said I’m on the Queen Anne next month and must admit it looks quite nice at first glance.

There were dance hosts on the QM2 last year and I think they had them on QE earlier this year.

You’ll get the best cuppa (tea) at sea on Cunard. Better than Princess! Yes… take the tea bag out. But they will make proper tea with tea leaves in the restaurants (well they do that in Princess Grill.

I found the tap water (from your bathroom) was ok to drink. We had free water in our cabin (Princess Grill).

For the non drinkers… the drinks package is not worth it.

The Penhaligon products are superior but I do take my own shampoo.

Just on Queen Victoria. In cabin bought 6 large bottles water for 20$. You are able to fill your water bottle on Lido buffet using glass. Used magnets on wall.

Thank you for your helpful video. I just booked my first HAL cruise and can't wait. I've cruise Princess, RCCL and Carnival and all were good, but HAL seems to align with me and my lifestyle. Would love to know about their fitness center and spa!

Team smaller ships (<3000-2000 pax)

I’ll never cruise on the mega ships. Don’t like the long cruise. While I loved the Royal Princess, the queues and crowds were challenging. Mind you, silly me for cruising over Xmas. We also never had to wait for dinner as we had the Reserve dining. Still was a fabulous cruise on a beautiful ship.

I knew where your secret spot as I’d found the same space on Royal Princess. Mind you we had a balcony.

Mac & Cheese and chicken don't go together. There you go, off the ship. I like Forts, looking at cannons. The Buffett on Holland America is good. Jill, you look like you are set for the Orange Party. Bagel and Lox are good.

All the food made us hungry! It looked delish!

Can you make dining reservations for lunch? I was just on the app and was able to make dinner reservations but nothing was offered for breakfast and lunch.

Never have been on Sky Princess. Would like to go on Caribbean Princess. Use suntan lotion. Not really a fan of Sanctuary areas. Sky Princess, I think this was t he cruise that your daughter got married on. Prosecco is very good. Cranberry juice is good too. Tea time is always good. Been to Alfredo's on other Princess ships. That was when it was included though. Vegetarian pizza looks good. Used to love Carnival pizza. Holland America pizza isn't good. Or at least not when we were on it. Good you stayed on the ship at Belize. State Department put a warning on people going to Belize. Love Avocado. Some of those cakes look good. Took one cruise with RCCL and it was more than enough. Don't think would go back to Celebrity either, but, for different reasons.

But Acadia is the best reason to go to Bar Harbor 🤦‍♀️

On day six you finally meet your stateroom steward? I usually meet the steward on the first day. Don't use internet while on vacation. The berries look good. Belgian waffles on a Dutch ship? The Holland America pizza isn't good. Don't like those seats. Hope Holland America keeps to midsized ships. Don't eat shrimp, the Apple, Pear, and Cucumber Salad looked good. The Mushroom Risotto looks interesting. Great time to be in the casino.
