Classic Star Wars Battlefront II still slaps in 2024

- I played Star Wars Battlefront 2 (the 2005 one) for the first time in a while and made a goofy video about it. This video is pretty different than my usual ones and not just because it's not Halo so that's cool. I'll go back to Halo for my next video but I also want to start integrating other games more.

My only problem with the video is that it was too short and I wanted more
All old star wars games need a remaster, with UE5 level graphics.

@ncard00 Best you'll get is mods that upscale the game. There are some mods that actually do a pretty good job of that, though.
@@ncard00 There is an official upscaled version of the original battlefront 1 and 2 being released in March for all platforms and it will have multiplayer.
In my opinion, battlefront 1 had better maps but battlefront 2 had a better overall experience.
The mods for BF2 that add all the maps and units from the first game are the proper way to play, honestly.

My first day as a member of the 501st... it was hot, it was sandy, chaotic. Nothing at all like the simulations on Kamino. Of course that's pretty much the way it was for all of us, wasn't it? All that breeding, all those years of training... it doesn't really prepare you for all the screaming or the blood, does it? Frankly I'm still amazed we ever made it through the first hour, never-mind the first day.
Incredibly, the 501st survived the crucible of Geonosis, emerging battle-hardened, and ready for whatever the war and wind would throw at us.
This is why I love temuera Morrison he played jango fett clones and boba fett in movies and tv show

Your skill with a rocket launcher is unparalleled! Also this is legit the first time I've ever seen the ending cutscene to this game's campaign because it was always too hard for me to beat as a child and now I don't even know where my PS2 is
It's on steam if you own a pc
I remember hitting just about every shot with the rocket launcher on the PS2 if it was a vehicle
But maybe the PC is different?

The OG Battlefront II has been my comfort game for a while. Love it for all of its flaws and quirks. My personal favorite mode is Galactic Conquest; wish other shooter games had tried that concept. I’ve done playthroughs where I didn’t spend any credits, or only played as one class, or didn’t enter any vehicles just to add an extra layer of challenge.
Also I respectfully disagree Frog, I think the award pistol is even more OP than the award rifle
Award Pistol and beam rifle are the best award weapons imo
nothing beats award guided missiles for the heavy
Use to play this game after school with my cousin. We lost him two years ago to gun violence; this game has a special place in my heart.

The fact this game came out in 2005- no wonder we all went nuts, was so ahead of it’s time. Brilliant game.
I love the old battlefront 2 as much as everyone else, but come on, it definitely was not ahead of it’s time. Lets be honest. Even by the standards of 2005, the game had no innovation, or anything truly spectacular. It was fun, yeah, but really not that impressive, and quite frankly pretty lazy in a lot of areas.

@matthewcarlson2939 I can when I was one of the ones developing the RTX mod I suppose. It's been slow going, but I was working with harisonfog who made the remastered maps to bring PBR textures and RTX to the game via RTX remix.

I love that for the cutscene before the Tantive-IV it could still technically work in modern disney cannon. "After a brief and pointless battle lord vader tracked the stolen plans...". He could call the battle of Scairf breif and poitnless
I remember being 6 years old when this game came out back in 2005. A friend of mine had it for PlayStation 2, and we played it together. It was awesome then, and 18 years later it's still awesome.
And then the 501st trooper suffered a heart attack and died because there were no notes about Bespin or Endor. The end.

Oh yes, most definitely a classic. It's kinda sad my 5 year old preferred this game over the newer BF2.
Battlefront 1 campaign was better imo, I enjoy playing that one a lot more bc it's more open and strategic rather than how linear this one is, plus the infinite enemies is bizarre and often you are the last person alive doing everything. The big W on this one is space battles, playable heroes and villains, and the galactic conquest mode, the galactic conquest in this game is the most fun part of the game especially when playing against a friend who is on the other team. The campaign on this one didn't age as good as I wish it had, I like the cleaner look and more strategic open gameplay of Battlefront 1 campaign.
I like both I remember struggling on the rhen var map in the clone wars campaign the ai would almost always overrun me but it was so cool to have a last stand in a saber tank

TRUTH: I really,really,really wanted the option for the Empire versus CIS in the Instant Action mode,that way I wouldn't feel the need to keep playing the story mode every time. Also the Jedi versus Republic on Coruscant.

there is a mod were u make yoda invincible and he gets clone minigun with 100 accuracy so op and fun
I think I prefer the first one more, but I still really like the added features in II
1:28 Uh, actually the main clone force was the 212nd at the Battle on Utapau but the a batch of the 501st was also there for support. ☝️🤓
The 501st Legion was Palpatine's personal special clone unit that assisted other units in batches and carried out important missions for Palpatine.
Anakin led the 501st Legion during Operation: Knightfall for the first time and only then became their permanent leader.

wait I've never seen the laats you need to destroy on kamino lift off and fight back is that just a thing on the ps2 version? usually they stay landed and get destroyed by the ai before I can even get there.
I will say that while classic Battlefront 2 is great, Barrlefront 1 is a little better just by merit of: better maps, being able to prone, air vehicles in atmosphere, no lock on aiming/more traditional controls, and Galactic Conquest, while simpler, having planetary buffs.
Thats why I play with a mod that just adds in a slew of new units, heroes, and yes, the BF1 classic maps. I have the best of both worlds.
Oh, and it adds in stuff from classoc clone wars lore, not rhe shit from the awful 3D show. Even has Durge and Fordo as playable characters.

Ahh I love this game. So many fond memories. Yeah most of the campaign is a breeze, especially with the Elite Rifle, but I think that's part of the fun.
I know CIS stands for Confederacy of Independent Systems but that joke was pretty funny.
Overall, I've got it modded and it looks great. Definitely still holds up for real
