    The foolproof version is to use a yellow ink after the red undertone and the light tan highlight. You can't cover too much with it and it's glorious.

    Vince: "watch me get a whole army done in a week"
    Me: "watch me do a whole 10 Necron Warriors in two"
    Out of curiosity, do you thin your varnishes when using them through the airbrush?
    I've got AK matte varnish for my airbrush but I honestly just never get around to using it out of trepidation of getting the settings/consistency right and then just keep spending money on spray cans instead.

      I do thin it through the airbrush but you cant really mess it up just don't put on too much. You just want to thin it so it will spray evenly though the airbrush

    • @Mikey__R
      @Mikey__R 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I was looking forward to these once I heard about the donation for Tyler. Love this format but also understand why it is an incredibly rare piece of content due to the scope. I love how every step is broken down but skills and techniques that can transfer to any paint scheme are highlighted (e.g. the use of a limited palette). I wonder if you could expand on that piece of content and do other videos along those lines such as "(whatever the proper name for the limited palette is) for Basic SCE/whatever other faction" or maybe color theory around if you chose this as your primary color this is how you go about choosing those select few other paints. Keep up the awesome work and love the cliffhanger at the end!

I'm thinking thinking zenithal prime red, orange, white, then yellow (ink?), then the green as a contrast type glaze (ink again?), finally a deep blue oil for the shadows and a warm white oil for the highlights. I never thought of using free-hand patterns to break up a colour on the armour. I have 60 bestigor with Tau Light Ochre armour which I dabbed with a sponge to create some rust underneath but even with that, the burnt orange is quite strong. I was wondering though what patterns would fit a BoC army, I doubt they would be the kind of race to go for intricate patterns.
