I used to listen to this over and over again in August 2017, telling myself I shouldn't be worried, that I wasn't about to feel a lot of things for someone, I just liked this cover. I was wrong. 2 years later now, I use this song to time travel to that time, to remember how I felt. Thank you world, for letting me "feel" one more time
This is such a great band ! I mean exceptional on every level. Hope they get huge. I think its coming. No way talent like this stays relatively unknown for long.
@@Robotdrone666 not to me but also, I'm talking about Day of the jackal where this song is mentioned. There are a lot of artists that I've only heard through the film and TV, this is one of them
Just discovered this cover of one of my all time favorite songs by one of my presently favorite bands from before I first became aware of them. But unlike Chris Isaak whose original has haunted me since I first encountered in the 80s, Wolf Alice has gone on to create many great new songs as well as doing a great cover of this one.
She kinda reminds me of Hope Sandoval. even though they don't really make the same kind of music, Ellie and Hope are so beautiful and have something special about them

i know what you mean bro, but when their car brakes down in front of my house, they be wishin they were as talented as me.And i know the chances of that happening is 0%.
Interesting fact: the guy who originally sung this, Chris Isaak, was in The Silence Of The Lambs film - he played the swat team commander. Hannibal Lecter was held in that big cage in the huge ballroom above the Court House and escapes, Chris Isaak and his crew arrive to try and recapture him.
I love Wolf Alice and this is a good take on the song. But Chris Isaak performs this song so well it’s never going to be topped. No one else comes close to capturing the harrowing feeling of unrequited love, as Isaak did.
Zanzibar Breeze ... there’s slot of great covers on you tube ect.. and I know what you’re saying about Chris singing it, it’s a hard act to follow but you’ve got to admit this is a brilliant version I know I shouldn’t say it but it’s as good as if not better to me
@@francoharefield9186 I like this cover, I think Wolf Alice are the best band in Britain right now, I’m a huge fan. But this doesn’t come close to Isaac’s version imo.
