Conclusion that John Wetton was absolutely one of a kind and can never be replaced. Billy does a great bass. He's a good vocalist but just not in the same range as John. Bumblefoot does great! If you want to hear John Wetton, there are some excellent videos like the Omega Live that simply cannot be beat. But if you want to enjoy the current lineup, they do a very nice job, Bumblefoot does Bumblefoot fronting Asia and performing their hit songs. He doesn't try to be John Wetton nor should he. I like this performance a lot!

I saw this lineup in Lewiston NY 6/25 and man did they rock. You’ve captured this amazing band well that was followed up by Yes who blew the roof off the place. So lucky to see them once again and now on TH-cam again.
Steve Howe sounds better here than in Yes now a days, the whole band sounds better than Yes, it is sad because originally Asia was just a light version of serious Prog like Yes or UK

Nothing is going to be better than Wetton. I talked to Ron who I think is doing a nice job. This is no longer a recording band, Sherwood's vocals were super weak. This is better.
The sound quality for the vocals is not good. I'm not expecting Wetton. I know he can't be replaced. I'd like to be able to hear the band and vocals better. Does anyone know the current lineup? I know Steve Howe seems to come and go, and there was talk of him being back with his son (instead of Carl Palmer) on drums.

I watched this gross misconception up until Smile Has Left Your Eyes and it was so excruciating I had to turn it off. Of all the disastrous attempts at replacing a key member, this is the absolute worst. Wetton must be in tears up there listening to this pompous pillock mangling his legacy. What on earth were Downes and Palmer thinking?
John Wetton was a great bass player, and a good vocalist in his range (ala Greg Lake, but not as good) - this current lineup is not as good, but that is nothing new. Asia was never a good band - they wanted to wed pop with progressive, and broke progressive to do so, without ever making pop (and who wants to make pop other than music execs?).

When Geoff introduced Steve Howe, tears came. John may have been the voice, but Steve brought the wizardry to the music with his unique guitar sound.
