Nice job, I am very impressed with the ingenuity of the repair, I wouldn't have thought to use sheet plastic myself. Looking forward to the next one. Cheers
It's something I'd like to do with my 80 series and the cushion bit at the top of the door is great as mine doesn't have that so I will make something for my elbows like what you have.
Great Job! it looks excellent... I m working on my 60 series, what type of fabric did you use in the 'middle beige section' ? I struggle to find something similar
This was disturbingly satisfying to watch ! you have missed your calling, this a top job, people pay big money for a lesser result. Using the plexiglass is a gunnies move !
Using this type of plastic turned out to be a terrible idea actually. Turns out it can't handle the Aussie heat. I suggested we try 2mm aluminium sheet
I have the exact same door trim in my HJ61. I’ve been putting 90mm gaffa tape along the top edge of the driver door for the last 5 years. What’s your postal address?? I think I’m going to mail you my door trim ;)
G'day James yeah we're plodding along, it has been a while since posting a video for sure! But we've been filming HEAPS. Just a struggle getting the time to edit them. Hope you're well also mate.
Brilliant video, thanks for taking the time to film it all. My new 61's door cards are absoloutly stuffed, good to see they are repairable.
Excellent result, and found this soo satisfying to watch! Love the effort jake has gone to to get this right. 👌🏾
Mate good to see you back !!!! missing your adventures.

They should have been doing that from the factory I reckon 😉 should stand the test of time now
Great idea with the plastic instead of the masonite!
Oh so good to have another intents video! Bloody loving seeing the 60 get a tidy up
Good to be back Scott cheers, still a few 60 videos in the 'to edit' pile to come out yet 😀
Well done Jake, good job! Wonder what an automotive trimmer would have charged to do it ....

Hey guys. Great work! Wonder how you stuck back on the top of the door card (leather part) onto the new door card body?
What an awesome job. Well done. !!!
Amazing what some patience can do hey!
I see we've gone big budget with this one flying in Alvin Chipmunk to do the voice overs stepping up bois
Yeah it's the real big game over here 😄
Call Ya Mum! should be a tshirt
Daaaaamn you're so right 😄
Very nice job
That turned out pretty damn nice!
What plastic sheetting did you use Jake and what thickness ?? any links where you bought that size sheet would like do my 60 Series
I wouldn’t recommend it. The plastic panel has since warped after one summer of use.
@@jakethomasgarner1886 Ok thanks mate
Rog has lion eyes...what about going to the wreckers to see if there is matching door trims? (did I miss it when you addressed that question?)
definitely do the car builders sound deadener ;) now that the door trims are all off haha
Using plastic is a fantastic idea.
What type is it?

Hahaha! I used to do exactly the same thing on my old Subaru L series. At least it helps to hold together what's left of the panel
How ya goin boys it feels like its been ages
