Nothing would've been appropriate to sing at this historical church than an old slave song that was often done by the late civil rights champion, Bayard Rustin, "Death ain' nuthin' but a robba." And I haven't heard Hall Johnson's "Take my mother home" in church in many a moon, either.

So what I am trying to figure out is what is the purpose of having these constant reminders of a negative past going to do for my people overseas today?, and who is paying for the upkeep of these buildings that are no longer in use? This is shocking to someone like me who did not even know things like this was still about and not in some kind of museum somewhere.
