[EU S14 E03] As The Empire Crumbles
    ******************************************************************************
In this week's episode of EU, Prof.Wolff delivers updates on the mass closing of Greyhound bus stations around the U.S., the escalating strengths of Russian obstacles in Ukraine, the choice the UK faces between paying for the bombing of Yemen or funding their National Health Service, how Boeing's safety debacle propelled China into the lead of global automotive exports and how Israel has also been aversely affected by the shifts and changes of the world economy caused by the decline of U.S. dominance.

We are already in the big crash, Inflation is a catastrophe. This CPI report is a colossal failure. To bring the housing market to a halt, the FED will have to pull all the stops. The unfortunate issue is that other markets are being decimated. If you want to stay green, you have to rely on a lot of diversification. Currently up 14% and being careful. Still a better deal than leaving it in a savings or checking account yielding 0-1 percent interest.

People believe their currency has the worth it does because they have no other option. Even in a hyper-inflationary environment, individuals must continue to use their hyperinflationary currency since they likely have minimal access to other currencies or gold/silver coins.

Inflation is gradually going to become part of us and due to that fact any money you keep in cash or in a low-interest account declines in value each year. Investing is the only way to make your money grow and unless you have an exceptionally high income, investing is the only way most people will ever have enough money to retire.

You have to get a financial-advisor/broker to aid you diversify your portfolios to include commodities, inflation-indexed bonds and stocks of companies with solid cash flows, as opposed to growth stocks where valuations were based on future potential earnings.

I agree, that's the more reason I prefer my day to day investment decisions being guided by an advisor, seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis they have, it's near impossible to not out-perform, been using my advisor for over 2years+ and I've netted over 2.8million.

As a dual U.K./U.S. citizen who upon first coming to the U.S. 7 years ago, made extensive use of the Grey Hound bus service in order to visit 13 cities on my way to Austin pursue music. I am deeply saddened to hear of the closure of these stations. Richard pointing to how these places will now no longer provide really basic things, vending and shelter for those who really need it, speak to his humanity.
I'm also utterly ashamed of the role my countrie(s) are playing in the middle east right now, as ever. Bombing little old Yemen, enabling a genocide in Gaza, my grandad fought in WW2 to defeat fascism and now we are on the side of mass murder.
Richard is clearly a man of upstanding integrity with a clear and inspiring message, and it's in these changing and troubled times that minds and ears are more focused so i hope many more will hear what he has said and will say, for years to come.

Took a bus recently with a stopover in NYC. No longer do they stop at the Port Authority terminal, instead they dumped us at Madison Square Garden. So everyone went into Penn Station to wait. And wouldn't you know it, thanks to Mayor Adams there's no public seating at all in all of Penn Station - the busiest station in the western hemisphere. All over people were sitting on the floor. The sad thing is that as a graduate student I am literally starting to wonder if I got the better life after graduating. It’s depressing honestly..! By the time I graduate I be in debt with student loans and be struggling for years to pay the student loan. Not to mention that I need to have done residency or trainee work to become licensed and by the time I get that done my student loan will be increased by at least 7.5% for each year during and after graduation till I pay it. Ooh imagine that ..! Ooh and by the way my university requires that we have full coverage of health insurance..! Of course I don’t have it, so they add additional 5 thousand dollars automatically for health insurance through the university and they don’t care if I hardly go to the doctor because I am healthy , they don’t care if I want it or not , we are forced to have it.
The tragedy of the two presidential candidates is that none of them are equipped to run a country, and we will be suffering. , because unless this entire system is broken down and socialism established we be in the same position same old predictable results, different president, same outcome. And I don’t see anything changing unless workers organize and get out on the streets and begin a revolution..! Otherwise we be in the same predicament 10,20 years from now.

Your take on BRICS and their recent expansion is one that I certainly agree with. But not limited to just that the BRI seems to be a progressive initiative that gets less attention. While one of only two neighbors that border our country, that being Mexico we wish to secure that border, China on the other hand is extending an Olive Branch all the way to Africa showing real interest to that part of the world. But what astounds me the most is how many people just downplay the BRICS expansion as if it is nothing. Not just average people but prominent people that just seem to be still living off fumes of a nation that was riding high after WW2 but that was a long time ago.

I work with an estate based department of Transport here in Australia, and one of the major concerns of the supply chain industry, which I am a part of is how local jurisdictions and governments have no concept of preserving any kind of land or corridors for use other than building more shit, overpriced houses and apartments or shopping centres. That’s where the most money is to be made, therefore, infrastructure, logistics, all the things people apparently want ends up having no space to be built, and in five or 10 years time, somebody will have to buy all this developed land back for 10 times the price, especially when they see the government wallet coming when it could have just been preserved when it was and used saving the taxpayer shitloads. it’s just insanity

    • @George-k6o9t
      @George-k6o9t 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

I'd second what you wrote, being an Aussie myself and have witnessed the absolute shambles in the government (both parties across the aisle) housing policies. It is as though they have never tried their hands at playing "Civilization" or Sim City - to realize that it takes a COMPLETE holistic plan to build a village, a town and a city with space, infrastructure, schools, hospitals, fire departments, police stations, roads in and out, parking, shops, public transportation, and so forth to cater for population and job growth - and not simply higgle-dee-piggle-dee plonk suburbs, air ports, hospitals, schools, train stations, access roads, etc any which way they see a tiny space or to take over productive farm lands. It's virtually a mad-cap show currently at play and one wonders just what of intellectual capacity we actually have in Canberra these days. In my suburban area, there are so many different private schools set up by religious orders and what-not that every day, it is a nightmare to even exit and enter your own house due to the crazy congestion of cars and mini buses dropping off and picking up students. How do councils even permit schools to be built in inner suburbs without adequate traffic and parking spaces is beyond any logical understanding.

I see what is going on in Gaza, the social media cancel culture, and censorship by Euroamerican countries as indicative of a rise in hatred and violence precipitated by the decline of empire. I fear minorities who have already had to flee extremism in their countries, which was fueled by colonialism, will be targeted by those who feel entitled to reclaim what was not theirs in the first place.

China"s great strength is in the electric economy. Not only do they make a large portion of the super-batteries and mine the most matterials they are made of, they also have about a ten year head start on manufacturing the cars that run on them.
If the US dose not turn into a pluto-fascist-theocratical dictatorship, I suspect it will find its own blend of capitalism and socialism.
The US not only practices capitalism as if it were a religion, it also practices about the worst form of capitalism possible. That is capitalism with no real constraints.
