Without ever hearing about Decade or Shotlink, I devised this style of target selection on my own around 2011 when I couldn't golf much but still though about it all the time. However, hearing Scott talk about it has given me a lot more confidence in using these aiming techniques and made the system way more effective for me, so thanks to Scott for all of his research and data and not just hiding it behind closed doors.
Nice you're the definition of wicked smart if you were doing this 10+ years ago! Yeah Scott is a stats guru, I love Decade and can't recommend it enough. It's given me tons of confidence on approach shot selection. Thanks for watching!
Awesome guest. Scott's Decade system is revolutionary. I have been playing golf for 50 years and have never been able to get out of my own way as a player. Even in casual rounds, I've never been comfortable below par and often I am at or near level par after 12 holes, then the voice starts going in my head and I'll start giving away shots. I am an introvert and by definition, I get my energy from within so the voice that you speak of is always going in my head. I have never tried meditation or even Tai Chi because it didn't occur to me that it would help. I'm not sure that I would have the patience with all of the stats but as Scott says, the true value of Decade could be in the mental approach to the game. Thank you both.
Yea Decade has some great mental game stuff but definitely a more numbers based approach to making decisions. My favorite mental game strategy is Mental Golf Type - it's based on your personality type to learn how to get in the zone. Here's a link if you want to learn more about it www.mentalgolftype.com/a/39011/Hfvo4urF
I’m trying it now. Consumed the content for foundations “month 1”. I haven’t used any of the yard books yet. I think im picking Decade targets off the tee, at least in essence. Just got a lesson to get my driver actually working ok. Felt good in the lesson yesterday. Hope i can make it translate to the course.
Nice! Decade has helped me a ton - just automates your decision making which is great under pressure. Keep up the one shot shape like he mentions & that’ll help a ton off the tee. Do you play in tournaments or leagues?
No tournaments and no leagues yet. When my kids get a little older, I do want to join a league night. I’m currently a 15 1/2 handicap but I plan on driving that down to single digits ASAP.
@@murp0443 nice! I think you'll enjoy the competition and meeting fellow golf addicts - ha. What's the biggest part of your game holding you back from single digits? I'll see if I have a video, podcast, or blog I've written that I can send your way.
