Some constructive criticism for you: Your reviews would be better if you researched the vehicle you test beforehand. A couple of examples: The buttons in the back to move the driver's seat forward don't work when the seat is occupied for obvious reasons. The passenger seat also slides forward as well as tilting forward to give you better access to the back seating. As regards fuel economy, this vehicle is optimised for short/urban journeys, which research tells us is what the vast majority of journeys are, for most people on the planet, over 90% of the time. Occasionally we all do longer journeys and for that you have the range extender, which does what it says on the tin, albeit not as efficiently as a straightforward, modern petrol engine in a small car on fast, open roads. Overall therefore, this vehicle is extremely efficient for the vast majority of people, but if you drive long distances every day, you would probably be better off with pure electric, petrol or diesel. Lots of ill informed comments about fuel economy of this car kicking about, take a look at the official figures and don't tamper with the charging settings unless you fully understand what you're doing and it will do at least what it says on the tin, Mazdas nearly always do, if anything they tend to under state what their vehicles can do and they are nearly always refreshingly different and innovative.
finally somebody that understood the essence of the car... it is so funny that i have senn tens of review, they evaluate consuption, without understanding how to use the car... they compare petrol consume with a picanto, and electric range with a tesla...
@@luigipetillo555 yes I almost feel a bit sorry for Mazda, their cars are innovative and different but receive lots of unfair criticism, perhaps they should market them differently because their owners are usually happy with them. I have a Mazda 3 Skyactive X which is probably one of the most underrated cars currently in production with a totally unique, supercharged, compression ignition petrol engine that took them 11 years to develop. It sips fuel like a Picanto and produces 186ps but doesn't sell particularly well here in the UK.
@@ladalout245my 2020 3 skyactive X was my favourite car of its size ive owned. So much personality and refinement. Shame mine was an early model and there were a few kinks yet to be ironed out (mirrors didnt always fold in fully, 12v batter issue, door unlocking sensor sometimes didnt work in the cold and there were a lot of rattling in the interior at the end of my 3 year stint. Getting one of these next month after a test drive where I was incredibly satisfied and impressed.
@@thomaselwood12 mine is the slightly revised version but it does have a few minor interior rattles and I think they're known for the 12V battery only lasting for 3 or 4 years, maybe that's something they've cured now, but no car is perfect and its the best car I've ever owned, same as you! Good luck with the new car, I'm sure you'll be happy with it. 🙂
Because every reviewer is playing with it's charge modes which is killing efficiency. This car performs best when driving it like an EV so always plug it in when at home and only let it use fuel when needed. This way you will not use any fuel while driving around town doing groceries. If you have to travel a bit further for work you can use the modes to make the most out of the battery and fuel. Commute to and from work in our case is around 40 miles total and we use the normal-mode on the way to work and drive back in EV-mode. This way we are sure we always have above 45% charge to drive back even if we have not charged it fully or had to do an extra stop somewhere... driving back in EV-mode allows it to fully drain the battery. We haven't had the car for long ( around 700kms or 435 miles ) and it took a bit to find the optimum in both usage and efficiency, but we are currently at around 2l/100km=140mpg and 19kwh/100km and improving. So basically efficiency of this car totally depends on how you use it and how long your average commute is... Being able to extend the range using fuel is mainly a convenience feature for never having to charge the car anywhere but at home... If you often need to drive long distances this car might not work out, but for 90% of the people having a small battery is perfectly usable especially if you are able to charge at home
I drive this car already for 9 months and my fuel economy is 3.4l/100km overall. Meaning I charge it and use on city driving 100% electric and when I need to drive for 340km I use it in Normal mode for the whole trip. For the 340km trip it consumes about 20l of fuel considering first 40km is electric on normal mode. Meaning the overall normal mode consumption is about 6.6l/100km.
Side comment not about fuel, you must have 1l oil bottle all the time, I use 0W-20 oil from general store matching the specification from car manual, not the original Mazda oil. By nature Wankel motor consumes oil, I had to add already 2l for the 7500km milage. I assume this is normal as it is mentioned in the manual. Overall excellent car and I like it much of course I am not able to complain on what I bough myself :D. Like they say, man should not complain about car or wife as he picked them up himself.
Well done lads. Love your reviews.
Aww thanks Kerry, that literally means so much to us. Thanks for taking the time to leave us a comment 🤗

i have the gasoline version of the MX-30. The handling is smooth because of the G-vectoring

Every review has said this car is terrible for its fuel economy/ efficiency

@@sergeysedelnikov3015 Hi Sergey, what was the speed you drove during the 340km trip, was that highway or combined?
@@Allanon1968 Hi, the trip was mostly on highway. About 90% of time the speed was between 85-120km/h, and other 10% was in the city, around 60km/h.
