      Captain Genius lol bullshit. Everyone is so deceived with religion, it's really sad. The man made religions, all created and controlled by the same psychopaths that created and control royalty and our governments... all intertwined. You think _your_ religion is true and you're on the right path. Well, so does everyone else. And yet they all feel the spirit, have spiritual experiences. Imagine that.
      Frankly, you don't know the hearts of anyone but yourself, nor do you truly know what happens when we die. None of us do. You just have faith in one type of outcome. I do not believe hell even could exist. It's not in the original scripture anyway, not as hellfire and brimstone. That was added much later by church leaders to scare the bejesus out of people so they'll behave and keep coming back, to repent, to trust their church. More control mechanisms. It's a vile, sadistic, twisted concept, not something a loving, perfect god would even do. Not one worth worshipping for sure.
      An eternity of suffering for a short, finite lifetime's deeds? Where's the justice in that? Especially the idea, as some claim, that you'll end up there _simply for believing the wrong thing_ or worshipping the wrong way, when we have thousands of choices claiming to be the truth. Can't blame someone for not figuring out which is true, especially when most are run by hypocritical charlatans. From what I've seen of so many church leaders -- especially the big religions -- none look real or genuine to me. More likely _all false_ .
      You have no idea who in Hollywood is good or bad, or who would have Gods' favor (assuming there is one in the way we're taught to think).
      Why are we discussing this? This is about Willy Wonka!

    Saw the film in a theater with my dad when I was a kid. One of the best memories ever. When we exited into the lobby, the man behind the candy counter was yelling " get your wonka candy right here!! Real Wonka bars right here! " Every kid ran over including me. It was so surreal to see the movie and then have the actual bars right there in the lobby. Of coarse these were the ones made by Quaker and everyone had a golden ticket inside. What a powerful marketing idea...

    Has anyone any idea who narrated this promo? His voice is so familiar. I feel as though I've heard 100 times (I watch a lot of these old trailers).

    The people who worked on the props did a amazing job. I guess that’s why I’m not that impressed with today’s movies with everything being CGI.

    • @dougbriglmen716
      @dougbriglmen716 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s because they overdo it on CGI and they don’t try and balance it out, the best film makers only use CGI when there’s no other way of doing something.

    To film this movie must have just been brilliant if only there was a time machine to see what it was like and watch them actually film it. I bet it was very long and lots of takes to get it just right so Mel Stuart liked it. Ive read Julie Dawn Coles book but it doesnt really mention more about filming it it mentions some but not in a lengthy way. Id love to know what it must have been like to film it in Germany and what it would have been like.

    I think they should make another one since I don't like the newer one, I think it should be very accurate,the costumes since both movies aren't quite accurate but gene had the movie accurate one, also I think the rooms could not be so like dark like the newer one, and I think the characters should not have been updated since willy wonka closed his factory in late 1920's to early 1930's and the story takes place around 50's 60's

    No silly computer generated anything back then. They built actual models for their projects. Just like how Disney built actual miniature models for each ride that was in production at Disneyland around this same time period. Hence why nowadays nothing is as good as it was when it comes to things like this. It is just the truth.

    At 2:51, what camera are they using? A Mitchell BNCR or Arriflex 35 IIC? IMDB says they used those two cameras for the movie.
    Edit: It's a Mitchell BNCR, the Arriflex 35 IIC is a small handheld camera, not a big camera like the BNCR.
