      I would agree, except for one fatal flaw: the manufacturer code. Each car has a changeable user code, and a permanent manufacturer code, which can always be used to unlock or change the user code. There are few manufacturer codes, and you can finds lists of ones to try that will quickly get you in to many Fords, or just look at the VIN and you can determine the code from that.

      They should have added the door closer button like on Rolls Royce rear doors. What if you get into the rear seat and don't have a chauffeur, or they are already in the driver seat for various reasons. i.e. you have to step out quickly and back in, why wait, when you could just hit a button to close the door without having to reach out to the 90 degree extended door. For $120K car, this should easily be doable and still be competitive with Rolls Royce. Plus add an umbrella to the door too!

The buyer of this car doesn't want a race car or to 'feel the road' also, who buying a 120k car wants cheap crap factor entertainment systems. It doesn't have one for two reasons. fiorst, most people buying this car won't use it, and second, those that will will have their own custom system installed to their liking.
      Honestly I could have done without the monstrosity console taking up half the back seat.

    The fit and finish of this car is unacceptable. I have seen one in person and it was decidedly unimpressive once one starts really looking carefully. It is a clear example of the somewhat fail US car manufacturers seem to embrace. Sadly, we could make gorgeous, well made cars, but we CHOOSE to slack on quality. This car is worthy maybe 50000-60000 new at best. Honestly, I have seen Hyundai high end models that are nicer fit and finish.

    • @MichaelIZ
      @MichaelIZ 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. Which is sad, because Lincoln's styling has gotten really interesting, finally taking on its own language. But when there are more panel gaps and loose trim than in a Subaru, how can you justify spending on them when companies like Hyundai are selling higher quality Genesis models are more reasonable prices? The American manufactures have had decades to get over themselves yet it still hasn't happened. Maybe after a few more government bailed bankruptcies they'll finally learn?

    I'm curious, did Doug have to get permission from the to-be owners to drive this car before they officially owned it? It's not unusual for a dealer car to have a few miles on it--maybe somebody took it for a test drive before you decided to buy, but with that rear plaque that means that those people already bought the car (maybe not paid for it) and Doug is essentially just some guy filming a video with it. If they're cool with that then I see nothing wrong with that, but I would be a bit annoyed if I paid 100k+ for a car to find that some random guy I never heard of took it for a spin and put 5 miles on it when I had to have it custom ordered.
