    I don’t think he was actually trying to shade him because he was referring to his Oscar acceptance speech. It was funny though because everyone will remember the “ keep my wives name out of your f’n mouth” more than anything Will Smith has ever said in his life. What a low class dude.

      I actually think this was before Will's speech, so yeah...Anthony was trying to school him a bit. I wouldn't say "shade" him tho. But real shit, Sir Hopkins seems shaken up by that shit. Like he's legit AFRAID! smh

    he didn't "throw shade" he was gracious and truthful........this is how everyone should act instead of reacting. shade is darkness. grace is unearned undeserved favor. we can accept someone without accepting their behavior.

      Thank you! I didn't get "Shade" from this either. I think he's a pure class act and I think he truly wants this event to be peaceful, loving and quiet. It wreaked of forgiveness to me. It alluded not to Will's sin, but to Will's apology and the acceptance of that apology. To me he was saying, it's time to forgive. Let tonight be about peace and love.
