Your win in the sim Indy 500 which you've dedicated to your granddad was such a wholesome moment. I believe you were still streaming from the shed back then. I love it that here on YT you're pretty much always the same honest guy with a big heart who's just... authentic. I think that's why it's so easy to root for you and to be a witness to all your bigger and smaller achievements - whether it's making your dreams come true or just getting a decent place to live comfortably. I’m a “boomer.” Old man. I don’t often speak to people I don’t know. But I have, on many occasions done a super chat to make a comment or “try to be funny…” on a livestream of Jimmy’s. But the real reason I’m there is because of how “real” Jimmy is. No where else have I found anyone who can drive to his level, while simultaneously describing what he’s doing, reading chats, and replying! Not generally winning races, but winning SOME, but never whining about it!
We all knew why you were invited to LeMans in 2020, because they NEEDED YOU! You helped keep that race solvent! And I’m sure many others. Do you think they would have celebrated you reaching 600K subs if you weren’t a major contributor to that event’s success? So, for this old man, all I want from you is to do what you believe is best for you. And if that includes some live streams, better for us. I’ve had a bit of a broken body for almost a half Century, so happiness is sometimes tough to come by, but you’ve supplied plenty. Thank you Jimmer, from the basement.

You, Steve and Misha, helped me to get through a bad period of my own and in the end, inspired me to buy my first rig which I got in July last year, effectively making me discover a hobby that I've wholeheartedly fallen in love with.
In the end, whichever path you choose we'll be here, watching your content and witnessing you bloom doing the very thing you love.

I'm not a racing driver nor am I a sim racer (I'm more like an enthusiast, because I never had the funds to pursue that hobby), so for like 40% of why I watch you is more to have a great time, have a laugh and just be entertained, honestly.
But that 60% of why I watch you Jimmy and have been following you for almost 8 years now is to see how much you've grown. Especially since I saw those yearly videos reflecting on what happened in the year that passed and, of course, that 2016 resonates me the most. I survived dark times in my life and tried to end it in more than one occasion and seeing you being honest with your fans and most importantly yourself in those videos made me have a more sincere approach to myself and my life, so every year on the day of my last attempt I make a post reviewing my last year and thinking what I hope for the next one, trying to be sincere and celebrating my victories where I can and giving them the value they deserve, just like you. And my life's getting a lot better recently as well as yours so watching your journey for all this time really resonates with me and I'm so happy that we all found a way to grow, be better and be happy.
I'm proud of me, I'm proud of you Jimmy, and I'm proud of everyone who took the time to read this and if you're having a bad time, just be patient with yourself. Victories will come even if they're small, but from those small victories after some time you'll see how much progress you made. Be honest with yourself and take your time, everything will work out.
So thanks for being an inspiration for me and for a lot of people as well Jimmy, not just as a racing driver, but the wonderful person that you are too.

I only joined this journey at the end of 2017 after searching for some videos on AMS, but watching all the videos kept me going through times when I wanted to give up on a lot of things, even if it was something to just keep me distracted for a while. I still remember sending you little painted birb bandanas and remember how happy it made me to see you show them and beat the GT4 license test with the golden one. It's been a privilege to be a mod on this channel, it's been surreal watching you race irl and make dumb flags to make you smile (and cringe in equal measure) and to race you in sim has always been a pleasure. You even allowed me to drive your beloved MX5 on track, I can never be thankful enough for that opportunity. Who knows what the future holds but may long it continue, thank you for the past 7 years Jimmy, can't wait to see what incredible things you can do in the next 7

I must say this, even if it will be lost in the comments.
Here from around 100k, found you as a suggestion from an unrelated video I can't even remember. But I remember seeing a thumbnail and saying "oh, nords, nice, let's have a look"
You can't even start to imagine how much you and in particular your full time races streams helped me through the years. I know it represents a bad time in your life, but looking at a guy in a fucking shed creating such a fun community, great entertainment and most of all SUCH A FUCKING AMAZING VIBE, it gave me strength. Your shed sometimes felt like my safe spot. If I came home in my 3x3 room, started my pc and saw you driving a box in those four walls was like entering a room where I knew I would find friends. I wasn't going through such severe things like you did, but I really felt attacked in everyday life. I had big dreams and didn't see many ways to go about pursuing them.
I fucking ditched my friends to spend a new year's eve watching your stream, because it was COMFORTABLE.
And looking at you transition, while I must admit felt a bit like loosing a safe spot in the beginning, it made me SO PROUD I didn't even think I could feel something like this for someone. It made me say "I can do shit right even if I don't think I can". I was envious, must be said, because I knew I didn't have the guts to REALLY push myself (still had problems, still have if we're honest, with self-consideration), but it made me do changes. Make choices. Say "I can do this". I said "he fucking deserves it, finally some recognition in this world".
    I'm tearing up, didn't think I would.
I'm so amazed at the journey you've had, I'm so grateful and happy it happened to you, against all the sbad stuff you went through. I'm genuinely happy for you, but I must say most of all THANK YOU for all the nice moment I could live through and with you.
Sorry for my english, second language.
Just a final thought. I understand you don't feel so attracted by youtube, lately, but please: keep putting up shit for us worldwide dwellers, from time to time. online or IRL, it's the same, I watch everyuthing. We do enjoy your person. That's why.

Jimmy my wife and I only found you within the last year but having watched your backlog of videos, it’s no surprise you’re a success and you deserve it all. I’m sure many will agree you’re humble, appreciative of every experience that has come your way, share your passion, and most importantly - stay authentically yourself over all these years which is so rare in TH-cam these days.
It took a lot of courage to speak about your past and where you’ve come from, but your passion and your story will inspire thousands if not millions more to follow their own passions, whatever that might be, Motorsport or not.
Whatever you choose to chase that excites you, sim racing, real racing - whatever - we’ll be right there alongside you for the adventure. Anyone could watch motorsports from millions of different people.
We watch it from you, because of you. Much love bro.

Just wanted to send a huge thank you for opening up about your past struggles. Hearing your story about facing mental challenges was incredibly brave and inspiring. It's clear you've walked a difficult path, and the strength it took to share that journey deserves so much respect.
But here's the thing, Jimmer - by speaking out, you've done something even more powerful. You've become a beacon of hope for countless people battling similar demons. You've created a safe space, a kind of sanctuary, where people know they're not alone.
Honestly, Jimmer, all the success you've achieved is fantastic, but this - being a voice for those who struggle - that's your greatest accomplishment. You're showing everyone that even with a tough past, you can create something beautiful and positive. You're a true inspiration.
Thank you again for sharing your story. It means the world.

I had a similiar childhood and I know how shitty it is for a single Mom to keep a household running financially ánd keep a family together.
It is basically a combination of financial struggle, a lot of sleepless nights and sometimes even starving, so your kids have something to eat for school.
I don't want to go too much into the "abusive stepdads" topic, because I know from experience that this is a whole chapter itself, can't be easily summarized and is unexceptional hard to talk about... Let's just say, it is just a shitty situation, especially for the kids.
It certainly does not help when your stepdad is just an ahole, or suffering mental health issues himself as it was the case with mine.
Props to all single moms that keep their families together and their heads above water!
I started following your channel at about 20k subs and it's astonishing what you achived meanwhile, while also not forgetting where you came from.
Your streams helped/are helping a lot of people that are/were experiencing mental heal issues, myself included. It is just the simple fact that you are not the only one experiencing a similiar trouble, that can do a lot to keep you motivated to continue instead of using "A Way Out".
You proofed that it is possible to get out of the deep hole called "depression" and eventually even chase your dreams, if you just keep continuing, no matter how dark everything seems at the moment.
That certainly helped me alot in the past 10+ years to not loose my mind completely and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who feels that way.
It just feels good knowing, that the circle of shit can be broken :) Thank you for that!
It has been a wild journey for sure...
I wish you all the best for your future, keep going like that, you f*ing madlad!❤❤❤
PS. Despite being treated like Heroin in the UK, I would prefer weed over alcohol. It also makes you numb enough to somewhat enjoy yourself but it doesn't completely fuck you up as regular drinking does. If I had started drinking in my darkest times, I wouldn't be here anymore for sure. Of course the best would be to live without any drugs, but that seems somewhat unrealistc.
I lost a few friends to mental health issues and that can be circumvented if you early recognize the signs of mental health issues and act fast.
Look out for yourselves, and seek psychological attention if you suspect that you, or anyone you know, might suffering from mental health issues... It could save someones life.

That was a great insight. I found you pre-Covid, so been here a little while now. And I understand fully what you went through in 2015/16. Had it for years from '99, which was then complicated by PTSD. People call those who take their own lives cowards, but it takes a hell of a lot of guts in the end. I suppose you could say that it takes guts to survive it as well because nobody should go through that. Took me 20 years to finally get back to work. You're a braver guy than I. The toxicity of the TH-cam comments section would have pushed some people over the edge when they're going through that. But you pushed through it all and look where you are now. I'm here since the beginning 🙋‍♂You've come a long way Jimmer, i have lots of respect for you. I am now in a bit of a darker period for myself but slowly clawing myself out of it. I used to make videos back in the day of rFactor 1 aswell and used to run some leagues on the F1RFT2008 mod. (With varying kinds of success and subscribers) but nothing too big or insane tho, maybe like 3000 subs but that was a lot to me, but my account got hacked and because of it TH-cam deleted my account and there is no way to get my account and subs back. But i hope to one day get back my will to make videos and start it over again from scratch. I think you're a big example of what can become of you when you keep at it, and maybe the most important part: if you keep enjoying it. It won't go anywhere if it feels like a chore, if you're having fun, then most likely the viewers will have fun with you. I'm glad you made it this far Jimmer and i wish you all the best! 😊

So Jimmer I will write why I think your channel is great.
    You love what you do.
You have talent behind the wheel and are pretty good at Simracing.
You are a funny guy with your take on stuff (EG Rebel Tree etc)
You are genuine, not afraid to admit you have had a bad day or week. This makes you approachable/relate-able.
You get fully immersed in your projects, eg Career in Codies F1, various cars at the ring.
You are a passionate motorsports head and have learned and share a lot.
Your'e a pretty thoughtful guy and share your thoughts freely, eg the download about what had happened in the simracing world over Covid that you shared while driving the canyon roads.
So it's entertaining and genuine to watch you. If you get into it your audience gets into it.

    Well done, keep being you.

I landed here almost a decade ago. You were steaming, wearing a headband and doing crazy shenanigans in sim racing. Back then i stayed for the Sim content. Because i couldnt afford any PC let alone a sim rig. Over the years i built my own "rig" and PC, gained experience and you were always there along that journey. Like a brick in a foundation that keeps things just steady enough to not break.
And i mean that in the best way possible because i also had a .. rough.. time in 2015/16. While going through therapy i saw videos of you talking about your issues and opening up about insecurities. Which immensely helped me in my own fight for.. stability(?)
By the time the big (C)ough rolled around i wasnt rewally here for the racing part of your channel. As sad as it may sound. But i was here for your genuine enthusiasm for the racing world. Your joy and energy fueled my own drive to pursue my love for all things cars. (pun intended)
What keeps me here nowadays mainly you. Most importantly: Your successes, your joy, your hardships and the way you face them.
Keep doing your thing. I wish you the best success and a happy life without those worries lingering in the back of your head, even when things go well. I know how hard it can be.
    Remember: No Punterino Jimmer.

Jimmy, I watch a lot of youtube and don't comment a lot, but I felt like I really wanted to let you know my thoughts. This was a really good watch from start to finish, very true and honest video, emotional at times. I don't think people expect you to do serious sim racing content anymore as I'm sure many realise that once you can do the real deal this will become secondary. I do think you bring a lot of enjoyment with the very content you mentioned you enjoy the most though. Doing silly challenges in BeamNG or trying things nobody else has even thought about. As your white board says, "Enjoy yourself" and "Share your passion"! Don't feel pressured to do things you think people are expecting you to do. I wish you success in your racing and fun in both real life and sim!

I found your channel back in 2018 when I got into sim racing after going to the Indy 500. I grew up at an IndyCar race track (Mid-Ohio) and recently got back into racing. I always wanted to race on a feedback wheel but didn't have the funds then I found your channel and my obsession with the Nurburgring began. And thanks to you I started my own TH-cam channel doing sim racing meme videos and now I have 800 subscribers. While it's not that many I'm still thankful for how much fun I've had along this journey. Now fast forward years later I race on a Fanatec Direct Drive wheel and have my escape from reality when my mind gets in a dark place. I lost my father back in 2020 also because of alcohol. He was the one that raised me watching CART & American Lemans Series so racing was the way I coped with my loss. So thank you Jimmy for putting a smile on my face even in my darkest times. It's absolutely insane to see how far you've come, Jimmy, and it's great to see it happen to such a genuine and lovable bloke. I started watching in late 2017 and I used to love those endurance races you used to do with Bailey (shoutout to Stephen btw, hope you're doing well). Those streams and videos helped me through some rough shit of my own and I am forever thankful for that.
Just a little happy memory I have from one of those streams: I don't remember when this was, but you were definitely racing with Bailey in the R18. At some point, I seem to remember just before your final stint, a donation train got going out of the blue. Just people sending some good vibes and cash. The train lasted so long and and drowned you in so much love and affection, that you actually couldn't handle it and started crying right there, on stream, just before you were supposed to drive. Bailey had to take over the final stint, because you were shattered haha. It was a magical moment and I remember being very happy for you that night.
I hope you are able to share your passion and thrive doing it, like you have been, for a long time. I wish you all the best, Jimmy. You deserve it :)

I think you’re selling yourself short a bit about being a goofball and saying you feel out of place in real world Motorsport, I’d argue we need more characters like you in the world of Motorsport with how curated it is today, my favourite Moto GP riders are the ones who are a bit of a goofball.
