Haha, Texans all over the place up in here. I guess I missed this video. That was about the time I mostly dropped out of social media and quit expanding everything for almost 5 years. I'm back again. Thanks for sharing the content and I'm looking forward to getting a parcel from you soon. Kudo's for getting a @PulitzerOpal commentary...high praise indeed. thanks to both of you for sharing a bit of yourselves and the great work you do. Love the arrowheads.

I was really happy I had watched this video because it has explained what to look for. I got a one pound rock from the Spencer mine in Idaho, from a guy who was one of the first to go there when they first opened for people to pay 20$ and they can go into the rock filled area of rocks from their mine and take out a pound of rocks and pay 10$ for every pound over that. I had been on vacation in Idaho in June and it was my biggest wish to go there. Opal is my birth stone and I have always thought it the most beautiful of all. I was there all day with my nephew and cousin I found nothing but one that was glittering in the sand in the hole I dug, and it was the size of a freckle, but it did had great colors. It never takes much to make me happy:)
So I had to buy one small one in the store for 100$. Well this guy who had come on one of the first days, had found so many rocks with opal that he had carried out bucket after bucket. He had them for years and now selling them cheap and only had 2 pounds left which I bought. When I got the first one weighing one pound It looks like an eskimo - it has a round face of opal and a rock hat around the face and a reddish line all around the face showing glows of color and then the shoulders and then it's cut off making it flat. Remembering what you had said I knew the thick reddish line all the way around the face was important. And at the bottom it has a thick white layer and then a thick reddish line all the way around it, and I can see the colors shining next to it. I got the other pound - 3 smaller rocks a red line in one of them and color glows, and there is a lot of this strange light brown what looks like some kind of crystal. I have noticed that if a rock has the brown crystal it will have opal too. But it's very hard to cut into. I only have a Dremel to use, so it will take me a long time to get to the opal:)
I will be 60 next month so it has taken me all these years to finally have my dream come true, but it shows that if you just wish something enough, it may one day happen. So I wanted you to know that your video really helped me or I wouldn't have known what to look for and may have ruined it. Thank you very much both of you!!! You are very lucky to live in a country where you can get opals, in my country we will have to get a metal detector to go look for the gold left by the vikings if we want to find something special:)
