    This is so simple and easily understood, one of the best instructional videos I've ever seen on opal. Thank you!

      Thanks... Proves you don't need sophisticated faceting machines to achieve good cutting

    This is such an informative video about cutting boulder, such fabulous eye candy and wisdom. Can't thank you enough! Also, great tips for making the stone ready for the jewelry designer. It's amazing how all the lappers have the same manicure!

      Thanks for your kind remarks. I'll pass on to Rod. Yes, often he grinds his fingertips away.

    Super informative! I was just searching through boulder opal rough on the auctions and it's been about 3 decades since I've bought boulder (used to get it at Tucson show). Looking to get a rough parcel and have some messy fun. This is a great primer. Thank you, Cheers!

    What's a parcel like that worth to buy and what could you potentially make after rubbing and polishing them?

    • @CapricornGems

      This question is too difficult to answer. There are too many variables at play for every parcel, stone and sale. Parcels of any value can cost many tens of thousands of dollars.... Yet there is never any guarantee of a good return.

    Hello, my name is Werny and my Hooby are boulder opals! I always saw and grind myself, the problem is I don't get any bigger pieces of raw material here in Germany So my question it is possible for a few 100 Euro beautiful pieces directly fromof the mine. Greeting Werny

    • @CapricornGems
      @CapricornGems  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can contact miners on Instagram and you will possibly be able to source opal. But be aware most opal miners process their best material.
