Fusion should be played at around 1-2, continuous trap is a solid 1 (don't forget this is a recyclable in-archetype protocol with an added +1, on average, disruption card so it ain't trash), normal trap is 0 if not 1 but that's only justifiable if you pre-plan your game to be long and grindy and possibly setup for big link summoning/xyz plays, assuming you have enough cards to be in the grave and not banished by the big beat stick monster, which just means for the sake of brevity and less overthinking just play the normal trap at 0. Origin probably should be at 3, same with bolt, bc one's a self-searching 500 booster that's a quickie and Bolt's Stratos. Beastial and Avian probably run at 2, since one's recursion from the grave any Thunder Dragon card, including the spell/trap supports, and the other is a monster reborn and that shit will help with the 1 or 2 card contact fusion. So yeah, deck's not super fast at first, but drop some chaos support and Lithium will prove this shit is otk-ready.

Gimmick isn't really weird. Allowing them to discard them for effect and triggering when getting banished with enough options to banish them sound like the gimmick to a tier 1 deck to me (even though Thunder dragon is most likely tier 2-3)
its disgusting how much this new cards plus out of Gold Sarcophagus and allure of darkness. and they even have a level 8 monster that can be easily recovered back when discared via trade-in. this might become the next meta deck meanwhile, salamangreat got like one of the worst field spells ever

If you mean that you have ygopro without Link Monsters, there's a video on how to get it (note that there's a difference between "ygopro 2" and "ygopro with Links." I use the latter.) If you're talking about getting these cards specifically, then it won't be long until they get added in.

I've tested it multiple times... Splashed with Dinosaur-Evolution pill or Aleister. Allure of Darkness and Gold Sarc makes dead hands close to non-existent. Gold Sarc-ing Avian is basically a mallet, Allure-ing Bolt is basically Engage!
Only an issue if all you're running is Thunder Dragons. Mekk-Knights had similar issues and Invoked helped gauze them over-I've no doubt it can do so for this Archetype as well. 'Sides, I think we all got an education over how "limiting" to an Archetype/series Super HOPT effects are with Dragon Rulers ennywez.

Been having a bit of fun going down the Thunder Dragon reveal rabbit hole. I am genuinely surprised you thought this archetype was gonna flop, even after reviewing an anti-search boss monster with protection. It ended up terrorizing the meta for over a year as we know. Pretty crazy how things turned out.
Late comment: 2:44: Yeah so as Long as you have at least 3 thunder dragon monsters in your GY/banished/field, you can fusion summon thunder dragon titan every single turn.
Gold sarcophagus is gonna have a fieldday with this deck Aside from just generally being a rota and a lot more it singlehandedly makes superbolt by banishing bolt thunderdragon to add avian and then discarding to summon the banished boltthunder which fullfills superbolts summoning condition and now you made a walking mistake without your normal summon. Can also just search the fusion spell off boltthunder if you got more thunderdragons to put in grave or banish to make lord. Overall this deck just seems really solid. Good effects across the board, banish synergy, crazy fusion spell to recurr your banished cards and most importantly no normal summon reliance.
All of the effects just compile on each other, and then if you combine them with chaos dragons and some thunder stun cards, you basically have a Chaos Lightning deck.
FYI because it works if banished, this is material for fairy tail snow based deck. just like those 60 cards decks. the only thing needed is to get that grass looks greener BACK.
I can see the Chaos Dragon in this set working with this after all it banishes three of the monsters to summon itself and get effects off all three of them.
probably too inconsistent, Id think more along the lines of skystriker and/or invoked(or grass but thats ocg only). Chaos decks always suffered from their big cards being rather unsearchable or requiring a lot of set up. Invoked guarantees you to have a use for your normal at all times and can easily trigger the banish effects of the thunder dragons to make mechaba. Superbolt and mechaba also make life hard for your opponent. Both archetypes are really consistent and grindy on top of having good opening boards
I personally like how they are making cards for a monster that was best as a one of in the old days. I hope if they make more cards for this they don’t royally fuck it up and make it borderline useless or terrible. I would like this to eventually be a rogue deck if you splash in some chaos dragons (please for the love of god make for support for those) and make this fun to play with and against

Thunder dragon hasn't been seen since the Original duel monster days, and not even as a signature card just something that got used by kaiba that one time (i think, so any subsequent appearances can't have been very impressive). Don't get me wrong, i appreciate them not sticking soley to anime cards for legacy support but this really came out of nowhere.
Tom Franck same way the Mythical Beast Archetype came to be Thunder Dragon was Originally a well liked and highly regarded card like Mythical Beast Cerberus.
Wait cerberus was well liked back in the day? Why? Thunder dragon was at least usefull for deck thinning and having the easiest to acces fusion monster in the era, while cerberus is just a spell counter based beat stick that you need to recharge after every attack. That thing wasn't exactly a play extender from what i'm seeing. Or am i missing some sick OTK strategies here?
I can actually see this archetype getting to at least locals level or (if they keep this support up) potentially be tier one, or at least give decks in that tier a bit of trouble.
The "magical mallet" effect isn't as bad: you can shuffle back 2 copies of the original thunder dragon (assuming you play him) that you added discarding a copy of himself to draw 2 and have the same 2 copies back in the deck so you can later resolver thunder dragon again

So. I've proxied up the deck IRL and it seems pretty busted. All of your monsters provide consistency. You can run NECROFACE, one of my favorite cards, AND you get Gold Sarcophagus as a major plus card. You still play actual Thunder Dragon because the effect isn't once per turn and it searches up to 2, so it can blow up 3 cards in a single turn with Lord out, THAT DOESN'T TARGET. Gold Sarc + Thunder dragon is major plus. Gold Sarc Avian, summon Bolt (+1), activate Thunder Dragon (+2 total), summon Thunderbolt from extra deck, Summon Lord using thunderbolt and monster in hand (+1 total), banish thunder dragon and bolt from grave, summon Aeon, search origin with bolt, activate origin and 2 thunder dragons to blow up 3 cards on opponents field.
Did you guys watch the video instructing how to use this archetype? The original thunder dragon is actually good since its effect can be used more than once per turn.

The original Thunder Dragon is actually really good for the fusion spell... why ? Use Thunder Dragon's effect, add 1 Thunder Dragon Use it again, add the last 1 (NOT ONCE PER TURN) You have now 2 Thunder Dragon in your graveyard. Find a way to summon/Send to the graveyard/Banish a "Thunder Dragon" Monster (easy tho) Use that Fusion Spell For Thunder Dragon Lord by shuffing the 2 "Thunder Dragon" and the "Thunder Dragon" monster. Guess what ? You can then use Thunder Dragon Lord's effect twice, cause your last copy of Thunder Dragon in your hand can still search 1 Thunder Dragon, then the last one too.

Searching thunder monsters you can search thunder king raijo and summon him at the end of your turn and lockdown your opponents' options.

And isn't once per turn.
you could probably run with predaplant as well to get more dark material for the chaos and to search the fusion spell

The original Thunder Dragon is actually really good for the fusion spell... why ?
Use Thunder Dragon's effect, add 1 Thunder Dragon
Use it again, add the last 1 (NOT ONCE PER TURN)
You have now 2 Thunder Dragon in your graveyard. Find a way to summon/Send to the graveyard/Banish a "Thunder Dragon" Monster (easy tho)
Use that Fusion Spell For Thunder Dragon Lord by shuffing the 2 "Thunder Dragon" and the "Thunder Dragon" monster.
Guess what ? You can then use Thunder Dragon Lord's effect twice, cause your last copy of Thunder Dragon in your hand can still search 1 Thunder Dragon, then the last one too.
