byt the way, just want to let you know that I have made the toddler ponchos and beanie hats for my great grand daughters for Christmas. My daughter has been making adult beanies hats for all of her friends and family as Christmas gifts. Thanks for all your help!!
Hi, I think that is a very nice thing for you to do :) These parents need all the support they can get and a little handmade something will be very nice
Thank you...My sister and I started chrochet in December and I ave to say that yours is the channel we watch the most. You make it so simple. Thank YOU .
I don't understand how people don't get how to do this...it's pretty simple. It's so simple, in fact, that I have never crocheted in my life, but I watched this video, went to the store and bought a hook and yarn, and am almost done making my first crocheted beanie. Don't be lazy, listen to the directions and learn the stitch from WATCHING. Thanks for the great video, it's very clean and thorough. You have crazy fast skills!
I've never made any accessories by crocheting before, but by following your video I got something that resembles a hat. Thanks for the step-by-step instructions!
thank you so much! I made my first beanie ! it is being donated to a hospital baby unit! I would recommend that you watch the video all the way through first...then grab the yarn and hook, and crochet along! I hope to use the whole skein to make hats for the hospital! Thanks again, for taking the time to make these videos! Kim in Michigan
You video is the one and only video that could explain to me how to make a hat. I've been struggling with patterns (I'm a brand-new crochet-er) and didn't quite get how to make a hat without it getting "wavy". Increase! that's the secret! thank you so much!
I have tried several other beanie patterns in the past with no luck..I have been crocheting since January and I finally did it..I made my granddaughter the beanie and finished it with the easy pretty rose flower. It is beautiful!!!
Thanks so much for your step by step instructions. I found them very easy to follow, and I'm happy to say I just completed my first beanie. I have been crocheting for years and always wanted to learn how to make a something more than a blanket. Now that I'm a grandmother, I'm very excited to know how to crochet beanies for my sweet little granddaughter, Mathilde. You can be sure I'll be watching your additional videos for new projects! Blessings...
I just started crocheting about 3 weeks ago. I love this vid it is so easy. I can make one of these in about 45 mins. The video is well done and very easy to follow. I have found that if you just do one step at a time it works great if you miss something just go back and watch that part again.
This is the best tutorial for making a hat! Clear instructions and made the whole process super easy for me to do! Thanks so much! I am already on hat #2!
I would like to send you my greatest appreciation for your videos. I am hooked on to crochet after seeing your easy tutorials. I was about to give up as the other videos didn't make any sense to a begineer like me. I am so glad I came across your tutorials before I put my hook down! You have made it very simple for begineers like me to understand everys stitch. I am very thankful for your efforts. God Bless you!
I'm an absolute beginner but I do a lot of knitting.. and your video is the only one that I can successfully follow. yes, it's a little cone shaped, but for my first ever try at crocheting... I'm very happy with it :D Thank you!!!
This is great, thank you! All the other videos I've seen just assume that people already know how to crochet and they fast-forward through the actual stitches.
I just made a beanie from watching this video. I love it and will be making more once I find the color of yarn I want. Thanks for all the videos, you are an awesome teacher ;)
Thank u so much! I have watched around 30 other videos and been on so many websites trying to figure out how to make it and yours is the only one that was easy enough for me to understand.
I wanted to thank you SO MUCH for posting these videos! They have been a tremendous help with learning to crochet. I am only 14 years old and yesterday finished to make an ADORABLE beanie for my 3-year-old cousin. I absolutely love your variety of tutorial videos, and I appreciate the time it must take to do it all! Thank you so much! :D
I am trying to make my first hat for my son's 1st birthday party. It will be a dinosaur hat. This video has helped me more than any book or other video I have looked at!! My grandmother can crochet great but she lives too far away for her to teach me. So I am using your video to teach me! Thanks!!
Definitely the clearest video I've found. I was seriously struggling before I found this and now I'm on my way to finally making my dad a beanie! THANK YOU!
Thank you so much for this video! I read a lot of articles and watched many videos about crocheting, but this was the first one that actually made sense. I made a great little beanie and I'm counting down the hours until I can go back to the yarn store to buy supplies for the next project!
My god I love you! This is my first beanie and I am a newbie in crocheting! I followed your instructions and...tadaah, I have a beanie for my little niece! Thanks a lot! :)
Thank you so much for your help!!! :) I've completed my first first crochet project and i loved it!! thanks to you .... I DID this little beanie for my two months baby boy... also i went ahead and did the bear eaars on the beanie and made the flap ears and the braid that you did for the owl beanie !!!! it ended up looking great i loved it!!! thank you ! for being so easy to understand and also for the free patterns!!! i might send you a pic via Facebook as soon as my baby wears it :)
I'm looking forward to trying this out. My friend inspired me to try to hat pattern, he's (I know! a male crochet-er, so adorable) always saying how approachable this pattern is. :) Happy face.
thank you! i went from not knowing anything, to making my first hat! now if i can get my hands to stop hurting and my measurements alittle more accurate, i could have a hat that fits either one of my boys!
I had a similar problem so I stopped a few rounds shorter than the last ones and it turned out really well. I was so happy. I'm new to crocheting and get too excited and impatient to so that may have also been part of the problem.
So I fixed my own problem, I started from scratch and did a much looser stitching than before and it helped a lot. My numbers still didn't work out the way it should have so I did end up deviating a bit there but it still came out very nicely!
I'm so grateful to have found your you tube channel & website!!! You have taught me how to crochet and I LOVE how you show each project step by step and verbally go over the steps repeatedly. This helps me to learn the stitches, stay on track with the video tutorial and remember how to do all the different stitches. Please cont. to make more video tutorial projects. You are my favorite you tube subscription!
thank you so much, I love the little beanies, you do, I also love the mile a minute, the colors are beautiful. I subscribed, cause I love the different kinds of hats you do. I realy love that people teach us new things, please don't stop. ; D
Thank you for your video. I am just learning and am making a beanie. I was doing fine but needed to see how to close the row and start the next one. Your video helped a lot!!
I have to thank you for this video, it has helped me tremendously. I have been working on a hat pattern for my toddler grandson using the hdc and no matter what I did there was a crooked seam in the back of the hat so I have incorporated what u have shown me with the other pattern. What a relief, I have been trying for weeks to get it to come out without a seam. Thanks again! Debbie Peck
I think I've figured it out (20 tries later)my yarn isn't the same as the one you used so my hook needed to be bigger. It didn't matter how loose I crocheted, it still came out tight. It's late now, I think I'll start it again tomorrow. Happy crochet!
I love all of your videos. I learn and enjoy. I do not enjoy reading, figuring out, and keeping eyes on the pattern and then my work. I am so very thankful for the videos. I can hit the stop and go, to keep up with making pattern with you. I am not computer savy, I have to figure out how to get the patterns I paid for, how to get pictures on and share with you. Thank you and your friend for all your hard work. You all are awesome.
I really love all of your stuff. I've actually sold a few headbands that I've made with your help to my friends :) Thanks SO much for making it easy for me to learn how to crochet!
thank you so much i never knew how to do read the pattern but the visual is so much easier to learn i making my grandbabies hats for xmas gifts god bless u
This video helped me so much! I watched other ones and they confused me so much!! Thank you for making this video nice and clear! And thanks to you I made my first beanie just in time for Christmas!!
Excellent tutorial! Finished a hat and added a rose from your tutorial too! Though I never ended on a double and it was slightly wonky but thought it was ok for the first try. I'll keep practising though!!
Thank you so much. I've been knitting for a while and I'm just now learning to crochet, your tutorials are the easiest that I have found! Very easy to follow ;)
I like this hat better because I seem to add or miss stitches when I have to do a slip stitch... this one is just so seamless. One thing that I do find though is that it doesn't seem to show as much if I do a row of single crochets in a different color, as a border! :)
thank you so much for posting this! I am in the 7th week of my first dreadlock journey, and my hair is becoming quite unruly. I can't find any decently priced beanies, and came across your videos. I have subscribed. I will let you know how my first one turns out!
HI there, try using this The mathematical formula for getting circumference if you know the diameter (measurement across hat). Keep making increase rounds until you measure from 1 edge to the other and multiply that number by 3.142 & the answer you get is the measurement of the circumference of the head hope this helps
Your hands fly so fast, it amazes me how well I can understand it when the more beginner-centric videos had me bumbling and ruining my pattern. Thank you for posting this :D Pretty sure I've already messed up, but I'll keep trying--it's only the second thing I've tried to crochet. The first was a granny square that turned into a Dalek (Doctor Who).
Hi, I see form you channel that you are in the USA, if you used worsted weight yarn it will be thicker than the yarn that i used in the video. To make it curl up I would use a smaller crochet hook :)
I found this the easiest video out of them all and made the biggest circle to date i have done 12 stitchs to start off with but it is flat at the moment my last round at the moment is 4 increase 4 increase im hoping it will turn into a hat
@sokrrose Im not to sure why the beanie would start to ripple, normally its becasue there are too many stitches, maybe try using a larger hook ? the finished beanie will be bigger though
thank you so very much for your tutorials!! it's literally "step by step"... i'm so happy to have found your channel!!! I'll finally be able to crochet a beanie!!! I'm so excited now!! :D haha
You do such great work and you work hard to get all your videos on TH-cam so that we can all learn and make our own garments. I thank you for this. You're awesome.

Hi, I think that is a very nice thing for you to do :) These parents need all the support they can get and a little handmade something will be very nice
EXACTLY Pina... I have seen some who throw their yarn by hand and not just the hook to do the work. She is an excellent instructor.
Thank you...My sister and I started chrochet in December and I ave to say that yours is the channel we watch the most. You make it so simple. Thank YOU .

You have the BEST crochet videos...I am an absolute beginner and could crochet a headband by just looking at ur video! Seriously, you rock!
thank you so much! I made my first beanie ! it is being donated to a hospital baby unit! I wanted to thank you SO MUCH for posting these videos! They have been a tremendous help with learning to crochet. just finished my very first baby beanie hat!! I didn't turn out to bad. Thank you for taking the time to make this video,Great job!!!!!!
Thank you! Finally someone who holds the crochet hook the way I learned (European style), not like a pencil. It's so much easier this way!
Just finished my beanie and it worked perfectly. This was a great video. So easy to understand and follow.. Big thanks
This was by far the best tutorial I've seen. I'm just a beginner and I was able to make a beanie for my younger cousin!! Thanks!!
Hi, thanks for your kind comments
RE the hat, I would try a smaller hook, its is laying fat because of the tension is loose
I am trying to make my first hat for my son's 1st birthday party. It will be a dinosaur hat. This video has helped me more than any book or other video I have looked at!! My grandmother can crochet great but she lives too far away for her to teach me. So I am using your video to teach me! Thanks!!
OMG thank you! I learned how to crochet a hat in less than an hour using this vid. Thanks!
Definitely the clearest video I've found. I was seriously struggling before I found this and now I'm on my way to finally making my dad a beanie! THANK YOU!
My niece loves her new beanie! (It's the only hat she hasn't tried to rip off) She's 4 months old. Thank you for these easy instructions!

Watching this and the bow tutorial (having never crocheted properly) I made a hat with a bow tonight. =D I'm so proud of myself lol
This was AWESOME!! It was really thorough and guided me well. Thank you very much! My Mommy is so pleased that I am able to make hats! :)
So I fixed my own problem, I started from scratch and did a much looser stitching than before and it helped a lot. My numbers still didn't work out the way it should have so I did end up deviating a bit there but it still came out very nicely!

Great video! I'm teaching my youngest daughter how to crochet and she loved your video and your accent!:-)
Hi, I would have a read of the yarn label that you used to make the hat, this will give you a idea on water temperature etc
So easy to follow and takes no time at all. Thanks so much!!!
I looove all of your videos! Its really hard to get a decent video with good instruction. Thank you so very much for you help :)
thank you so much, I love the little beanies, you do, I also love the mile a minute, the colors are beautiful. I subscribed, cause I love the different kinds of hats you do. I realy love that people teach us new things, please don't stop.

Cant wait to try this. Looks faster than what I have been doing. Thanks for the video.
Thank you, I will have to check that video for the ear flaps. I guess adding them as I go would be easier :)

You have the BEST tutorials ever! Thank you! Thank you! I have learned to much from you!
after you have finished you row, so a chain 1 stich and then pull the stand of yarn though. This will secure you yarn and then sew the ends in
This is a great pattern, so easy to follow. I encouraged my sister to follow you because she is learning to crochet. Thank you.
Your hands fly so fast, it amazes me how well I can understand it when the more beginner-centric videos had me bumbling and ruining my pattern. I absolutely LOVE your videos!!! I just had to tell you that! Thank you so much!
Just learned to crochet 2 days ago and made my first beanie tonight it looks great and I love your video!
Thanks for the tutorial:) After watching several videos, this one was the one that finally made it click!
Hi, I see form you channel that you are in the USA, if you used worsted weight yarn it will be thicker than the yarn that i used in the video. To make it curl up I would use a smaller crochet hook :)
just love i t i learned alot i have been crocheting for20 years. But i did not understand patterns;Thank you very much
.
This is my favorite hat instructional. It works for me. I use it as the foundation for most of my hats. Thanks.
I found this the easiest video out of them all and made the biggest circle to date i have done 12 stitchs to start off with but it is flat at the moment my last round at the moment is 4 increase 4 increase im hoping it will turn into a hat
Just finished this hat. GREAT video.
@ariesfairies I would start by using a 5mm or 5.5mm hook, the 4mm is to small for the yarn :) see how that goes
Hi! I’m dyslexic, but you made this really easy to follow. Repetition is key! 🤗 THANK YOU!!
G'day Genie B thank you so much for your wonderful feedback, happy crochet
Hi, depending on how many rows you make is the length of your hat, I like to make my hat to go over my ears
Hey. I'm 13 and love doing this stuff. Luv this instruction bid. Making my 2nd hat with this instruction
:D haha
Wow, this is really helpful, I'm actually not doing a half poopy job!
Thank you!
Thank you so much for your tutorials. Because of your excellent teaching I'm able to make lovely gifts for my loved ones.
with the 8ply yarn/Doubleknit/sportweight yarn I used it was for a baby... If you use worsted weight it will come out bigger
You do such great work and you work hard to get all your videos on TH-cam so that we can all learn and make our own garments. I thank you for this. You're awesome.
+Patricia Teeters You are very welcome and thank you for watching
Patricia Teeters s
Thank you for making this video, it is the easiest i have found and helped me to make my first beanie!
Used this pattern, followed your easy instructions and my beanie looks great and fits perfect! Thank you so much!
