  • Mac and Steve head out early in the morning headed on a two plus hour road trip to Detroit...but first we swing by a spot reported on the Mackenzie River just outside of Blue River and get some asbestos samples for a future cleanup (tests came back - asbestos in the roof mastic!)
Up at Detroit we've got an ambitious schedule...clean out, tear down and remove the floor and cut up the frame and do everything in a single day! We quickly get to work cleaning out the contents...including a clogged sink full of dead mice...and we start using middle out decryption to cut apart the RV...starting by making the door wider and wider for better interior access for cleaning. We get the front, sides and roof off and completely fill up the dump trailer.
Steve takes off for a two hour plus trip into the nearest dump in Salem...part of the reason why we have a problem like this out here...while Mac stays behind and starts cutting up the back third of the RV. With Steve gone and no winch to assist it's slow going. Mac takes a toilet seat to the head.
Steve returns with the dump trailer. We load up what Mac removed, pull off the floor and start cutting up the frame...and we realize that the septic tank is completely full! 480 lbs of sewage. We puzzle over solutions on how to load a completely full tank into the dump trailer...something both Steve and Mac missed the last time we were here.
Join us for an epic cleanup adventure as we remove this illegally dumped RV from the woods outside Detroit, Oregon in the Willamette National Forest. Volunteers in action!

You both do excellent work. It all looks dangerous, but handling that aluminum made me cringe. What you do makes a big difference. Be safe out there.

@@dennissarver1963 They try but it's pretty impossible. Who's to say the names or VINs we find aren't from stolen items. There's enough plausible doubt to make prosecution just about impossible.
