1 mg per day of fin is simply way too much for me, too many side effects. I am 62 and have decent hair, but I’ve started on Finn and min to attack slightly thinning frontal hair recession. I was thinking if I should back off to three times a week?
So glad you clearly stated that taking things like biotin are completely pointless for most people, unless suffering from a true deficiency which is extremely rare.
I have Shedding from Hashimoto's and Dermatomyositis. It has increased and with no end to it . Going bald ! I should mention that I started having Ulcerative Colitis in August all of a sudden . It lasted till Jan . It has reemerged recently ! 😢 I have bought some supplements . What form of D , and how much B12 and iron should I take for anemia problem I have had for many years ? . Im basically a vegetarian . But have tried adding organic meat lately
Good afternoon, I am a 54 female diagnosed with androgenetic aleopicia 7 years ago, I had a scalp biopsy too, I have had blood work done too, however, I was out on spironlactone 1 & half years ago! And still on it, Does taking vit d, zinc, collagen, and hrt make my shredding worse? ❤
As they mentioned in the video, neither Vitamin D, Zinc or Collagen will worsen your hair loss. It has no role on genetic hair loss (receding hairline) and only a possible positive effect on hair density as they address hair loss over your entire body and head. They will not have a huge effect however and might be unnecessary (the Zinc at least). Collagen and and Vitamin D are generally reasonable supplements to take at the right dosages, same for Omega 3s. Hormone replacements are far more impactful, but mostly if it is Testosterone, but I do not know too much about HRT.
a mate of mine used a lot of creatine, did a bit of steroids in his youth. Is a mad Gym-Junkie.. & was bald as a badger by 21. Vikram & Knudsen’s advice , sounds pretty spot-on..
Keep in mind…anabolic compounds cannot cause male pattern hair loss…they can only accelerate loss you were already going to experience at some point. If you’re hair is genetically programed to be resistant to DHT, no amount of steroids will change that.
Hi Doctors and subscribers. I just want to know how true is mixing LCLT L Carnitine L Tartrate in minoxidil can be more effective in growing facial hair.
So this is a somewhat weird way to approach the question. There are many dermatologists in the States who recommend specific hair growth supplements claiming there’s good evidence they support hair growth like Viviscal and Nutrafol. Are you saying theses supplements are useless? Or are you saying they may only be good for shedding but not androgenic alopecia? What about these brands? The one I take has AminoMar Marine Complex, Horsetail (stem) extract, and Flax Seed Extract - this is Viviscal for Men.
hello doctors, 2 questions about testosterone induced hairloss, is it possible that the raise in free testosterone caused by finasteride will aggravate hairloss in people who are more susceptible to testosterone, and is alfatradiol effective against this, so if someone adds alfatradiol use on top of taking finasteride would it help prevent the hairloss that could occur from the increased testosterone? Big fan of the show btw, cheers from Portugal.
How big is the effect of constant stress and anxiety on your hair even when you are using finasteride and minoxidil? Also, do antidepressants with the side effect of hair loss accelerate MPB even with fin min?
stress and anxiety has the biggest effect on diffuse thinning, up to extreme shock loss / telogen effluvium even. finasteride just blocks dht to prevent genetic hairloss but won't help with chronic inflammation of follicles due to stress, medication or high sugar / carb nutrition. these will actually effect all parts of the scalp but of course it'll be more noticable in the already miniturized areas
I would like to know about herbal remedies that increase testosterone, such as maca and tribulus. Could they be used to combat the side effects of finasteride/dutasteride without increasing hair loss?
@@VarietzHD Thanks, do you have a source for this? I could not find any info online. Do you mean since it can be taken with food it should not interact with anything?
Can u plz help me out I was using finasteride for the past 2 years it was working fine but now it seems not working at all as my thick hairs are popping out & my scalp becomes oily within a day after shampoo. Should I switch to dutasteride or continue 1mg finax daily
Oily scalp might be caused by something else, especially if it just started occurring. Self assessments regarding hair loss are usually not very beneficial and you should let a doctor scan your scalp from time to time to check in on the progression. Hair falling out is not a guaranteed sign of worsening male pattern baldness. Do not start or switch medications without consoling a doctor first.
Take dutasteride once a week with finasteride daily. The oily scalp doesn't have any relation with taking finasteride or dutasteride, as James mentioned
Can you talk about two key minerals that have connection to regulate androgenetic alopecia? The main key minerals are magnesium and copper which has crucial hair phase growth in men
1) Please give an opinion I am a gym goer but I don't use creatine thinking it will increase my hair loss because I have genetic Hair Loss agent in me. 2) as per your video, I can use creatine which will increase the DHT level in my body, and then I can take finasteride (which I take anyway in micro-dosing) to reduce the effect of DHT. And I will be fine .?
There is no convincing evidence that creatine increases DHT, this is linked to one study on rugby players where both control and test groups saw increases in this hormone. No other study of any worth while statistical power has shown that creatine increases DHT.
@@VarietzHD It's not, there's great studies supporting it's benefits. It can demonstrably increase strength and mass (mass through water retention in the muscles). There's compelling evidence in favour of it's potential cognitive enhancing effects as well.
@@VarietzHD Incorrect. It’s the most studied supplement on the market. Simply put, it’s a cell volumizer. It’s shuttles water into the muscle cells resulting in two things: a more “full” look (not to be confused with a puffy look from subcutaneous water weight) and it can increase endurance and performance in the gym (slightly, we’re not talking about anabolics here) due to being fully hydrated. It cannot begin to compare to anything anabolic but for an over the counter supplement it does have legitimate benefits.

Any shedded hair can regrow. A significantly miniaturised follicle cannot recover.
Not 100% true, there is evidence of "dormant" follicules not active for years still showing regrowth with finasteride use.
I am interested in if two doctors take finasteride themselves.. would be good to know.
