I had finasteride side-effects and stopped for 8 years _BUT_ I simply should have *reduced my dose* until symptoms vanished - lost a bunch unnecessarily. As Russell explains; it's better to have _some_ finasteride in your system because even a little has a positive influence over none at all. One subscription will last me the year.
I had sides with Fin too, tried reduced dose (0.25 mg day) but still had sides, no I use topical RU58841 (eg 400 mg mixed with 60 mil 5% minoxidil) - worked well for me with no sides. I also take 1 drop of 5% minox solution every other day, and do a weekly derma roll (0.75 mm derma pen) .
I don't understand people who won't take finasteride from the start of early loss (unless it's severe negative reaction). It's so cheap and easy to acquire. I discussed in the 90s when I started taking it with my brother, who couldn't be bothered, and now he's mostly bald and i have mostly full hair. I can't really sympathise, he made his own choices.
I had over 15 surgical procedures over the last serveral decades. I was young when i sustained a small burn on my scalp. In the 80's there was only the punch type hair transplant procedure. Long story short my back donor area took a beating. I've been on finasteride for over 18 years and expect to stay on it the rest of my life. Im 61 now and i fear revealing all the damage if i lose my hair. Fortunately no side effects from Fin...take 1mg a day or 3 mg a week.
@rexneedsoxygen7140 has worked great. No loss that I can tell. Still a full head of hair. My dad and siblings had the typical circle on top and receding sides. I've been blessed thus far.
It depends so much on the individual. 40% of native density will look fine for someone with wide diameter hair that likes wearing it short. But 60% native density will not look very good for someone with fine hair who liles to wear it long
I gained almost 1/3 of my hair’s volume in the last year using dutasteride, my hairline area also got thicker and all baby hair grew into normal hair. Somehow this September, I started losing hair crazily, like 200 each shower(no joking at all). My hairline started thinning and receding too. And I started taking another 0.5mg daily but it didn’t help.
Thank you for the video. Could you please tell us what is the typical thickness percentage for new planted bold area that is desirable. In other words will 60% thickness in the vortex make the patient feels he has a full and rich hairline and zone?
I'd be interested in hearing your opinion on how many surgeries one should do. My impression is that people who have 2-3 surgeries end up with much better results than people who only go on the one time.
i am in sydney and i need a prescription can i visit your clinic just for the prescription consultation? cause in website i saw you are mainly focused in hair transplant anyone have idea about this ?
Hello doctor, "When I comb my hair or move hair with my hand, my scalp hurts. Can I know the reason for this? I have been using topical minoxidil 5% 2 years. Is the pain due to androgenic alopecia?" Any remedy for the pain?
What's your experience with minoxidil I have been using minoxidil for 3 months and I am facing hair shading is it normal... And would be your advice for me about minoxidil. ❤ Waiting for your reply 😊
Hair loss treatment is a deeply personal decision, and it's up to each individual to choose what's best for them. The goal of the video is to provide information so people can make informed choices.

Yeah, even doses as low as 0.1mg has shown to have some benefits

What dose were you initially taking and how often? I currently use 1mg on Mon/Wed/Fri for about 2 years and things have been fine for me.
Great channel! I appreciate you guys ❤

Long hair looks ratty on most men, few have the volume for it.
I gained almost 1/3 of my hair’s volume in the last year using dutasteride, my hairline area also got thicker and all baby hair grew into normal hair. hair shedding phase. its totally normal and will pass.
Shedding is normal especially in the rainy season, stick to the dosage with Dut at least thrice a week.
Youre having a shedding phase. Stick with it.

What is the appropriate age for doing the surgery ?

Agreed - but space them over 30-40years; say one per decade IMHO.
I've had 5 hair transplants total. 1 FUE and 4 FUT im 39. but now im on dutasteride so u should be good
Bimatoprost for hair thickness? I've been on M and F for 3 years happy with the results but want it thickness now can u help?
i am in sydney and i need a prescription can i visit your clinic just for the prescription consultation? cause in website i saw you are mainly focused in hair transplant

If it's just finasteride, get it from your GP

Should not have a transplant if not willing to take finasteride or dutastaride. Probably should be on some
Form of minoxidil as well

no. norwood 6 is too far gone. You would be able to have an FUT but the coverage will be disappointing.
i think both of you should fix your hair first before preaching others
