Before watching this video I wouldn’t have considered the square mini but I got it recently on my trip and it’s super cute! One thing about wearing bags on my shoulder I am slightly paranoid that someone can take it easily 😳 personally think the move from caviar towards lambskin is bc they want ppl to replace their Chanel bags more often for sales purposes, caviar might just last forever

For both the square and rectangular mini, are you able to adjust the length of the chain by tying the chains together from the inside of the bag? I know you can't do that with a WOC, but I heard you can do it with the other classic flaps. Great video and thank you for the review! :)

I'm also a fan of the Square Mini. I bought the Timeless Clutch (@ Heathrow!) a few years ago. Hubby + I go to a lot of "events" where hands-free is the easiest way to go. Though I love, love, love the clutch, it can be a bit cumbersome to have to put it under the arm, hold a drink and shake hands at the same time. The Square Mini is perfect for those occasions - and then some!

I assume the rectangular mini is in higher demand due to the fact it can hold the larger phones, like the iPhone 6 Plus. I'm 5'8" and wear my rectangular minis on the shoulder but love the crossbody option for racing thru the mall or to my car...just feels more secure. Sometimes I regret that I passed on a red square mini with silver hardware, think it was caviar, my very first time in the Chanel boutique. However, I felt that chain was almost too short for a small shoulder bag...I just like small bags to hang longer, I guess. I opted for a black lambskin rectangular mini with ruthenium hardware, and now for Christmas my husband gave me a rectangular black caviar mini with ghw.
I saw a video where someone crammed one in on a diagonal, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't fit comfortably. I feel it fits just right in my rectangular minis, because I use a textured Speck case on mine. When I tried on the red square mini and didn't care for the strap drop, I did not yet have the bigger phone.

In my opinion, mini rectangular fits as much as the small classic flap but the m/l flap def fits bit more than mini. According to the price point, I really think it will be great to have these both in your collection, they suit different occasion for sure. That's why I have both and found them really different and both important.
+Nlee I personally don't really think there's that much difference between them. The chain length on the mini is MUCH longer than the medium though so if you want to wear it as a crossbody, it would be good for that! I'm a fan of minis in general so I think there's always room :)

+Anna Wang Lambskin actually tends to fair better with scratches than most people think in my experience. A lot does buff out, it's more the tears and wear to the corners that are the first to show.

I just bought my first Chanel classic flap, and got it in black caviar leather but have seen some YT reviews that show how their bags start to wear off on the corners, and when I see older lamsking bags this does not happen (of course they scratch more and get flat but it seems that the quality of the leather is better). +The Fashion Act Blog I think it's true that the quality of (much) older lambskin is better than the newer bags but I bought a lambskin maxi 6 years ago and the corners started wearing within 3 months. The corners of my caviar flap have started wearing, but that's 5 years of consistent use. Unless you're going vintage, I don't think there's any comparison for durability :)

+gracey285 I'm personally not a fan of the M/L flap but if it's a style you like, you should go for it! The M/L flap has a MUCH shorter strap so you wouldn't be able to use it as a cross body.

I just bought my first Chanel classic flap, and got it in black caviar leather but have seen some YT reviews that show how their bags start to wear off on the corners, and when I see older lamsking bags this does not happen (of course they scratch more and get flat but it seems that the quality of the leather is better). What do you think about this?

+The Fashion Act Blog I think it's true that the quality of (much) older lambskin is better than the newer bags but I bought a lambskin maxi 6 years ago and the corners started wearing within 3 months. The corners of my caviar flap have started wearing, but that's 5 years of consistent use. Unless you're going vintage, I don't think there's any comparison for durability :)

I love the square mini better as well but I'm more of a crossbody girl. Do you know if you can buy that bag with a slightly longer strap?
Unfortunately the square mini just comes with one length strap as far as I know.
The price increase is crazy now. If only I bought the square mini few years ago, I could buy another bag or an slg for how much one of these costs. Classic and gorgeous though.

+Andrea Castillo If the hardware tarnishes, Chanel will replace or repair. I personally love GHW and wouldn't be scared off at all!

+gracey285 I'm personally not a fan of the M/L flap but if it's a style you like, you should go for it! The M/L flap has a MUCH shorter strap so you wouldn't be able to use it as a cross body.
