I grew up dreaming of getting a glimpse of how they did it. It was always a huge mystery. 'The Beatles sound'. Especially this album! I never thought at 58 years old I would be watching a video like yours revealing the secrets. Great job!
If anyone attempts to demix/remix the Beatles they MUST use those "brilliance" box EQ points. I use them HEAVILY.

Since I picked up the Abbey road collection last year, I think I've used them in some form or another in every mix I've done. Such versatile plugins, and they just sound fantastic.

Do you have any insight on Peter Jacksons software? Or is it a big secret still? What he did with GetBack and the nagra tapes and the work he and Giles did on revolver simply blows my mind! Only because you can dig so deep into the Beatles work.

Amazing video, it's crazy how close you get to the sound! With regards to the plugin presets, would you also be able to export them as .xps files instead of .tfx? The .tfx files are Pro Tools only, it seems.
Great stuff! You just earned yourself a sub. This was really what I was looking for but sad thing I don't have pro tools. Can you screenshot all the presets and put it in the dropbox?
Hey Clay. I love these videos, man. Great stuff. I’m still trying to get my hands on the RTB book and I feel like these videos cover a lot of what’s in there which is awesome. I have a ration for you though when it comes to mixing. Do you ever worry about aliasing with some of the waves stuff? I’ve been needing out on technical stuff lately and I know they don’t use oversampling or anti aliasing filters. Given the amount of extremely high end gear you use, I’d be curious for your take on that during the mix process.

This is great Clay. Honestly there's no better. Those of us who can't get the UA Fairchild emulator have you got any other suggestions ? I think I've got a Puigchild but 🤷🏻♂️

Great videos, thank ...Yeah to nail the Ringo / Tame impala drum sound I found 'Use only 2 (or 3) mics, one on the overhead snare, one on the bass drum. Then T-Racks compression or Waves, Abbey Rd. Done.
Okay, downloaded the tfx preset files kindly uploaded by the multi-talented and all round nice guy Clay, but now what? I have no idea which preset goes with which plugin and they appear to be in a different format to Waves plugins, and as pro tools tfx files there seems no way of getting pro tools to load them. Anu ideas? Love, love, love from Christoph
Hi, Is it possible to get the raw multi tracks for these sessions for use in education/ teaching? ..
also, which gtr is the preset " guitar balls" for? I'm guessing it's the lead gtr? and "mid 60's guitar warmth" is for the rhythm?

Yo Clay, are you planning on doing a Revolver course? I'm not sure which preset file name goes with which plugin, can you do a list or something please??? BTW I cant see your mono mixes in the Dropbox.
Not sure about a course but possibly some more content and probably an unrelated to the Beatles course

@@matthewotooleis it’s always changing. It I am thinking about something for that to make it a course. There’s plenty of guys better than me out there but I enjoy mixing maybe the most of everything I do

Which one do you usually use on vocals, the tg12345 or the redd desk?
Also I noticed you have the redd desk on the bass. Are you using it to boost the highs?

Any chance you could upload the presets for logic users?
I need to figure out how to do that. I don’t use Logic so I am unsure of how to convert the presets ? Any ideas ?
@@BoulevardRecording Bit hard without access to logic. Maybe just post some screenshots of the plugins. BTW loved your Abbey Road course.

I always save the presets in the plugin itself, then it works cross-platform.
