Whats the max input charging wattage and is the 15/15max pro different ? What’s the max output video output frames per second and is it 720,1080 or 4K? Does garage band work for touch pads or any instrument with or without type c external power .? Is the audio louder on earpeace and regular videos any better or louder than the iPhone 12-14?
The same is most likely true for the webcam, where as the Elgato HD60S(+) most likely doesn't work, because it needs drivers. Where I'd bet that an Elgato CamLink (4K) would work with a powered hub(?).
I tried my 15PM with the Rode AI-1 audio interface connected to my Sennheiser MKH416 and it worked beautifully. This is a dream for quick pickups but I'll still use my MBPro for long VO sessions. So cool.
I doubt it. The Thunderbolt 3/4 specification requires a port to supply 15W of power. The USB4 spec requires 7.5W. And USB 3.2 requires 4.5W. While I can see them upping it to 7.5W and giving us USB4, I doubt they'd go for 15W with such a small battery.@@beardfm

Great stuff. Very cool that a USB hub can do all that including Ethernet! Do you know if any external SSD's allow for the 10Gb/s transfer speed available on the 15 Pro/Max or is that limited to laptop interfaces? Most external SSD's seem to tap out at around 1,000Mb/s with a few at 2000Mbs.

Love this video! Feed was bombarded with same typical videos, finally a different video about the phone that actually matters!
Appreciate that! Thanks for watching
How about getting lossless audio on headphones via USB-C?
What about a docking station? It would be interesting to get a MacOS dEx equivalent
Great video! Quick question, Can the video recorded on to an external drive be edited on the iPhone?
Of course!
The RME interfaces work with iPhone for years. I bet this will make the connection easier because now you don’t need an adapter.
Thanks for the informative video. It's a shame that cameras don't work directly on the USB-C port. I was looking for a endoscope camera from Aliexpress, but that probably won't work on the iPhone 15 ProMax.
Yeah I've tried several USB webcams and none of them are recognized
Great video. Can you do the same thing with iphone 15? or its just the pro that lets you plug in the external drive?
Works with iPhone 15 as well! I show that in my latest video: th-cam.com/video/3RWQ_pmIRTo/w-d-xo.html
Please try an external mini display like the one from xperia phone.
Well done apple people. Ur finally catching up to modern times. By modern times I means 10 years+ ago. Great innovation. Amazing.
One of the most clear and concise videos I have ever seen on youtube. All of my questions were answered! Keep it up man!!
Appreciate that! I do even more testing, including connecting to a Studio Display, here: th-cam.com/video/3RWQ_pmIRTo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=peApXj774cv_yAFv
Love this. TH-cam needs more videos like this. Especially loved the Ethernet findings.
appreciate it! Did some additional testing here: th-cam.com/video/3RWQ_pmIRTo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=k8N37ysv0zrNzRSP
I wonder if the cameras and audio interfaces would have worked if plugged into the powered hub? Great video by the way! You got a sub!!
Thanks! Tested again and audio interfaces do work, but camera still does not: th-cam.com/video/3RWQ_pmIRTo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=b36L8owr1HrynvT1
3:34 The handshake only happens if both iPhones (or Android phone) are USB-C, if you connect a lightning iPhone to a USB-C one, the lighting iPhone will always charge, no matter the battery percentage on both.
Excellent video, just wondering what would be the best way of recording video to a storage device but ALSO having an external microphone like the Shure MV5 I have.
I’ve tested multiple ways and it seems there’s not enough bandwidth to accomplish that. I actually recording the audio to my iPad while recording video on my iPhone to SSD and just did a multi cam clip to sync it up
Thank you for your reply. I look forward to being a subscriber to this channel. A.
Hey brotha! Great video! Do you happen to know if you can connect the iPhone via USB C directly to a newer camera (I have the Canon R5 Mark II) and transfer files that way? The wireless option works great, but it would be nice to save battery life by transferring with a cable connection. Thanks in advance!
If the camera can appear like an external drive, then it would show up in the iPhone files app, yes!
Great video! Are you able to try to connect a camera with USB C and do the photos immediately show up in Files?
Oh I’ll have to try that, but I don’t think so
The 15 ProMax gets the USB 3.1@10Gb speed & the Base model 15 just gets the USB 2.0 @480Mbps, (still the same low speed as the lightning), right?
Nicely explained & straight to the point video.
Thanks for sharing.
Is that right?
Why would they deliberately bottleneck it at USB2.0 speeds?
If it's just to entice you to spend more for the ProMax, that's so disingenuous. Although typical Apple.
I believe that’s correct! And thank you 🙏🏻

Yes. I just watched a couple other TH-cam about it showing that.
In the future USB C for the iPhone will get improved to be able to handle multitasks at once or more tasks that aren’t currently available
Just the TH-cam video I was looking for! 🤩 Thank you sir!
Thanks for watching! Even more updates in the latest video: th-cam.com/video/3RWQ_pmIRTo/w-d-xo.html
@@beardfm Danggg I watched it and it even made me more inclined to buy the iPhone 15 Pro. The power and capability the USB C port has to offer is just 🔥. Much love from the 🇵🇭✨! I just subscribed to ur channel! 🤩
Can I use some part of this video in my upcoming shorts?
great testing video, but I'm curious about my mechanical keyboard and the wired gaming mouse. Not sure if the new iPhone can work with them.
It should !... iOS has supported wired Keyboards since the 30pin days. Mouse support was added in iOS 13 and newer.
Will text!
It make difference because i use to play games on iphone, ethernet cable directly to iphone significantly make change to network
I would have been curious to see if the webcam/audio interface would have worked if you plugged into the hub first and add additional power through the hub.
One of the best video on iPhone 15, you have just proved that a new feature ( USB C) is not just gimmick. Now the gap between Android and iPhone is in millimeter. Thank you so much highlighting the real world benefits of USB C.👍👍👍👍👍
there are a few things more that come into my mind, maybe i missed it on the video but what about game controllers, usb-c headphones, other input devices like mouse/keyboard? nice video though!
Amazing tests! Do you know if this would all be the same for the non pro model? Data transfer speeds withstanding.
I’m going to test that this week!
I never saw the potential of a mirrorless camera when I’m not a die-hard professional, more an amateur content-creator. With the iPhone and iPad capable to power all that, believe content creation will hit a new level
For sure! And I have a review video going up tomorrow filmed entirely on iPhone 15 Pro Max!
You actually answered a bunch of my questions but if possible can you answer two more for me? 1st one is does it matter which usbc thumb drive I grab due to write speeds? Like is there a minimum write speed that won’t work? And my 2nd and probably more important question. Can you suggest a splitter that would allow me to connect a usbc thumb drive like the little blue Samsung one you used and my Shure MV88+ mic “At The Same Time”. Please and thank you
I would just stick with Samsung flash drives. From what I’ve been seeing all their work. And I would recommend this hub. Just got it and works great with drive and mic attached! amzn.to/3EQlc5p
Great video, it showed me some techniques I didn’t know were possible. I subscribed today
Awesome! Thank you!
This is what Tech content should be. You've got a new sub
Appreciate that 🙏🏻 more to come!
Did you try connecting the webcam or audio interface with the USB hub with power delivery ? Possibly, that way all external devices + phone will have power enough with the right charger and cable , then those ext devices could be active and recognized
I tried the webcam into the hub with power and it didn’t work. But I did try the Vocaster Two audio interface directly in and that works with no hub required!
