If you want to know why they do this, 1- it's to show how well the trucks suspension is setup 2- the best setup gets further up the ramp which adds to their points overall in the competition 3- when offroad the more your tires touch the ground the further you truck gets.
Solid axles still have the best articulation once modified. It's a lot more difficult to toughen up and modify independent suspension. Remember all the broken Landcruiser 100s with broken IFS? And the latter release of the 105 with a solid front axle from the 80?
I'm all for the Aussies having some bad ass rigs but the best I have ever seen was Yank and the trucks name is White Knight. It gets 90 degrees no probs. Was this Aussie beast parked at the Ateco Warn Winch Challenge on the weekend cause it looks real familiar. Wish I got to see it in action.

Your oversized hummers are no use against our tight aussie tracks, plus the lack solid axels, flex and ability so squeeze around tight corners and small gaps in trees. hiluxes and patrols are built for it. i dont seen any hummers in the tuff truck comp mate. Mostly only hiluxes cruisers and patrols.
