Yes! I love that so many people are watching this. Season 1 is genuinely some of my favorite superhero media ever. With your concern over how many seasons there are, you really don't need to watch all of them if you aren't feeling it. Unfortunately it has a pretty big drop in quality about halfway through. Watching the first 2-4 seasons really gives you the best the show has to offer. Can't wait to see more
This was a good show, Grant Gustin did great as the Flash. But you should know that this show intertwines with other CW shows - Arrow, which was first, then Flash, then Supergirl, then DC's Legends of Tomorrow (which is a team of the side heroes who pop-up in Flash and Arrow, and make their own team), then Black Lightning. And Superman and Lois, but that might be its own thing that branched off. There are also a couple of animated movies and shows, but they aren't really necessary. And there was a Constantine show that ran for a season, but that one also isn't really necessary. So if you would like to only watch the Flash, just know that there will be a lot of missing context for the big team-ups that occur each season.

Most people are gonna tell you to stop watching on season 3 or 4, but there is a subplot in season 5 that is pretty good +it has the 100th episode special, the first half of season 6 is great, and season 9 has 2 of my favorite episodes in the whole show
The first season of The Flash really was something special. While I’m not a fan of the direction the show eventually took, these early episodes are still a ton of fun and hold a special place in my heart as a Flash fan.
Up to season 4 is the best. (Including season 4) season 5 has a great crossover with other shows you don’t really need to see the other shows to appreciate it but for emotion of the actors I’d suggest watching some episodes either on your own or a reaction Edit:I like all seasons in certain arcs even season 9 episode 9 is the best but I like it. I love the CW superhero shows so I hope you have fun, you’re in for a long haul but it’ll be a fun one. I know some people may not like these shows or think they’re too cheesy but I love them. Some say they fall off after a few seasons but I personally disagree, however everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Either way whether you watch all of it or only some of it, I hope you have fun with this show! ⚡️ There’s also a bunch of other “arrowverse” shows that take place in this franchise and have crossovers with eachother like Arrow, Supergirl, DC Legends of Tomorrow, Black Lightning, and Batwoman. There are also shows that aren’t directly part of it but are referenced or have some connection like Superman & Lois, Constantine, Stargirl, Titans, Doom Patrol etc. Tho that’s a lot of extra stuff to get into so you don’t have to watch all that if you’re not interested or if it’s just too much, but they’re all very fun experiences. You don’t have to watch it all tho cuz I haven’t seen them all or finished all of them either. Just watch whatever you want when you want and don’t be overwhelmed by it all 😅👍 It’s sad that I love them so much tho and see people constantly shitting on them and saying the later seasons are terrible and unwatchable like, I genuinely don’t understand that at all. I adore the later seasons of The Flash and Supergirl they’re some of my favorites. 🥲 Maybe cuz my favorite characters are either from the later seasons or my favorite things about them are in those. Yay I'm glad you're starting DC shows. You started with the second show of the Arrowverse. For the most part they exist in the same universe, but tell different stories and they typically have 1 crossover story per season. So you'll see adventures with Arrow cast members a tiny bit. I will say for Arrow he's basically Batman in the TV show. He has similar problems and stories like a Batman show would, but with the obvious difference being his weapon choice. Also that Arrow DOES kill people. So I think you should give it a chance and if Arrow doesn't pull you in the first few episodes then it's no shame to just drop it.
When i remember the first season of the flash, the first thought that comes to my mind are 5 episodes; number 1, 9, 15, 22 and the season finale number 23, very good episodes! The fisrt 2 season's of Arrow are pretty dope as well, it'd be great if you could react to those seasons.

Ok. I onow its being told in other comments, bit here's a history lesson for you. This show is part of the Arrowverse. It started on the CW channel with a show called Arrow. Which was dedicated to the Green Arrow character. Barry Allen showed up in season 2 of Arrow for a couple episodes to introduce him as The Flash to be. Season 3 of Arrow started, and the next night Season 1 of The Flash premiered. That is why you saw Barry run to see Green Arrow in this pilot episode. Season 2 of the Flash (and season 4 of Arrow) started on The CW, and Supergirl premiered Season 1 on CBS the same week. The Flash appeared on an episode of Supergirl, and Supergirl appeared an episode of the Flash during this time, marking the first time EVER that shows on different Networks crossed over l. That same season 2 of Flash and 4 of Arrow had them cross over as well. The next year (Arrow season 5, The Flash season 3, Supergirl season 2) saw Supergirl move from CBS to The CW. Also the debut of a 4th show, Legends Of Tomorrow, starts on the CW. So now you had 4 shows on 4 nights on the CW. They also had a crossover during this year where Arrow, Supergirl, and The Flash each hosted an episode of the Annual crossover. There were also characters from Legends of Tomorrow in this crossover. They had these big crossovers each year until the Pandemic. Arrow ran for 8 seasons, Legends of Tomorrow had 7 seasons, Supergirl ran for 6 seasons, The Flash ran for 9 seasons. All can be streamed on Netflix as can Black Lightning. You can find the other Arrowverse shows streaming on Max. Batwoman, Titans, Doom Patrol, Stargirl, and Superman and Lois. Superman and Lois is doing its final season this year on the CW. Only Batwoman actually crosses over with the CW shows during their final cross over. When the CW was bought by new owners, they decided to shift away from scripted shows to reality shows. I could write more but I'm sure I've bored you enough. Only thing I suggest is if you continue to just watch The Flash, be prepared to watch a few singular episodes of the other shows to get the complete story. Either way...I'll be here for it.
Arrow is an amazing show. It has one of the strongest first seasons I've ever watched. If it interests you at all give it a shot. And I would recommend maybe watching at least two seasons of Arrow before getting too far into The Flash. They do a lot of crossovers with other CW "Arrowverse" shows and you will get spoiled if you get too far ahead in Flash. I think Flash is still my favorite of them all but Arrow is about as close as you can get to being as good.
Arrowverse CW shows were so good back in the day. It's a shame that they went downhill towards unwatchable pieces of media that everybody makes fun of. Personally, I'd recommend to watch Flash upt to season 4 (though only first 3 are considered to be actually good) and then watch crossover episodes that Arrowverse shows had. THough you'd have to migrate each series to see them in order, cuz like the Crossover episodes would start in Arrow series, then next part of this story would be in the Flash, the next in Supergirl and the final part in Legends of Tomorrow, with each epsiode being more focused on the cast of the series these episodes go in. So yeah, it's gonna be tricky, so I'd advise to Google crossover episode lists and just be aware of them. I personally never watched Arrow, Supergirl or LEgends of Tomorrow (and especially Batwoman series), so you can stick with the Flash and don't worry about the others.
I would say that Arrow it's pretty good at the start and Supergirl and Legends are not that bad, but everything just went downhill in the end, and it's a shame.
Fun that you’re starting Arrowverse. For a fairly non-spoilery experience, I recommend you binge Arrow at some point so that the timelines line up. Arrow was around for two seasons before Flash started, and if you progress with Flash without the Arrow catch-up, some things may be spoiled when the properties collide (assuming you care about spoilers, lol).
Arrow show was start on 2012, Barry was debut on Arrow season 2 (2013) and The Flash show start on 2014 also with Arrow Season 3. They will have alot of crossover each other in the Arrowverse Series you should start watches Arrow.

I watched till the end because I was addicted to the characters and needed to see how it ends otherwise I would have dropped it like I did with Supergirl and Legends. And from what I saw from his vids he was dumping on the show from season 1 so I don't think he cares one bit, he just hate-watches the show for content.
Fun Fact: The Flash that appears in the Justice League animated shows is not Barry Allen, but Wally West, which... [I don't think this is a spoiler, really, but I'll say it is just in case.] ...is a different wally west from the one that will appear in the show by season 2. That one is based on the New 52 version of Wally West.

The whole series is a big commitment and it does nose dive in quality. I'd say watch the first 3, then decide if you want to to continue season by season. I pretty much tapped out in season 5.
I would totaly recommend you to watch Arrow and the other CW shows eventually and if you like this season of The Flahs you're most likely going to enjoy Arrow and the others. I myself started with Flash but unbeknownst to me there were other TV Shows happening and I didn't understand some plotlines or some characters you are NOT gonna recognize, for example in season 4 it becames literally impossible to understand some plotlines without watching the other TV Shows, and even JUST in Season 1 in episodes 4, 7 and 8 it crosses over. Besides, the other TV Shows are good, I would say some seasons of them are better than the latter seasons of The Flash and if you just stick with Flash you are, eventually, going to get spoiled from the other Shows and that's awful. Personally, I would reccomend watching until the "Crisis of Infinite earths" crossover, but yeah nice journey you are starting I would to see it man all the best to you!
Honestly dude, you're good just seeing the first season of Flash and then literally ONE episode of season 2. Everything then on is severely downhill, and by the time we get to season 5 the show is basically just insulting.
Damn. You’re watching the Flash. I would recommend just watch the first three, maybe four seasons because those are the good ones. First three seasons are great and four is good. I would suggest instead of Flash, check out Arrow. It is the first and best of the shows. Or if you prefer, I would suggest just watch the crossovers. Those always hit on all cylinders.

But you don't have to watch them all if you want to see just The Flash. Of all the TV series I have seen in my opinion the best is Arrow and The Flash. Unfortunately, all these series are getting worse with each season :c

Man.. I was here for the deep dives into characters histories and comic lore, but the last month has been stuff I have no interest in. Keep doing you obviously, just wanted to share that.
You should follow the arrowverse watch order it's not just 1 show plus will answer all the questions you are definitely going to have if you just watch the flash show of the arrowverse.
The first suit he wears in this season is basically a year one suit. Throughout the series it will go through various changes and redesigns *season 5 suit is awful.* I grew up during the first attempt of the flash series with Barry's dad playing a version of the flash. Grant will always be the flash he made the character what it is today. Yes the final season wasn't perfect but I still enjoyed it. Grant has already said if he gets asked to be the flash again he will do it but he said also he would play a different character hero or villain.

So now you had 4 shows on 4 nights on the CW. They also had a crossover during this year where Arrow, Supergirl, and The Flash each hosted an episode of the Annual crossover. There were also characters from Legends of Tomorrow in this crossover. They had these big crossovers each year until the Pandemic.
Arrow ran for 8 seasons, Legends of Tomorrow had 7 seasons, Supergirl ran for 6 seasons, The Flash ran for 9 seasons. All can be streamed on Netflix as can Black Lightning.
You can find the other Arrowverse shows streaming on Max. Batwoman, Titans, Doom Patrol, Stargirl, and Superman and Lois. Superman and Lois is doing its final season this year on the CW. Only Batwoman actually crosses over with the CW shows during their final cross over.
When the CW was bought by new owners, they decided to shift away from scripted shows to reality shows. I could write more but I'm sure I've bored you enough.
Only thing I suggest is if you continue to just watch The Flash, be prepared to watch a few singular episodes of the other shows to get the complete story.

Arrow is an amazing show. It has one of the strongest first seasons I've ever watched. If it interests you at all give it a shot. And I would recommend maybe watching at least two seasons of Arrow before getting too far into The Flash. They do a lot of crossovers with other CW "Arrowverse" shows and you will get spoiled if you get too far ahead in Flash. I think Flash is still my favorite of them all but Arrow is about as close as you can get to being as good.
Arrowverse CW shows were so good back in the day. It's a shame that they went downhill towards unwatchable pieces of media that everybody makes fun of.
Personally, I'd recommend to watch Flash upt to season 4 (though only first 3 are considered to be actually good) and then watch crossover episodes that Arrowverse shows had. THough you'd have to migrate each series to see them in order, cuz like the Crossover episodes would start in Arrow series, then next part of this story would be in the Flash, the next in Supergirl and the final part in Legends of Tomorrow, with each epsiode being more focused on the cast of the series these episodes go in. So yeah, it's gonna be tricky, so I'd advise to Google crossover episode lists and just be aware of them. I personally never watched Arrow, Supergirl or LEgends of Tomorrow (and especially Batwoman series), so you can stick with the Flash and don't worry about the others.
Arrow first seasons also good, and same downhill in late seasons. CW just being CW
I would say that Arrow it's pretty good at the start and Supergirl and Legends are not that bad, but everything just went downhill in the end, and it's a shame.

Fun that you’re starting Arrowverse. For a fairly non-spoilery experience, I recommend you binge Arrow at some point so that the timelines line up. Arrow was around for two seasons before Flash started, and if you progress with Flash without the Arrow catch-up, some things may be spoiled when the properties collide (assuming you care about spoilers, lol).
Arrow show was start on 2012, Barry was debut on Arrow season 2 (2013) and The Flash show start on 2014 also with Arrow Season 3. They will have alot of crossover each other in the Arrowverse Series you should start watches Arrow.

@@yobud6637 if you wallow in negativity it starts to become toxic. Most people dropped the show when it dropped in quality. I watched till the end because I was addicted to the characters and needed to see how it ends otherwise I would have dropped it like I did with Supergirl and Legends. And from what I saw from his vids he was dumping on the show from season 1 so I don't think he cares one bit, he just hate-watches the show for content.
The arrow show is pretty good especially for a batman fan. Most of the villain of the show are batman villain

The whole series is a big commitment and it does nose dive in quality. I'd say watch the first 3, then decide if you want to to continue season by season. I pretty much tapped out in season 5.

I would totaly recommend you to watch Arrow and the other CW shows eventually and if you like this season of The Flahs you're most likely going to enjoy Arrow and the others. I myself started with Flash but unbeknownst to me there were other TV Shows happening and I didn't understand some plotlines or some characters you are NOT gonna recognize, for example in season 4 it becames literally impossible to understand some plotlines without watching the other TV Shows, and even JUST in Season 1 in episodes 4, 7 and 8 it crosses over. Besides, the other TV Shows are good, I would say some seasons of them are better than the latter seasons of The Flash and if you just stick with Flash you are, eventually, going to get spoiled from the other Shows and that's awful. Personally, I would reccomend watching until the "Crisis of Infinite earths" crossover, but yeah nice journey you are starting I would to see it man all the best to you!

These TV series are connected to each other and sometimes even combine episodes together. But you don't have to watch them all if you want to see just The Flash.
Of all the TV series I have seen in my opinion the best is Arrow and The Flash.

The first suit he wears in this season is basically a year one suit. Throughout the series it will go through various changes and redesigns *season 5 suit is awful.* I grew up during the first attempt of the flash series with Barry's dad playing a version of the flash. Grant will always be the flash he made the character what it is today. Yes the final season wasn't perfect but I still enjoyed it. Grant has already said if he gets asked to be the flash again he will do it but he said also he would play a different character hero or villain.
