That was a brush that was put in the air cylinder to prevent pinging sound when firing. It shouldn't be to hard to clean to clean the valve housing and the cylinder should be fine again. No permanent damage done. Just check that the transfer port is not obstructed. The green on the valve housing means that it has been filled with moist air. Use silicone grease whenever you mount a part, it prevents parts from binding. Never use mineral oil based products in your PCP.
I’m an AT44 nut for ten years now and never have I seen plastic debris in a cylinder, very odd. Clean it out, and degrease the cylinder then reassemble, as long as the valve seat and stem orings aren’t damaged all should work well. I stop removing cylinder and filled on the rifle, which minimized leaks down the road. With a good regulator and pellet these rifle can be tack drivers.
