Thank You for sharing, fab episode. I remember watching this storyline on transmission, it was so sad and shocking, especially the previous episode where the firework exploded. Storyline leading to Alan leaving to join Elsie in Newcstle. In real life, Alan Browning joining his wife Pat Phoenix in the theatre. My fave couple on Coronation Street.
Really grateful for these uploads! I've only ever seen one episode with Ken and Janet--they looked so happy in the beginning, shame it all went wrong. Even the cantankerous Uncle Albert liked Janet.
Great. Thank you. I have wanted to see this one for ages. I can't help but feel sorry for Norma. She would have been far better for Ken than Janet I think.
That was one of the reason why the kabin refused to sell fireworks. Len said to Granny Hopkins the following year when the corner shop had them because of what happened.
It was at an organised bonfire, that a stray firework hit me on the hairline creating a permanent bald spot, when I was about 6 or 7. It hurt but Thank the Lord I was OK.
Wow, never thought I’d see this episode which followed the firework accident. Many thanks for sharing it to watch and enjoy VBT, you’re a legend.
what a fun name you have!

Just when I started watching Corrie, and only because Julie Goodyear was from our town of Heywood :) I was 3yrs old :)
That was good fun. I'd love to see "Rene Dubois" 😂
15:02 That was funny. Albert made me laugh there.
Isn’t Annie Walker stuck up 😂
"Kenneth will be so disappointed, and Judith".
Oooops!
Come on now! Don't keep us in suspense. Where's the episode with Monsieur Dubois?😂
This was my 8th birthday

I was only 3 rhen.
Sadly Ray doesn’t appear to be in this episode.
16:28 in this scenes, the reason for mask wearing is to prevent saliva or bacteria entering an open wound.
If my memory serves me right...wasn't this episode shown on the same day of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips Royal wedding by any chance?
I think the wedding took place a week later on 14th November 1973.
@vbt1957 I was only 6 at the time. Have vague memories of it watching at my nanna's and grandad as we were of school.
Why is it rare?
Because its never been released on DVD.
Clssix corrie
Amazing to watch, the days when this country was white.
xenophobe?
@@mariemurray3638 No just pointing out a fact.
@ But an inaccurate ‘fact’. I had at least thirty ‘non-white’ colleagues in 1973, all of whom presumably had families.
@@mariemurray3638 Of course you did, but I am referring to the general demographic.
