I am 60 years old my grandma sister use to make it and she always added eggs and she would place it over the stove for about 10 mins not allowing it to boil and after it cooled she would add the rum but I guess she was making ponche as some of the people are saying .....best I ever had.

That whole bottle was $1.70 when i was growing up...imagine!! Jajajaja
thank you for your old school recipe Julio my mother has a recipe similar to yours with all the eggs I make mine with less then half of that and I don't use nutmeg or all spice to strong for my taste buds but yours is great

Just wanted to tell you this was the best recipe ever! I've made it before but I made it for my holiday job party and it was a huge hit! Thank you for sharing. Only thing is you didn't show when you put in regular milk
Thanks for your recipe. Do you, are does anyone have a recipe for how your grandmother, or great grandmother made coquito? I’m looking for a fresh, no cans version of the drink. Kinda like when someone makes pastellas they old fashioned way, maybe more authentic way. Anyone know how to do the old school coquito? ANd what about the cheese in the bottle version?
Hey Julio! i love your recipes. I just tried to look up your book and its says it cost 80-150 dollars. Is this correct or do you have your own personal website?
Hola Chef Julio.
no it is not the same. all spice is a combination of different spices found in a lot of Caribbean cooking. You should be able to find it at a supermarket or online.

I love this but really? a phillips head screw driver and a hammer? I'm sure you can find something other than a phillips head screw driver.

summereign - Thanks for watching and for your encouraging comment. More of this where it came from. Enjoy...
How much half and half did you use? maybe a full cup? In the beginning you showed the regular milk - where did that go in?
I don't drink alcohol. Is there a substitute that can be used that would provide a similar flavor?
gracias Julio feliz navidaddddddd

Chef Julio....I love your videos!!! I'm going to try this recipe but what is all seasoning?? Is it the same like sazon completa?
no it is not the same. all spice is a combination of different spices found in a lot of Caribbean cooking. You should be able to find it at a supermarket or online.
Thank you for the recipe, I only have one question, what happened to the milk? Is that instead of the half & half? Please let me know. Thank you.
And how much should I use for half & half or milk?
What did you do with the coconut water, did you used it for the milk?
I use it with grey goose vodka on the rocks ..serious.
No eggs, no eggs. if you are a truly Boricua you know that coquito don't have eggs. otherwise it would be an eggnog..
BURN THE COCONUT!!!! LOL
My hip us and still does it the old way with the fresh coconut AND YES HE PUTS THE COCONUT OVER FIRE!
it looks like he used 2 cans of coconut milk
come on no eggs!!! thats ponche. you should know that...
