    You can use this to draw the PCB lines with a marker pen on a copper clad board for etching.

    I want to build one. I love GRBL ESP 32. when you post the STLs on Github, would you make a quick assembly video? Am I correct you use a single belt to drive x and y? These must be small motors? Thanks! I think I have all the parts:-)

    looks cool..but may i ask why or what was difficult to 3d print?? i only ask because from what i see it seems to be straight forward...also what parts were "expensive?? seems to be "off the shelf parts to me...did you just say that to make this look harder than it actually is?? lol it's ok we all do it from time to time, more so on the things we are really proud of!! (something like this) cool project and thanks for the covid craft idea!!

    Looks fantastic. Is there a midtbot_esp32 pcb available on your tindie? or how do you suggest I start to build one? :) I am not too familiar with ordering custom pcbs, but would love to give this a shot. Thinking about using it for STEM education as parts that can be picked apart and assembled/looked at in detail.

    A quick question since you seem pretty knowledgeable. Do you think that with some effort, it would be posslble to use a pen plotter as a printer replacement?
    As a student, I write roughly 50 pages a day on my laptop, and ink-wise it's pure murder. Pens are cheap, ink cartridges aren't.
    I know that one can use Inkscape (copy paste into inkscape) to generate GCode (CNC-stlye) in order to operate a pen plotter - but do you know of any software that would make the task easier? i'm thinking of building my own A4-sized pen plotter, the hardware I can handle, but if the software isn't there i'm kind of boned.

    • @engserve
      @engserve  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know why you need hard copies of everything these days. With that said, I do like to keep a hand written notebook of stuff. It is just a page or two per day. It is the notebook you see in the video. I do use the machine to plot graphics into the notebook sometimes. It is way slower than a printer though.

    Hey, I couldn't find the parts anywhere on your github page, or is there no parts list?

    • @engserve
      @engserve  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The parts and BOM are in "code" are of the repo. That allows regular Github source control. I added some links in the wiki.
      Fo example the STL files are located here github.com/bdring/midTbot_esp32/tree/master/STL

    Hi, nice Project!! Could you mention if there is any option to make it standalone? Like an 3D - Printer?

    • @engserve
      @engserve  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, Actually it is better than most 3D printers in that respect. It has a built in web server and micro SD card. You use a browser (no special app required) on a phone or computer to upload drawing files. You then can print any of the files on the machine.

    • @engserve

      It looks like that creates some non standard gcode like "G28 X Y Z". That looks more like 3d printer firmware gcode.

    • @Makenitso
      @Makenitso 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@engserve yeah it's for 3d printers, wasn't sure what firmware the your pen plotter uses. The desktop version on github has pen/laser friendly features. i'll eventually get around to adding that to the io site. thanks for taking a look anyways :)
