Ah the Continent Hotel! We have stayed there twice. 😊 I keep thinking about trying a different one but, the location and views and food makes me go back 😂. Although I quite like the muse, but the wife would probably complain about it being too dark!
Thank you for your lovely video 🙏🏼. I’ve been fortunate to work helping companies, including hotel chains, to expand overseas. In this matter, we brought a Spanish hotel brand to Thailand in 2020. Do you know what are the criteria for a hotel to get a five-star or a four-star rating in Thailand? The owner chooses it. If the hotel owner says it is a five-star, a five-star it is. Simple like that. If we applied the American Standard (Forbes Travel Guide) or the European Standard (HORTREC), these five hotels would be rated as follows: 1. Le D’Tel: 3-star. 2. The Continent: high-end 3-star. 3. Muse: high-end 4-star. 4. Asai: 3-star. 5. Movenpick: 4-star.
Among the real five-star hotels in Bangkok we could highlight the following ones: 1. Mandarin Oriental 2. The Peninsula Bangkok 3. The Park Hyatt 4. Four Seasons 5. Capella 6. Siam Kempinski 7. Sindhorn Kempinski 8. Kimpton Maa Lai 9. Okura Prestige 10. The Sukhothai Bangkok
Interesting! Currently, only the Asai hotel is sold as a 3-star, though it offers more than the D'tel, for example. The Continent prices are also higher than the Mövenpick...
Any time! I hope you'll like it! Not too far, and I will have a video about it soon, is The Quarter Hualamphong by UHG, with a swimming pool. But i still prefer the Asai
We stayed in the continent in 2019. I checked he price now, May, 2024, and it's about $165US with breakfast and Sky Club benefits. We thoroughly enjoyed the Sky Club Benefits: * Complimentary selected Tapas and unlimited beverages. Cocktail, Mocktails, House Wine, Beer, Soft drink at Medinii 35th floor from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM * Daily breakfast at Medinii 35th floor, from 6:00 AM - 10:30 AM * Complimentary laundry 2 pieces per day
Next time check out IBIS styles Soi 4, shares the building with the Novotel. Only difference is the Novotel breakfast is slightly better but you share the rest of the building including the rooftop pool for a fraction of the price.
Hello please can you give me some advice i have booked a good rated hotel in sukhumvit soi 81 is this too far from all the action or should i book somewere closer to the bars and nightclub like sukhumvit soi 11. Were there are more expensive hotels but lower rated Please give me your choice.
In Soi 81 you are in the On Nut neighborhood. One of the best residential neighborhood of Bangkok, where a lot of expat are living. It's very lively, lot's of shops, of "real" massage parlors, lot's of restaurants. That maybe where I would like to live if I was to live as an expat in Bangkok. But, from ON Nut station, you are 15/20 minutes of BTS away from ASOK and a little more to NANA, which mean you won't be able to walk to where "all the action" takes place! It's a choice I couldn't make for you. Maybe take a look at this video: th-cam.com/video/z4uN8EM8zmE/w-d-xo.html
On the 5 hotels I showed in the video, 4 had rooftop pools, one didn't have a pool. Being on a rooftop, you can't have a giant pool. And most were not in the shade... For the rest of Thailand, check this pool: th-cam.com/video/6xOuVmerC0w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_conpBZYSBg1e7oL
@@WanderlustReports Thank you for the link, that place is a little paradise. The first thing I look for is the pool, when choosing. I’ve seen allot of hotel designs that don’t consider the sun, maybe it’s not important to the Thai’s, it’s awkward in the city, I understand that.
I make completely different experience and would not follow your advice. Specially Hotel Muse I went out again immediately. Compare to Como Metropolitan or Pullman King Power Hotel. or others for the price.

Comfort-wise, the Muse is better, but I really like the Continent.
A most accomplished reviewer provides excellent insights
Thank you very much 🙏
I stayed in Hotel Muse in 2019, it's very beautiful boutique hotel!!!...nice pool nice rooftop bar!!!...i like so much!!..🇹🇭🇹🇭❤️❤️
Yes, I really loved it apart from the lack of light in the lifts
Thank you for your lovely video 🙏🏼.

A legitimate 5-star yet relatively affordable hotel in Bangkok is the JW Marriot, Nana, next to Ploenchit.

Not the Shangri-la?
Thanks for your very valuable comment
What a breakfast and view 9:23 😎
Yes, really a perfect place to enjoy fried eggs 🙂
Excelent video, good guide for trip to this coutry, gracias!
With great pleasure!
Thanks for alerting me to the Asai. Near Wat Mangkon station is exactly where I want to stay.
Any time!

Perfect, then 🙂
Great video!!

I thought about it, Ibis Styles are usually good hotels, but Soi 4 was too close to Nana Plaza for me! 😁
Thank you ,clear presentation but my budget is not enough 😂
Then, you can try Travelodge on Soi Sukhumvit 11 or The Quarter Hualamphong by UHG at the border of Chinatown.
Thank you so much for this videos, super helpful for our upcoming trip to bkk!!!
My pleasure 🙏
I hope you have a great stay in Bangkok
Well , Its mean you know nothing about hotel in BKK just like WDL ...
Yup, nothing! coz that was our first trip. Reason why i watched this type of content here in youtube. got problem with that?
very useful!
Glad you liked it!
all hotels are super epensive during the new year
Indeed, not the best time of the year, price-wise...
IL est beau le Muse !
Effectivement, un hôtel très sympa

Way too far away I recommend the mecuire hotel in soi 11 right bang in the middle off all the action nice hotel fair price
hi Could you tell me the name of the camera that is making the video? tkss
Yes, it's a DJI pocket 2...
In bangkok i only stay in siam and pratunam area
Hotel Muse is close to Siam. Otherwise another great option is Grand Hyatt Erawan.
ตอนนี้แม่อยู่ที่กรุงเทพฯ Bangkok
ฉันหวังว่าเธอจะมีความสุขที่นั่น

I don’t understand why nearly all the hotel pools in Bangkok are small and in the shade? And other places in Thailand!

Remember that most Thais don't like to stay in the sun. They want there skin to be as white as possible...
smoking or not smoking room ?
I don't know, I don't smoke

Well, there is no accounting for taste!😀
I think you definition of 5 star, is wrong the hotels, you stayed, are between 3 and 4 star not 5 star.
Nope!
Muse, Continent and Mövenpick are officially 5-star hotels, D'tel is officially 4-star and Asai is 3-star.
Muse looks like a 5 star but Continent looks like a 4 star. A sauna at Muse? The whole of Thailand is a big huge sauna already.
@@heythave Yes, funnily enough, a lot of hotels, and even condos in Thailand have saunas and hammams.
