      Thank you so so much for the positive feedback Nathi. I was really nervous about doing these because I didn't know how people would receive them... I'm so glad that they're actually helpful! It would be amazing if other universities would also jump on the bandwagon, this would open up so much opportunity for those that didn't get into medical school the first time around!

    Great video Nosipho! ❤️
    I need to share this video with SO many people!
    Questions.
    1. Did you enter the GEMP programme after your undergrad? Or after postgrad? (Also, how did you cope with studying for the WAPT test and your Medical Science degree. 🙆🏾) Well Done for that though. You did the things! 🙌🏾
    2. If you're a postgrad and you make it into the GEMP programme and become a doctor. What would you say are the benefits of having those other degrees under your belt?

    • @dr_nosipho_dm
      @dr_nosipho_dm  6 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Thank you so so much for watching Lisa and I appreciate the feedback!
      1. I entered the GEMP program after my honors degree and as for the studying, I studied for the WAPT in the middle of my finals so I literally divided my day into two and spent half the day studying for my finals and pretty much all night studying for the WAPT. I basically just sacrificed about a month of my life to continuous studying, that and a lot of prayer and immense faith in what I believe Gods purpose for my life is, I believed he would come through if it was meant to be and he did.... so here we are!
      2. The benefits of having another degree is university experience and if you've fought to get into the GEMP we know you excelled so it just makes the transition so much easier because medicine is really challenging and fast paced, o the more comfortable you are in terms of your study skills, methods and working under pressure, the better off you are. It also comes in handy when you're applying for work mainly in the private sector after you qualify.

    Hey! How does a cumulative average of 72% look like if you're trying to get in through GEMP? And also,
    If you do a Masters Program, and the Masters program is two years, and you're in your first year of your Masters and you apply with the intent of having a Cumulative average between your Honours and (1st year of Masters), will this be possible or will you need to complete the two years of your masters? This can be a little tricky. Please clarify this one for me please.

    Thanks so much for the informative video, I am in second year at wits majoring on both anatomy and physiology which of late is not available option for most, so next year I will have to drop one and choose one, I took both because i was stuck in my choices and I am still stuck because in terms of performance its equal for both and still like both. So which one would you advise me to drop next year(3rd year) and have a greater chance of excelling in the WAPT in terms of which one is much easier to do self study and comprehend easily? THANKS

    • @dr_nosipho_dm
      @dr_nosipho_dm  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would advise that you keep physiology because it is a lot more beneficial in the greater scope of medicine and understanding disease processes. However anatomy is a lot of memorizing so if you are struggling with that then you may struggle in the WAPT, if not physiology will benefit you more in the long run.
