      Agreed, I love that he keeps the smalltalk in the videos. It shows their relationship and understanding of one another

    Gotta love Shamir. What a good and gentle soul...his tennis has that gentle nature to it too.
    Nik, when you started doing the torture session...I started feelin' it on my rotators...lol.
    Great session.
    Cheers,
    M

    I used heavy rackets and thought that I would never like lighter rackets. Eventually changed to the HEAD Speed and tried the MP which is 300 grams and never looked back. The racket itself is already more comfortable then my oldest racket, but being lighter just helped me a lot.

      These newer racquets are so stable for their weight it’s really surprising

    Take the 97. Customize it to weight 315g, balance 314mm and swing weight 290 (all unstrung).

    He played thr best with 100 … easy depth , easy spin , fotgiving and easy to swing . And they didn’t try 100D which is arguably better than the 100 with a 18x19 patten , the best of both worlds

    Shamir needs a 100/300gr racket. His level is too low for a 97

    Enjoy Shamir episodes and I like your methodology for comparing various racquets. Personally, I find light racquets too easily bullied by hard hitters-I always need to add weight until it starts becoming sluggish.

  • @roc_co
    @roc_co ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

    Shamir could also experiment with adding weight. Like maybe a leather grip and a few grams at 12 on the 97 to weight it up just a bit but still not as much as the H. 100D Maybe worth trying too, I know he said he doesn't care for dense string patterns but a weighted up 100D might prove to be the best of both worlds. Control, power, and easier to play under exhaustion.

    Ehat about the blade review nick?

  • @yonexfan12
    @yonexfan12 2 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

    Nick or anyone, on kick serves , while testing the 100D, Percept 97D and the H my serve would hit the fence on the second bounce after going in, I'm tall at 6'4" and getting good kick, but with the H the ball would stick into the fence more than the others , very often , indicating more grippy kick spin. My only conclusion was SW is most impactful for kick serves/spin?

      More swing weight more power if you are able to accelerate

    I hope Shamir actually goes and plays matches with the 97. You can't really compare practice to the exhaustion of a hard-fought match and he might notice the true benefits in those tough moments when the match is on the line.

  • @marcelobarros5729
    @marcelobarros5729 2 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

    If Shamir wants to go in between the the 97 and the 97H, just add some weight and make the specs somewhere t in between since they are same layup and same string pattern. The 97 is pretty good and stable in stock form, but it's also a good platform racket.

    To win more matches and learn more on how to make points: 100 or 97. Clear to see in movement, length…; But of course one cannot force someone and it has to be fun.

    Nice video. Can’t stand the vapor 11. Prefer the gp challenge 1 instead. Think Shamir should try lighter and 100sq versions of racquets as others said. Have Percept 100 but too spinny and little plow. Ezone 100 is nice and gives a bit more. Going to demo the vcore 100 soon!

    Static weight of the 330 plus 18 strings and 4 overgrip and maybe 4 dampener requires a monster of an arm to handle the 355 gramms. Otherwise second set onward will be a nightmare…You guys did not consider any customisation. The 100 with 3plus 3 gr on 3 and 9 and 5 on the handle will stabilize immensly the head and add some more solid power and weight of shot.

    Cool stuff, @Samir try the 97 310g with 2-3g lead tape at 12?
    The regular 97 has acording to TW 315 Sw and the 97H 333 Sw. 18 points difference between this two Rackets.

    • @marcelobarros5729
      @marcelobarros5729 2 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      Bigger racket head size are typically stiffer. That's how they get some power from the decreased weight. Unless you go with something like a Gravity Pro.

    shamir is almost always hitting the backhand not properly leaning forward with his body, he would get so much power and control if he did that, better on the forehand for sure

  • @sgkenswil
    @sgkenswil 2 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

    String type and tension are also important

  • @viktorbenedek868
    @viktorbenedek868 3 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +3

    The pace was so slow, that Shamir could handle his 97H.
    In a faster pace, against a big hitting opponent, he would late a lot of balls. Would not be able to manipulate the ball in the last moment.
    And his handspeed looks slow on his forehand, with a stiff wrist, that's why his heavier racquet helps him. He hits with the same slow handspeed with the lighter racquets, but he should hit with faster hand.
    He sould try to hit more lose wrist, fast forehands, than he would hit much bigger with the lighter ones.
    Great video otherwise :)

      Yes, and how would he do with the H on day 3 of a weekend tournament in 100 degree heat, he wouldn't make it taht deep, probably tire out in day 2 playing 2 matches in the same day.

    • @marcelobarros5729
