Solid video and nice channel! I am still on the fence about it. In some cases I find it nice to have so I can‘t bring myself to do a safety button delete altogether 😂
I think the point of the "safety" switch is to stop it running down the battery by turning on accidentally when being transported in a toolbox or bag. The size of the on/off switch would make that a risk.
You are most probably right on that one, however it would be easier to remove the battery during transport than to press this button with every bolt or nut you are trying to fasten.

I wonder could you do a mod to the switch? Maybe it would be as simple to remove the springs so it could be left in the middle position for on and either left or right to be off ???? Another great video thanks
Thank you so much for your support! I can‘t say thank you enough! It means a for a channel like mine! As for the safety switch let‘s call it it is easily removed. All you need to do is open up the ratchet and take it out. In my ratchet teardown video from a while ago you can see that it is not that difficult to open it up and take it out. Unfortubately then you are left with tqo empty holes either side of the ratchet. And in all honesty I do find it useful in somw siuations in hard to reach places, because I don‘t activate the ratchet when I don‘t mean to with the nut flying away in to cylinder number 3.
I took apart mine and if I remember correctly, there is a small notch that I needed to cut off. This way, there is no need to press it and also no holes. It's a pretty annoying feature tbh
That it doesn't have an automatic cut out when it reaches max torque gives me the fear. It so quickly lets you know with a puff of smoke... Gave me the fear it would break and i sold it. Will stick to the Milwaukee till they bring out the brushless version

Great review. I have loads of these batteries so I'm tempted by the ratchet but I've been struggling to find one online in the EU. They've yet to come up in Lidl Ireland stores.
Thank you so much! And sorry for the music I know everyone hates it. That was a mistake... I got this from the German online lidl store at 35 euros. It is bit more now they have increased the price. But still at around the 40 euro mark with the battery and charger it is a great buy. Although I also wish they had it as a separate bare tool for those of us with multiple batteries and chargers. Then again a battery and charger are about 30 euros and this is about 10-15 euros more as a kit so...
Thank you so much! I watch a lot of TTC and make no secret of them being the inspiration behind this channel so I would love it if they saw it. They have something of a similar way of testing ratchets, but in all honesty theirs is way more professional and better in every single way.
I am 100% sure! I order all my bolts and nuts before the test brand new so the all come with labels on them and I make sure to not mix them up. As for the spanners used in the video I used the Parkside ratcheting spanners.
@@BrokeLifeEU well looking at the video the sockets you used were 10mm, 13mm and 17mm. this means the bolts thread is NOT 10mm, 13mm, or 17mm. perhaps you shold phrase it better. Metric bolts are dimensioned according to the thread OD and the pitch. Cheers

Good video! How much did it cost? I bought Chinese cordless ratchet with similar specs, 240rpm 55Nm, and I tested it at work with 20 000€ residual torque meter and real output torque of the ratchet was 27-28Nm 😂
Thank you! I bought it when it first came out for 35EUR as a complete set, tool, battery and charger. The pricer are always a little bit lower when brand new tools come out. Now it is like 42-45EUR. It is a really useful tool I think. I never thought I needed one until I got one!
Seems like a generalised park side tools advert The bottom line of this test is they are both exactly the same bar one comes with the battery and the other doesn’t There is absolutely no discernible difference between the two ,They both perform adequately and are well made…I would have liked to see the Parkside ratchet being tested against the professional standard Milwaukee powered ratchet which would have measured the true worth of the Parkside…I have both and there is little difference in their performance except that the Milwaukee ran out of power before the Parkside which I can only put it down to the Milwaukee being over 2 years old and charged regularly during its use
I do apologise that it seems that way! It was not my aim, I did compare the old and new version as I had easy access to both. I understand why you would want to see a video in which I compare it against say a Milwaukee, however I felt that was not a fair comparison for two reasons. 1 The Parkside I feel is strictly a DIY brand of tools, whereas the Milwaukee ratchet would be way above that. 2. The price difference is vast. I am invested in to the Parkside ecosystem, because it is the one I can afford and I can't reasonably spend money on a Milwaukee ratchet. So I figured most people looking in to this ratchet could not set aside the amount for a Milwaukee so I thought that it would be irrelevant for them to know how the Parkside performed against the Milwaukee. I thought it was best just to show what the two Parkside ratchets were capable of. I hope you understand where I am coming from. Also I would like to thank you for the time you have spent watching the video and for your feedback! I was really happy to read your comment! Thank you for your time!
I actually went and bought a Milwaukee for £118 in a sale.........3 weeks before I saw a video on here about the parkside version. So I went and got a parkside as well.....
Right you are I got them mixed up in the heat of the moment. I do apologise I hope you at least you liked the rest of the video, apart from the loud music tht is!
I can only apologise! After a couple of times watching it while editing the video it was completely non-existent for me it seems so I can only apologise that it ruined the video experience for you! I am working to make things better in the future videos!
@@efektmurowany I think it was this one option 3 with range from 10Nm to 340Nm. On the other hand there is the same type of tool from Parkside that came out recently. Had I known about it at the time I would have bought the Parkside one. Pretty much same price but also has a warranty to go with it. Link: www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006190413673.html
Yes it is very easy to remove! Although I must admit I find it useful in some situations when I am holding a bolt or nut in the socket and trying to manoeuvre around a tight spot in an engine bay.
@@BrokeLifeEU I tried to think of a possibility when it is not annoying me and I could not find. Even if you think it is useful in some moments - for those only it doesn't worth to be annoyed all the time. :)
Mostly when I hold a nut or bolt in the socket and try to fit it in tight spaces. I do have big fingers and if I have that red button there to stop the tool engaging, even if I press on the trigger I won't see the thing in the socket fly out. However that is just down to me being clumsy. Otherwise I 100% support removing it.
@@BrokeLifeEU I understand, I prefer always to fit a bolt 1st with my hand or with the socked and/or extension in my hand as I need to feel it catches the thread. So, I don't have your problem. :)
I can‘t blame them honestly. I don‘t know why it was ok when I was editing it and after I uploaded it it seems the background music was 5 times as loud as it was when I was editing it… I can only apologise it subtracted feom the viewing pleasure!
First of all I do apologise about the music! Not my best editing choice at all! On the other hand your comment did make me laugh so thank you for that!
Hello! Unfortunately I could not get my hands on them, however I am not very good with that sort of a tool so I would not be able to bring you the best review of it anyway!
Thank you for that, truth be told I don’t know why I put it there and left it so loud. It is hard to hear what I am on about from time to time. I did remove it in the newer videos and I think all the comments did indeed have a point. The newer videos I think are better without the music. So I did take something from this comments section 😅
Thanks for your reply , it's just that I find that kind of music offensive to my ears and I see another youtuber found the same thing, When you post up a video do you apply the music or is it TH-cam that does it, Because I wanted to hear what your comments were and hear how much noise the tool made , I do like to build quality of Parkside tools but dont no much about them, I myself have three Milwaukee 18v tools 4amp Batteries and one at 5amp for jobs that are more demanding , The build quality of these tools is up there where it counts and have never let me down, so a battery powered 1/2" ratchet may be an option .
I understand completely. I would be annoyed too. I applied the music so I only have myself to blame for that. I am still new to making videos so it is difficult to gauge how loud the music should be. Furthermore I use it with the purpose of covering some sound abnormalities which occur when filming outside with a non professional microphone. I did try without music and the sound of wind and other such noses are not pleasant at all. Now about the ratchet. I have not used Milwaukee tools - too poor for that. But I am sure that they must be a lot better than the Parkside stuff. However in this case I think you will be pleasantly surprised with this Parkside ratchet. I got it for 35 EUR inch tool, battery and charger. It is not too loud but you can definitely hear it over some louder voices. Also this ratchet is a 3/8" drive and comes with an included 1/2" adaptor, however that makes the business end of it longer which for a tool meant to fit in to tight spaces is not ideal.
Hello again , I kinda feel a bit guilty about my first comment on the awful music, I was given a Milwaukee 18v 4amp drill, battery, charger, and the tool case, but the drill was faulty, So I sent off the printed circuit board and trigger to see if it cold be repaired and it turned out it was not repairable , So I then bought a New drill unit , just the drill as I had everything else , The bare unit cost £90 that was a lot of years ago realising the quality of the tool drove me to save up and buy another of my choice at a later date , a Battery 1/2" 3/8" ratchet tool would be very handy in some situations , GOOD LUCK making more videos in the future , but in my opinion get a better mike with a cover for it and dont apply any music more people than me cant abide listening to it they want to hear what you are telling them about what you are posting up, I live Edinburgh Scotland uk .
@@standonald5145 Don't worry about it! It's constructive criticism and part of my TH-cam learning journey. I think if you manage to find this ratchet in Lidl in Scotland and you decide on buying it you will be pleasantly surprised quality for the price. I got this one from the German Lidl Online store at 35 EUR I guess about 30 GBP for the full kit. However I don't know for what reason but Lidl seem to be quite hesitant to bring many Parkside tools to the UK. I hope it will not be so with this one and it will be available in the UK. And I have ordered a microphone with a wind cover I hope it will be the improvement I need. Thank you again for your time! Also if you are in to impact drivers and wrenches and you would like to give the channel another go I have a video on Ferrex tools which are available in Aldi UK stores that will be available to watch tonight.

@@BrokeLifeEU Thanks!! So many TH-cam channels have the same problem, they don't realise how irritating crappy music is!! Music just isn't needed in a non music video. The worst offenders are the car, bike and motorsports channels, wytf do they think music is preferable to engine sounds??!! Anyway, thanks again for acknowledging the issue.
I do apologise! I understand your frustration and I am sorry! I am still getting the hang of it and I will try to do better in the future! In fact I have no more than 3-4 seconds of music in my newest video on the channel so I hope that is an improvement.
I always buy power tools from well-known manufacturers, some of them Makita Metabo Snapon. All unknown things are a waste of money, the salesmen can say whatever they want. In fact, after a non-functioning tool, you buy the one that works. These high-quality tools are not sold in grocery stores, but in specialized tool stores.
I fully agree! In this case you hve a warranty which does mean that for 3 years after your purchase you either get your money back or a new tool. Which also has some down sides, because I would always prefer as you said to have a functioning tool instead of being refunded for a defect. However look at it this way, this kit cost me €35, whereas one from for example Aliexpress will cost quite a bit more. The batteries in them are questionable at best and you won‘t be able to use in any other tool. And for sure we can‘t even speak of a warranty. That being said I have mentioned many times that if I could afford and justify the cost for occasional use as is the case with me I would go Milwaukee for sure!
@@evanleebodies I have been deceived by the MMA welding machine, the esab body arc 180, it did not meet my expectations. I bought the Fronius TP 180 RC MMA electrode welding. I am very satisfied with it, it is like night and day. Likewise, with the disc cutter with which to cut metal, at first there was also a cutter from X manufacturer .I bought a Metabo disc cutter and it can't even be compared to the X device. In general, it's like how you pay for such a tool. The choice is up to each person!
@@rihovaher I get it, but Parkside tools are not really meant for heavy professional use. For a DIYer they are adequate. The only one that has let me down is a tyre inflator which burnt the brushes out. The best one I've bought is a flux core welder which for occasional DIY use is very good.

@@BrokeLifeEU thanks! Have to get one
Worth it! Did my timing belt yesterday and this was so worth the price!
Seems like a generalised park side tools advert
The bottom line of this test is they are both exactly the same bar one comes with the battery and the other doesn’t
There is absolutely no discernible difference between the two ,They both perform adequately and are well made…I would have liked to see the Parkside ratchet being tested against the professional standard Milwaukee powered ratchet which would have measured the true worth of the Parkside…I have both and there is little difference in their performance except that the Milwaukee ran out of power before the Parkside which I can only put it down to the Milwaukee being over 2 years old and charged regularly during its use
4:28 M6 bolt, M8 and M10. You ment socket size, but you said bolt.
Right you are I got them mixed up in the heat of the moment. I do apologise I hope you at least you liked the rest of the video, apart from the loud music tht is!
Good test, but cut the really annoying background music!
I can only apologise! After a couple of times watching it while editing the video it was completely non-existent for me it seems so I can only apologise that it ruined the video experience for you! I am working to make things better in the future videos!
Where are they selling this ? On the moon 🌙?
In Lidl stores. They also have it available on the online stores.
What is the Nm attachment?
Just a basic one from aliexpress. I can find you the link if you wish. It was about €30.
@@BrokeLifeEU it would be very helpful :-)
@@efektmurowany I think it was this one option 3 with range from 10Nm to 340Nm. On the other hand there is the same type of tool from Parkside that came out recently. Had I known about it at the time I would have bought the Parkside one. Pretty much same price but also has a warranty to go with it.

@@BrokeLifeEU thanks. Similar prices are from jennesway. I will choose something for sure now!
You are welcome! Yes in terms of prices I was also looking for the cheapest option. I could not find anything below €30.
You can remove the red safety lock like in 10 mins,
Yes it is very easy to remove!
@@bogdanbelciu6242 For sure it is best to do it by hand and feel the thread is going in as it should!
Good video, but as others have alluded to, the music is a big put off.
I can‘t blame them honestly. I don‘t know why it was ok when I was editing it and after I uploaded it it seems the background music was 5 times as loud as it was when I was editing it… I can only apologise it subtracted feom the viewing pleasure!
We need a disassembly and comparison 🔧🔧🔧🔬🔬🔬
I‘ll see what I can do 😉

@@BrokeLifeEU Many thanks
You are most welcome and I am sorry to disappoint you!
Great video but please no need for the background music.Completely unnecessary and annoying.
Thank you! Yes, after re-watching it a couple of times I wish there was a way to get rid of the background music! I do apologise for it!
dunno what everybody is itching about, the music actually sounds very british and i suppose thats where most complainants are 'hating' from
Thank you for that, truth be told I don’t know why I put it there and left it so loud. It is hard to hear what I am on about from time to time. I did remove it in the newer videos and I think all the comments did indeed have a point. The newer videos I think are better without the music. So I did take something from this comments section 😅

UNFORTUNATELY DUE TO THE BLOODY AWFUL ANNOYING TUNLESS CRAP MUSIC I DECIDED TO TURN OFF .
Sorry about that! I understand your frustration! I did turn it down for the new videos.
The music is horrible. Sorry.
Don’t be sorry about the truth. I made a mistake with the music! A big horrible mistake! I am sorry!

Thanks!!
@turboslag No problem at all! Unfortunately I spent way too long editing the video and completely missed the how irritating the music is…
20 second in fed up with the music so ditched the viewing
Understandable. I did make a huge mistake with the music. Sorry about that!
Can’t finish watching with the stupid music! ☹️
I do apologise! I understand your frustration and I am sorry! I am still getting the hang of it and I will try to do better in the future! In fact I have no more than 3-4 seconds of music in my newest video on the channel so I hope that is an improvement.
Kill the music and concentrate on the the content, sorry couldn’t watch it
No need to be sorry at all! I understand you completely! The music was overkill and I should not have used it this much if at all!
Why the stupid and annoying background ‘music ‘. Unwatchable.
Honest answer, because I am stupid! I do apologise I did make a hude mistake with the music!
Stop playing the stupid music don't do anything
I do apologise! I feel I have fixed the issued for the newer videos.
Meh...the best tool is the one you have in your hands
I agree with that.
Is i t really necessary to include the damn background noise!! 😳 😡😡😡
Absolutely not! I made a mistake! I will be fixing it with the newer videos! Would you prefer no music at all of a different kind of music?
Thanks
Thank you so much! You are the reason I just ordered a new RPM gauge!
