Just bought a Javn ratchet 3 weeks ago for 10 euro just for testing agains the Parkside, like you did😂 One downside it that the USB charging cable outputs 13.4V. So you either use that one and hope you never lose it, or use a 13v power supply or charger. Another downside it that I did not manage to find a spare battery to buy. I modified the Javn ratchet to work on Parkside batteries, since the shape of the batteries is identical. I cut a groove on Javn ratchet so I do not modify all my batteries and also grinded a little bit out of the back of the tool. I also changed the polarity on the tool pins. But because the electronic is extremly simple, it works without this but in reverse😂 Loved the video tho👍
Not a bad idea at all! I may do it to this one just so I have a spare one. I never thought cordless ratchets were so useful until I got one. Now I can't live without a cordless ratchet nearby. I did not think about the USB charger at all but after you pointed it out that makes sense too! I hope I will not lose it... The one fairly big negative with the JAVN ratchet even for the special discount price is the lack of a variable speed trigger. I find that annoying. Did you get used to it or was it never a problem for you?
@@BrokeLifeEU yeah, me too. Once I bought one, I realised how much easier it makes your life. I use the Parkside one more. The Javn ratchet is not being used too often and I used it more for unscrewing things. So the on/off trigger doesn't bother me so much.
I am not a mechanic, but I do occasional work on my car and for difficult to reach places I have found it invaluable. It has helped me out of some very difficult situations and tight places.
@@BrokeLifeEU I once restored an audi80 b4. It wouldam have been great tool to use. Sadly after I parted ways with that car, also not having a garage, i dont work anymore on cars. I bring it to specialists.
I have such screw extractors, but from AliExpress and a different set (the one in a blue box). As you see, they bite into the bolt. Which, for me, resulted in a rusted bolt just being shaven/rounded off by those sockets even more than what I started with. I kept hammering on the next smaller size, then the next one, and it kept shaving off the bolt's head. At the end I welded a rod to it and turned it out. I conclude, that those heads really mean business. They do reaaally bite into the bolt and are harder than whatever was used in my car there. Also, there is a lot of praise for them online. So, I'd recommend them (even though in my case they failed, but it was hardcore).
It does nearly always come to a point when you just have to reach for the welder 😂 I am sorry it did not happen the easy way for you. That said at least we know these are tough! However I feel they can be a reliable extractor for screws stuck in wood, for rusty bolts and such it's worth a shot like in your case, but have that welder near 😂
The 3 year no quibble guarantee on Parkside (Lidl) and Ferrex (Aldi) equipment has got to be a winner for things you don't use often. With all Chinese goods you have to understand that the customer is doing quality control, and the cost of any return rate has been weighed against having a large QC department.
In all honesty I have never managed to return a defective tool to China. They somehow deliver them from Aliexpress with free shipping but return shipping is in the hundreds of Euros if there is a battery with said tool. I guess Temu would be easier since they ship from witin Europe I think but nothing even comes close to Parkside and Ferrex.
The Lidl Performance Brushless range (the black tools) has a FIVE YEAR warranty... I upgraded from the brushed greenies to the brushless and they are a much better built tool plus you get extra power from the brushless motors... at present, I'm waiting for my local store to get the brushless 1/2" impact... I NEED that one !!
@@BrokeLifeEU no, the 20 volt... all my tools are the TeamX20v and I have 4- 2Ah / 4- 4Ah / 2- 8Ah batteries to cover the lot.. I've seen the 20v brushed impact but I'd prefer to hold out for the brushless... 🙄 😎👍☘️🍻
@peterfitzpatrick7032 Yeah the 20V brushed is nothing to write home about. I hope they come up with a 20V mid torque. 500-700Nm real power would be ideal for me and I guess for almost everyone if the form factor is right.
I've owned a parkside electric cordless screwdriver for well over 5 yrs and it is still going strong and is also keeping its charge. Powerful for its size.
The extractors well worth the money. I take it there wasn't any instructions with it. 1 hint. is. you're supposed to put the smallest possible one on. the knot or bolt. You're trying to extract and usually you hit it with a hammer so it digs in. But your example was plenty good enough to show its use. I'd be interested to know if you got rid of the app because of the. because of the quality of the tools or because of the pop ups they blast at you. Because if it's the pop ups, you can switch those off. But you need to go into a computer to do it. I have no trouble with the ads annoyingly. Whereas I do know people that do. I have bought a lot of stuff. from Team U. from house cleaning products. to tools. and I accept some of its absolute trash. But a lot of it's very well made. One thing I've noticed in recent weeks is they're starting to sell bigger products of. first they were really only tiny things that would go in one parcel together. You know there's more power tools appearing. even tool boxes on wheels.
Thank you for the hint! I can confirm I did not know this about the extrctors, however you are also correct on the lack of any instructions front. So I just winged it 😅 As for the app, the ads were a disgusting amount. The 24/7 spamming with emails I also had enough of fairly quickly. And then it is the fact that I felt I could have spent a lot more on the thing had I not deleted it. So for now I would rather save up some money 😅! Thank you for your time! I hope you enjoyed the video! I am struggling to find other tools pn Temu for a decent price however, what tools did you get and are they still available?
I bought a welder and a cordless grinder with lots of various discs from temu because I needed my driveway gates fixing. They did a good job and we’re still fine after I finished. I bought them because it was cheaper to buy them than pay to have the gates repaired .
In such a case where the cost of tools is less than paying a contractor - and you are able to do the work yourself - it has been a good economical decision - Paying for expensive tools - when for the most part they are hardly ever used may not justify the expense. So one has to be practical Even in your case - you could always sell the tools and recover at least 75% of what you paid - if and when SOLD immediately after you finished using them and they still retain most of the NEW appearance
I have a couple of the Parkside work lights, I've had them for about a year. Generally very good except the battery life before they need charging is really rather short. I also have some older triple A battery work lights that do a better job and the batteries last very much longer. When you run out of battery you can pop fresh ones in and get on the your work straight away rather than hang around waiting for the USB to do it's thing. No contest as far as I am concerned, separate batteries every time.
I know what you mean I have come across the same reality. It seems the LED with integrated Li-Ion batteries do need to be charged after each use just to make sure you have enough juice for next time. On the other hand I have a Parkside torch with regular AAA batteries that have lasted like a year in it.
Certainly when the battery in the device is not easily replaceable - waiting for the recharge to complete is inconvenient - Thus one hast possess TWO devices - One in use and one charging // or ready to use. In some instances - depending on the job and the tool / device in use - such as LED lighting it may be possible to connect a PowerBank to extend the usable time - but that is not always possible or convenient. When the devices are not overly expensive - it would be prudent to have TWO such devices - Just like having two pair of underpants - One to wash and one to wear
Separate / detachable batteries that can be swapped with a fully-charged battery are an obvious advantage - Of course the tooling - design - engineering and manufacture of such is quite expensive - and thus those devices come with a higher price tag - and in most cases are a better choice. Buying something that is cheap will bring temporary joy which will wear off quickly and never be forgotten when the device fails. However - when - buying a better quality more expensive reputable brand device - the additional cost is forgotten as the device is usable and performing well many years later.
I bought the parkside ratchet today, my firs x12 tool. I´m screwed, we all know how it goes once you buy into a battery platform, and i need some 3/8 tooling too, channels like yours don't help the addiction either ;) If you want a bit more loosening torque you can let the tool spin in the air and then engage the bolt, probably not good for the tool but it works.
I am sorry about that! I would love to be able to stick to one battery platform and not spend any more on tools... That is why I made this channel so I have an excuse to buy more tools 😂
I know what you mean --- I have both MAKITA and RYOBI However there are adapter / converters available so for example : One could use a RYOBI / BOSCH battery on a MAKITA TOOL (Also it should be noted that MAKITA have two types of incompatible batteries. MAKITA and BOSCH are almost identical in many respects However I no longer use AliExpress as one is easily scammed and those communist criminals refuse to refund the payment any refuse to co-operate. So I suggest do not spend more than one is willing to use. Many have also been defrauded in such a way in the EU - as my investigation has revealed - In such a case - take the matter to the Chinese embassy and submit a formal complaint with a claim fro refund and compensation for LOST time. TIME is more valuable than money One can always recover money and earn more TIME is irreplaceable - You cannot wind the clock back to recover the time
I've purchased many tools such as woodworking squares, all are made of aluminum and all are perfectly square. Ive also purchased a few tool bags, drill bits, screwdriver bits and quite a few other types of tools and other various items. Only issue was with one of the drill bits, everything else was great.
@@BrokeLifeEUsorry, I bought all from Temu. I am planning to buy a Javn drill and impact driver from Temu to see if I can build my work bench with it.
@Kreacher1974 Javn aare really not bad, the batteries are the weak point, they just take forever to charge and the cells inside are cheaper than cheap so they don‘t last very long at peak performance.
While I am not a fan of Temu, Watching you demonstrate those bolt removers come to the conclusion that you were disappointed that they worked. You could have given the respect they deserved. For what they did they are a good buy.
Not in the slightest disappointed! I was pleasantly surprised! Unfortunately I sounded like that because it was something like my 5-th voice recoding, because of the wind... Honestly I thought these were a gimmick the way the looked on the site. I don't think that anymore!
Agreed! Batteries from Temu/Aliexpress etc. are an unknown. And by that I mean I give them a couple of months before they start behaving like a paperweight or doorstop. Apart from that it was an exceptional ratchet!
The issue here is this : (a) the motor is NOT brush-less - and thus demanding on power resources (b) the battery is the most minimum capacity that the manufacturer can get away with. As one writer stated in another comment : You get what you pay for You cannot buy a new BENTLEY for the price of a VOLKS-WAGEN
That one you paid $70 is the same as the ones on eBay. I paid £28 for one . The batteries don't last if left uncharged but you can get a drill with two batteries that fit for £16 on eBay with a charger as well. I don't know about the parkside but I have loads of 21v parkside power tools as I bought them when they where on offer.
You have no idea how spot on you are! I am currently charging or at least trying to 4 batteries like the one on the JAVN in the video. They were all out of anything resenbling an electron. I bough the ratchet in the video for €7, because it was my first purchase. I would never have paid 10 times that for it. Now it is down to about €35 which still I think is a bit much when the Parkside is about €45. However €35 it at least somewhat of a realistic ask for it.
If the batteries drop the charge within a few days then they are not Li-On of any description. It sounds more like Ni-Cads which are famous for doing just that, then never taking a full charge again because of the dendritic crystallisation. It's possible to recover them but you need to ask; is it worth the effort?
Yes they are the cheap shit cells as I've taken one apart and it's not worth the bother. I've got six new batteries and I'll just keep them topped up .
I bought 2 Temu headllamps and a worklight. I was initially impressed as are very bright but the headlamps battery only lasts about 15 minutes. The worklamp appears to be better designed and made than the one in the video but if left for a few days the battery is always dead. I have never been able to see how long it lasts as it is dead when i go to use it. If the batteries could be improved thet could be very good but as they are you have so little time you cant do much.
The batteries I think are by far the biggest issue with tools from such places like Temu. They can't hold a charge properly and take way too long to charge. For me personally I don't want to stand around and wait too long for batteries to charge. The quicker they charge the better.
The battery is DEAD after a few days because there is a constant STANDBY voltage ( in addition that the battery capacity is very small ) The ON / OFF switch is electronically controlled and NOT a mechanical switch Thus when triggered it sends a 0 pulse to switch the device ON Laptop computers operate the same way. There is a 5 volt or 3.3 volt STANDBY voltage that is always ON - and activates the laptop when the POWER button is pressed When a Laptop is unused for an extended period of time and not connected to a Charger - it too will -over time drain the battery and it can also LOCK the battery so it will refuse to recharge
The battery capacity is the reason why the device is priced so LOW Depending on the device and ability to disassemble it - one may be able to replace the Battery with a higher capacity battery. Where that may be possible - it defeats the purpose This is why it is better to study the specifications and buy a higher quality respected product for a higher price. You will be a lot happier in the long-term - and a year later you will have forgotten the price you paid. The Cheap device with its many failings - You will never forget
As a retired Electro-Mechanical Engineer (HND) I have been using TEMU for several years without a problem. I will qualify that by saying if I do get a problem with anything that I have purchased, the first thing that I do is contact Customer Services (C.S), explain the problem, then after C S gets back to me after contacting the seller they tell me to either keep the item OR send it back to their U.K mailing address postage paid of course and they refund me the total amount, and more often than not I get a duplicate with an apologetic note from the seller. My advice is IF you are going to purchase anything from TEMU you only get what you pay for, think about the job/role that this item will be used for and make your decision then.
You are spot on! As with all other things in life you get what you pay for. The screw extractors were fantastic, I am sure there are also other non-power tools that can do a job well, but how many jobs can they do? Also for power tools with batteries I am still not convinced. I can't let a battery charge unattended for fear of a fire or something. If I don't buy a battery from a reputable store I will always question the quality of the cells within. Also a very big negative point with Temu is all the spam notifications and mail. Those made me delete the app...
As a former AIR FORCE pilot and Electronics / Electro-Mechanical Engineer specializing in Automation and Robotics ( 30 years MILITARY Service ) I totally agree with your comment. I also studied for other degrees / diplomas during that time. Those being Law - Risk management - National Security and Psychology All paid for by the GOVERNMENT With a PPL in my pocket I joined the RAF in 1960 - and served with Bomber Command from late 1965 - Served 3 countries over time UK - AU - USA
It's been so long since that that I also have to rely on looking at the video as I can't remember. However even if torx screws are used the results will be the same in the end. The Temu extension is weak and will twist itself in to a know. Whereas the Makita one has very hard walls so it can deliver more Nm to the required fastener.
A word to the wise. Having ordered from temu and having worked for a electrical tool importer supplying the big German discounters Lidl, Aldi, & many others. These discounters take prospective examples and independently test rhem almost destruction prior to placing any orders. Temp - don't!!!! - you place russian roulette with regard to the quality of the "producers" in most cases they produce to a price. The discounters have their own reputation to maintain and so won't knowingly stock poor products.
This is nice to know! I that means a lot more value is to be found in Lidl and Aldi tools, because testing is very important. As for Temu, Aliexpress etc. I am surprised I got s cordless ratchet when I ordered and not just a picture of one... I don't recommend purchasing from Temu, Aliexpress if you are not 100% certain in what you will be getting and also being fully aware that saying they have a warranty programme does not make it true!
most items come from china anyhow lol then a company name is put on them. i have used temu often and never been disappointed.however i choose items with care. adverts on temu tell you everything and tell you limitations without saying .read between lines guys.
A very good point. I have found that the buying department of Aldi and Lidl do an excellent job of identifying products that do what they are supposed to do and are at the lower end of the cost range. I would add that the big supermarkets are not as reliable in this respect and that lower cost items from them may not be as good as the Lidl or Aldi versions. Well done Aldi and Lidl buying departments!
That is exactly correct. The importers / retailers / wholesalers have a reputation and a BRAND NAME to protect - thus they undertake their own QC [ Quality Control ] testing Also ALDI not written Aldi as you incorrectly write it ) are a disposal outlet for manufacturers / sellers / distributors to make use of ALDI to dispose of their excess stock One needs to be careful of what one buys from ALDI as often there are no replacement parts or after Sales Service beyond the Limited Guarantee Also Learn that ALL CORPORATE legal names are always written in the ALL CAPS iteration. There are Legal reasons for that - which are beyond you level of understanding. However you can find the answer in the Cemetery if you are intelligent enough and have a high IQ - and are ' paying attention to detail ' [ Which you are not good at doing ]
If you need a battery for the Temu trash, you probably have to drive a little further than to Lidl, maybe you have to order it from Temu and it takes time when the machine cannot be used.
Yes, the Temu stuff is useful for as long as the battery is alive. After the battery or charger give up you need to wait about a month. Although I was surprised to find replacement batteries and chargers on Aliexpress and they are not too expensive at all.
Are the batteries interchangeable for the wrenches, I've found long term, cheaper BATTERIES don't hold their discharge capacity to maintain the torque Vrs Name brand tools (battery)
The Temu ratchet uses a specific type of battery that I have only seen on unknown branded tools so I don‘t expect too much out of them. For sure for prolonged work and life I would say the cheapest reasonable option is Parkside.
Yes, I can't truthfully claim Parkside have the best quality or do they have the best quality control. I guess they have to keep prices low somehow. That said the warranty and return policy for me at least make up for issues like this. Did you warranty/return it successfully?
Makes PERFECT sense. The Parkside couldn't do 20NM (Javin ACTUALLY did 35 with a nudge) and was SLOWER on regular nuts. Sure, BUY IT!! By the time you get done paying the shipping, you'll get a weaker and slower one for about the same amount out of pocket....
Surely, or is it just me, when comparing work light.. one would actually switch them on ? the light is the primary function, surely ? what you did there is like comparing drills without drilling.
You have not yet learned the difference in meaning between ON / OFF and on / off and in which context they are used. Whilst they sound the same - They are NOT the same and used in differ contexts. Unfortunately - you were PROGRAMMED to be ZOMBIE and do not realize it -- ZOMBIES have eyes but cannot see - ears and cannot hear. I spent just around £10 .. 13/14euros on some stuff from Temu, just for the hell of it, and the only decent thing was a silicone solder mat for about 2 euros- the rest was shit. Nedless to say I wont be buying off them again- I even had to spam them in my email because of their persistence. Avoid!! (btw I have many Lidl and Aldi tools, and for the price they are amazing value and quality!)
"just for the hell of it" this was my entire reasoning too. I would not buy tools from there to use as intended. I could only buy Temu stuff in order to make entertaining videos and not much more. You can't imagine the sheer number of emails I have been getting too. I mark them as spam and somehow they appear again in a couple of days. I have deleted my account AND still I get emails! If the quality of the tools does not put me off then the number of emails and notifications can even cause me to go back to a 2000s Nokia to not be bothered as much. That said I am sure they will find a new way to spam me...
I have used one of the extractors about 5 times so I can say what it's like after 5 times. No noticeable difference from new. That said I used it to extract screws from wood. Your question still stands firmly if the extractors are used on rusty bolts.
For some reason they are both an A1 version so they are both a first version. Difference is the one you are referring to is a PAR 10.8 A1, whereas this is the fist X12 ratchet so PAR 12 A1.
Parkside is not of superior quality, these tools are the better Chinese products but they remain being Chinese. The Temu stuff I have never seen in real life, I assume it is a Ali Baba quality, it will last till it is out of the package but not as long as using it for a second time. Often it is better to go to a second hand salesman and ask for ten years or twenty years old Made In Germany tools. I have seen YT movies about tools made in the century before last century, still working, only need a little paint.
Yes, despite Parkside proclaming itself as a German brand it is all made in China. No surprises there. On the Temu front I also agree! Had it not been for the €7 price on that ratchet I would not have bought anything from there! As for the Parkside tools some are not worth it at all! The Performance line though I do like, most are pretty decent and for a casual DIY-er I think they are good enough. The other thing that I have to mention here is the warranty. You break it and they replace it. I have not had an issue with a warranty claim so for me they are sufficiently good. Also I must mention again that the only reason I am purchasing tools from Temu, Aliexpress, Alibaba etc is to produce some fun content. I do not claim to be a tool specialist and would always say to go for the best brand you can afford withn reason. If you need the tools in your job Hilti/Festool are the brands you need to look at. However if like me you use the tools once in a blue moon Parkside is a good enough brand. I hope my video has not caused you too much trouble I only make these videos for entertainment.
I’m in no way saying it’s the case for all “parkside “ products but my father owns a parkside sander which is infact a Bosch machine! Probably a model Bosch had discontinued and stock that parkside had acquired directly from them in bulk, so to this end I think they are less an actual manufacturer and more a model /product “sourcer “ and the products they provide are just “ rebranded” versions of whatever from wherever, so basically when opportunities arise they acquire products at the right price at any given time ( as many other brand suppliers obviously are these days too) All I’m saying is that you have to take the quality of both Temu and Lidl/Parkside on a “ model by model basis” (just like Ali-express and Ali baba etc also) as opposed to whether they have a good overall “range” of products
@@gimble447my Parkside power washers uses Karcher parts, and my 8 year old compressor still goes strong. For what you pay there's worse products available
flogging everyone everything like everyone will forever need every tool there ever is. i'm a sucker for that and live in an upstairs flat so once the weight of my tools started to bow the floor, my down stairs neighbour didn't have room to pack all his up to the rafters and so i now have more room to store the ones he had to sell me cheap because he's no room between the ceiling for his mattress atop his pile of cheap tools! 😃
A lot of crap from China isn't worth buying. However, there are exceptions like those bolt extractors. I bought them and didn't expect a whole lot of them. They worked well even on rusted old bolts on the boat I just bought. I also bought impact sockets and have yet to have one fail on me (I abused them with maximum torque). So I guess not everything is made out of pure Chinesium. :)
You completely cocked up the torque test. The torque to crack a fastener is many times the torque required to fasten it. You should've used a floating beam torque wrench attached to the ratchets and measured the stall torque.
Yes, you have a point! However this test for a ratchet does not mean much at all, because in the end it is there to drive a fastener and not to break it loose. It is just to test how both against eachother. Otherwise there are better ways to break a fastener loose and then drive it out wirh a cordless ratchet.
@@mmmmmlemons But the breaking torque is not always proportional to the setting torque and can be quite random. He didn't even try it numerous times, so was it statistically significant. Also, if you'd paid attention, he said (at 6:03) "let's find out their maximum unscrewing torque".
I was browsing the internet and got an add that said if I doenload the Temu app I can get this as my first purchase for €7. So that is how that took place.
On the no spares I am 100% with you. That is not a good move on their side. On the replacement or refund I won't agree, because you can either get a replacement tool or if they don't have them in stock they will return your money. I have warrantied Parkside tools across several countries and never had an issue beyond a negative cashier. All has been pretty smooth. Although the annoying thing is when you need a tool and they don't have it so you end up with a refund, but you would rather have a working tool.
At 35€ I think it is a good price. The only issue I have with it is the battery. I am not convinced it will stand the test of time. That test being no more than a couple of months long.
Yes, however lately I am having issues with tools from China which should come with batteries. Also the batteries themselves. New policy the sellers tell me, batteries can not be transported from China to Europe. So I would have to buy them from Europe at nearly the Parkside price.
Why did you use a philips screw bit on a pozidrive screw in your last test? Please use a pozidrive bit with pozidrive screws. Dont use philips bits ever on pozidrive screws.
Because I misplaced my torx screws and everything went to…from there. I am a fan of the tox screw, no slipping no bit coming out. And after 3 hours at least of filming I got to this part and could not find my torx screws. It was a shame at the time and I am ashamed I filmed like I did now… I should have done it properly with my lovely torx screws and bits. I would have shown the differences much better!

I was not able to find it on the Temu site either. For me it was a pop up on my phone for the Temu app and the discount was only valid for a purchase via the app. It is also possible that they are done with this discount and have moved on to a discount for another tool.
Yes, it is shocking! I did not expect something from TEMU to perform so much better than Parkside! And the JAVN ratchet is now 40 euros no discount, no coupon on TEMU. I think it is a fair price when it is better than the Parkside.
€40 for that ratchet is not bad to be fair. I would still go with the Parkside just because I have loads of 12V parkside batteries and they are not bad at all. Also the Parkside has a warranty, whereas the Temu warranty I do not trust. But €40 is really not bad at all! I said €70 because after I bought it for €7 the price if I wanted to buy it again jumped up to €70.
by the way I don't know why, but most of the Parkside cabels included with tools are the only ones working with them. If you plug any other it will not work.. So don't lose it hah
Do you mean for corded tools? I don‘t have anything corded so I don‘t really know. The only thing I have with a cable are lamps and a screwdriver with a USB-C cable and I have tried loads and they charge great. Which tools are you having issues with? I hope you don‘t mind me asking.
@@BrokeLifeEU basically all the lights from parkside either micro usb or usb c ones only charges with cables they had in a box , whenever I’ve tried any other branded cable it never started charging or stopped after a short while . @soldier9927 😅 I am going to try all of this as soon as I can! I am sure I have charged them with multiple USB C cables but am starting to question myself now! It could be that they start to charge and then they don‘t. I will try this out for sure! Because it will be shocking if they somehow limit their USB-C ports. Worse than Apple…

So I’ve tried other cables and some didn’t even started charging , then I’ve used original ones from the box and I’ve tried them every few days and they are still full and running so just saying keep them 😃 I’ve came across this too with portable fan from brand ARCTIC Summair Plus Black that only original cable works with it or baseus car phone holder only works with some cables and some won’t . So hope you have more luck then me 😃
I don't have any luck with Lidl stuff, so I would not buy it. I did see a battery 'lawnmower' yesterday that is probably trying to be strimmer at best!
I would not buy their battery lawnmower either! As you said no better than a strimmer. However they do have some tools that are good value for money I think.
Fair point although I am not sure anyone would try to use these on a bolt on a car or truck. These are for the smaller screws I think and that is why I tested them like I did. I don‘t think i can risk causing damage to a rusty nut/bolt on a car with these.
a very biased test .. temu came out very good. ratchet was MUCH better than parkside . extractor was very good..and the twisty screw from tumu was bent past 90 degrees whereas your one couldnt bend so unfair, yet lets be honest just looking at temu last item you can see its tiny. also dont forget lidl guaranteer is stepped , longer you have it less you get back if it breaks .most of time postage cost outweighs what you will get back
There will be another video in the future. Temu vs Parkside I hope you will stick around to see it and I hope I will have rectified the issues you put forward in your comment.
The products from temu are crap it's cheap for a reason in the UK it takes two weeks to deliver bigger stuff a month you will get many messages every day from them about deals you can get and you find out it's dropped in price anyway it's a nightmare to get a refund when stuff it missing broken and the listing is wrong to the product quality plus you have to spend £15 to get the free delivery now lidi I've had all sorts of tools cheap flux welding wire £4 a roll and great stuff to use my grinder with a plug £25 different speed settings really powerful and came with spare Bush's the quality is great temu is Chinese crap sorry
Wait wait, there is nothing to be sorry about! As I said in the video myself I deleted the Temu app. Too much spam and the prices are not that good either. Go to Lidl/Aldi etc, decent tools for the price and a warranty. There are some good finds on Temu, but you need to spend a day there in order to find anything useful. That said I am doing these for entertaimant value more than anything so there might me one or two more videos coming. I hope no hard feelings 🤝
@@BrokeLifeEU not the experience I've had the last 3 months 90% of the stuff I've had off them tools wise I've had to get a refund on over things are not to bad but you have a look properly and make sure and some stuff eBay have is the same price and only takes a few days to come and you don't get alot of problems to get a refund on but it's rare trouble is I tell it how it is on utube and some people get right upset 🤣😂 about mate
No worries mate. I am not sponsored by Temu or anything like that so I can say what I want and so can you! I even said in the video I deleted the app. I never would have ordered from there but they got me with the pop up add for the 7 EUR ratchet.
@@BrokeLifeEU the best thing you did is delete the app I will when the rest of my things come for my place sick of getting messages a couple of times a day every day to try and make you spend money with them it's to much at least with eBay I only get it when I've looked at something or saved in my basket and it's to get a bit of money off but not ever day mate
@petergrinnell2500 Absolutely! Temu have taken spam to a new level! The only thing that will do is make people opt out of notifications and delete thier accounts…
I hope so. I have the Lidl store app and Lidl home app so I hope some IT specialist can verify they are not stealing too much data. On the Temu front we know what the case is. That is why I held out for so long and never ordered anythi g from there, however they got me with the €7 ratchet!
@@BrokeLifeEU I bought a lot of their one battery 18v tools, and everyone of them was underpowered. The circular saw couldn't cut through 1 piece of decking! an old woman with a hand saw could cut it quicker and did! I bought all the tools for upcoming projects which were put off and then I decided to do them during the lockdown. What a misstake. Don't buy Parkside!!! You will regret it.
@@paulstone9667 Sorry to hear that! I don’t do any projects like that and don’t use these types of tools so I can’t say anything regarding the subject.
At least in most cases you can return the tools for a full refund with Lidl if you do not like them. Granted for a limited time after you buy the tool but it is still enough to know what you got. For Temu I can't say, because I have not bought anything from them apart from what you see in the video. The Temu ratchet is not too bad as well as the extractor kit, but the lamp is a disaster.
@andrewhague4123 Unfortunately my sample size is not big enough in order to be able to give a comprehensive answer. However from Ferrex I have two impact drivers, hammer drill and angle grinder. The only tool I am not a fan of is the grinder. I find it too weak and not well built. In terms of the other tools I have they were cheapter than the Parkside equivallents, however are much more difficult to find. So has Aldi invested more in to Ferrex and if the tools were easier to find I can say they would be a good competition against Parkside. However the fact that Parkside have many more offerings and the tools and batteries are currently easier to find I will have to go with Parkside on this one. That being said there may be a Ferrex tool that is so good that it tips the scales the other way.
3 year warranty on Lidl, had a couple of things break past 2 years on, no problem, contact service, copy of receipt, replacement in my hands 2 days later.
Just bought a Javn ratchet 3 weeks ago for 10 euro just for testing agains the Parkside, like you did😂
One downside it that the USB charging cable outputs 13.4V.
But because the electronic is extremly simple, it works without this but in reverse😂
Loved the video tho👍
@@BrokeLifeEUfor mechanics sure its a big help. Cant see other uses tho
@peterfitzpatrick7032 The 1/2“ 12V one?
😎👍☘️🍻
@peterfitzpatrick7032 Yeah the 20V brushed is nothing to write home about. I hope they come up with a 20V mid torque. 500-700Nm real power would be ideal for me and I guess for almost everyone if the form factor is right.
I've owned a parkside electric cordless screwdriver for well over 5 yrs and it is still going strong and is also keeping its charge. Powerful for its size.
Good to know! Which model is it?

Did you see the dinosaur 😅 I know I am 7 years old 😂
@@BrokeLifeEU I thought "what the hell is that squirming on his bench" there for a second!
Sorry for the scare 🦕
I bought some of what you are commenting about. Coming up in a future video! I hope you stay tuned.
In such a case where the cost of tools is less than paying a contractor -
and you are able to do the work yourself - it has been a good economical
decision -
Paying for expensive tools - when for the most part they are hardly ever
used may not justify the expense.
So one has to be practical
Even in your case - you could always sell the tools and recover at least 75%
of what you paid - if and when SOLD immediately after you finished using
them and they still retain most of the NEW appearance
@@BrokeLifeEU I thought you said you deleted the Temu app?
@@lesliewelch6551 Yes I have. However due to high interest I did buy a couple more things from Temu and Aliexpress for a future video.
Just to mention, if you open up the Parkside ratchet, you can just grind off a bit of plastic so it ignores the safety switch
Best mod I ever did to it! But can't endorse it as I am pretty certain it might void the warranty.
Certainly when the battery in the device is not easily replaceable -
waiting for the recharge to complete is inconvenient -
Thus one hast possess TWO devices -
One in use and one charging // or ready to use.
In some instances - depending on the job and the tool / device
in use - such as LED lighting it may be possible to connect a
PowerBank to extend the usable time - but that is not always
possible or convenient.
When the devices are not overly expensive - it would be prudent
to have TWO such devices -
Just like having two pair of underpants -
One to wash and one to wear
Separate / detachable batteries
that can be swapped with a fully-charged battery
are an obvious advantage -
Of course the tooling - design - engineering and manufacture
of such is quite expensive - and thus those devices come
with a higher price tag - and in most cases are a better choice.
Buying something that is cheap will bring temporary joy which will
wear off quickly and never be forgotten when the device fails.
However - when - buying a better quality more expensive reputable
brand device - the additional cost is forgotten as the device is
usable and performing well many years later.
I bought the parkside ratchet today, my firs x12 tool. I´m screwed, we all know how it goes once you buy into a battery platform, and i need some 3/8 tooling too, channels like yours don't help the addiction either ;)
If you want a bit more loosening torque you can let the tool spin in the air and then engage the bolt, probably not good for the tool but it works.
I am sorry about that! I would love to be able to stick to one battery platform and not spend any more on tools... That is why I made this channel so I have an excuse to buy more tools 😂
I know what you mean ---
I have both MAKITA and RYOBI
However there are adapter / converters available
so for example :
One could use a RYOBI / BOSCH battery on a MAKITA TOOL
(Also it should be noted that MAKITA have two types of
incompatible batteries.
MAKITA and BOSCH are almost identical in many respects
However I no longer use AliExpress as one is easily scammed
and those communist criminals refuse to refund the payment
any refuse to co-operate.
So I suggest do not spend more than one is willing to use.
Many have also been defrauded in such a way in the EU -
as my investigation has revealed -
In such a case - take the matter to the Chinese embassy
and submit a formal complaint with a claim fro refund
and compensation for LOST time.
TIME is more valuable than money
One can always recover money and earn more
TIME is irreplaceable -
You cannot wind the clock back to recover the time

I've purchased many tools such as woodworking squares, all are made of aluminum and all are perfectly square. Ive also purchased a few tool bags, drill bits, screwdriver bits and quite a few other types of tools and other various items. Only issue was with one of the drill bits, everything else was great.
Is this from Temu or from Lidl?
A very rusty rounded bolt and nuts 🔩 is the most difficult task to remove.
It's not the same as in wood.
Absolutely, although I felt these were not mean for rusty bolts. I am pretty sure they won't handle that task.
The only problem with the Temu tool is that the battery won't last. 2 batteries I had for the cheap one and went bad.. Now I have the Parkside
Agreed! Batteries from Temu/Aliexpress etc. are an unknown. And by that I mean I give them a couple of months before they start behaving like a paperweight or doorstop. Apart from that it was an exceptional ratchet!
The issue here is this :
(a) the motor is NOT brush-less - and thus demanding on power resources
(b) the battery is the most minimum capacity that the manufacturer can
get away with.
As one writer stated in another comment :
You get what you pay for
You cannot buy a new BENTLEY for the price of a VOLKS-WAGEN
The battery is DEAD after a few days because there is a constant
STANDBY voltage ( in addition that the battery capacity is very small )
The ON / OFF switch is electronically controlled and NOT a mechanical
switch
Thus when triggered it sends a 0 pulse to switch the device ON
Laptop computers operate the same way.
There is a 5 volt or 3.3 volt STANDBY voltage that is always ON -
and activates the laptop when the POWER button is pressed
When a Laptop is unused for an extended period of time and
not connected to a Charger - it too will -over time drain the
battery and it can also LOCK the battery so it will refuse to
recharge
The battery capacity is the reason why the device is priced so LOW
Depending on the device and ability to disassemble it -
one may be able to replace the Battery with a higher capacity battery.
Where that may be possible - it defeats the purpose
This is why it is better to study the specifications
and buy a higher quality respected product for a higher price.
You will be a lot happier in the long-term -
and a year later you will have forgotten the price you paid.

Yes, the Temu stuff is useful for as long as the battery is alive. After the battery or charger give up you need to wait about a month. Although I was surprised to find replacement batteries and chargers on Aliexpress and they are not too expensive at all.

Are the batteries interchangeable for the wrenches,
I've found long term, cheaper BATTERIES don't hold their discharge capacity to maintain the torque
Vrs Name brand tools (battery)
The Temu ratchet uses a specific type of battery that I have only seen on unknown branded tools so I don‘t expect too much out of them. For sure for prolonged work and life I would say the cheapest reasonable option is Parkside.
My Parkside battery rotary tool started smoking after 16 minutes of normal use. RUBBISH. Other rotary tools using the same way last years.
Yes, I can't truthfully claim Parkside have the best quality or do they have the best quality control. I guess they have to keep prices low somehow. That said the warranty and return policy for me at least make up for issues like this. Did you warranty/return it successfully?
@@BrokeLifeEU Haha you caught the troll out.
Great video. Any suggestions on where the Parkside ratchet can be bought online? It hasn't come up in Lidl yet where i am. Thanks.
Thank you so much! It is available on all Lidl onlines stores as far as I know. Also on places like eBay, however at about twice the price…

Parkside is just rebranded tools from various manufacturers. Someone tracked one of their drills down and it was made by Skil.
Yes, mostly OWIM, Grizzly tools and Komernaß these days.
Whats the name of the digital torque setter thing called?
A digital torque adaptor. I got it from Aliexpress so it has no brand or anything. It's just a model with a range from 0 to 340Nm.
What about the wear on the bolt extractors? If they are gone after 10 uses, they're not worth it still.
I have used one of the extractors about 5 times so I can say what it's like after 5 times. No noticeable difference from new. That said I used it to extract screws from wood. Your question still stands firmly if the extractors are used on rusty bolts.

And basically all other tools unfortunately. I just got an old drill made in Switzerland. Not a lot of these being made these days.
so you buy chinese goods from middlemen instead?
No, he just buys Chinese made tools repackaged in post Brexit Britain.
The parkside ratchet isn't the first edition, the first parkside ratchet had the same crappy button as the temu one and was slow as hell.
For some reason they are both an A1 version so they are both a first version. Difference is the one you are referring to is a PAR 10.8 A1, whereas this is the fist X12 ratchet so PAR 12 A1.
The temu cordless wrench doesnt come with charger does it
Comes with a USB charger
All batteries hold up very well they last as long as some dewalt cordless tools I have also
Good to know! Thank you for the feedback!
A winner tip here: Dont buy anything from Temu.
Can't lie. Solid tip!
Tried it once as an experiment. Got me $30 of junk. Deleted the App.
I was expecting to have a laugh with Temu tools but that ratchet shocked me.
This is spot on! Some Parkside models are not even worth the plastic used in them, whereas others are actually decent.

Sounds like a plan I may make use of 😂
A lot of crap from China isn't worth buying. :)
Thank you for backing me on the bolt extractors! I was really surprised they worked I did not expect that, however they are worth the money 100%
Bums
Wait. What?
I've read that Parkside tools are made in Germany by Einhell.
The old Parkside tools used to be, now they are made by Kompernaß, Grizzly tools, OWIM and some other I am guessing mainly in China.
Like your dry funny presentation 😂
Thank you so much! I try to make content I would find entertaining to watch. I hope it will only get better!
The comparison was demonstrated perfect well. The key word here is 'comparison' not a demo of max torque.
@@mmmmmlemons Thank you for understanding my idea!
@@mmmmmlemons But the breaking torque is not always proportional to the setting torque and can be quite random. He didn't even try it numerous times, so was it statistically significant.
Also, if you'd paid attention, he said (at 6:03) "let's find out their maximum unscrewing torque".
How do we get the ratchet for seven euros?
I was browsing the internet and got an add that said if I doenload the Temu app I can get this as my first purchase for €7. So that is how that took place.
@@BrokeLifeEU Brilliant. Thanks for your help.

Honestly..that Javn did better than the parkside
Yes, that is what was shocking about it. I did not even expect it to bw close and yet…
Though parkside are very good tools when they go wrong you cannot gat a replacement or reembursed and no spares..
Javn ratchet now on Ali for 35€, 5 day delivery gonna try one for the money..’.
At 35€ I think it is a good price. The only issue I have with it is the battery. I am not convinced it will stand the test of time. That test being no more than a couple of months long.
@@BrokeLifeEUa spare battery is not that expensive I think. Most Ali and Temu and Wish electronics have the same type. Only a few euros….
Yes, however lately I am having issues with tools from China which should come with batteries. Also the batteries themselves. New policy the sellers tell me, batteries can not be transported from China to Europe. So I would have to buy them from Europe at nearly the Parkside price.

€40 for that ratchet is not bad to be fair. I would still go with the Parkside just because I have loads of 12V parkside batteries and they are not bad at all. Also the Parkside has a warranty, whereas the Temu warranty I do not trust. But €40 is really not bad at all! Parkside or Temu tools?
by the way I don't know why, but most of the Parkside cabels included with tools are the only ones working with them.

@soldier9927 😅 I am going to try all of this as soon as I can! I am sure I have charged them with multiple USB C cables but am starting to question myself now! The easy-out, nut extractor is bogus on wood. The real test should be rusted up bolts from a car or truck.
Fair point although I am not sure anyone would try to use these on a bolt on a car or truck. These are for the smaller screws I think and that is why I tested them like I did. I don‘t think i can risk causing damage to a rusty nut/bolt on a car with these.

The only tool I am not a fan of is the grinder. I find it too weak and not well built. In terms of the other tools I have they were cheapter than the Parkside equivallents, however are much more difficult to find.
