I meant I can now watch 50% more content in the same block of time. i.e. if I sit down for an hour a day (excluding video load times and other transitional wastes of time) I could watch 90 minutes of content in that same hour; that being an increase of 50%. Gotta min-max that day.

Except apple doesn't really give you a choice. Since there is no audio jack, you HAVE to buy new wireless earbuds if you want to listen to music (unless you own a pair, which most people don't). The fact that Apple is trying to force you to buy their overpriced product speaks volumes about their ethics and business practices. I'll never understand why morons spend their money on overpriced garbage.

Anybody who actually cares about audio quality would never buy Bluetooth headphones in the first place. It's just a fashion item unless you really cant cope with a single thin wire.
Pretty sure bluetooth earbuds existed long before apple introduced the airpods.

because before apple decided to remove the standard 3.5mm jack (well no longer standard) these were for a particular consumer and no one else. Now with every other upcoming phone including samsung dropping the 3.5mm these things are no longer a niche market segment. Apple didn't' create them but they create an artificial demand for them out of thin air.
Samsung isn't removing the 3.5mm jack in the S8. It's confirmed to stay.
As usual, until apple introduces their version of someone else's idea, it didn't exist and was not needed. I have had a set of BT headphones for about 6 years. Mind you they are over the ear phones, they are comfortable & will run longer on a charge than I have ever had time to listen to music in one setting. And I don't see where the apple air buds look any less stupid than the other white ones that hung out of the ear like someone tore the wires off of a normal set of ear buds.

Usually not, I think it can look nice. The cinematographic problem here: B-rolls of a small product (earphones) with prominent, flashy colors on the nails does take away the viewer's focus from what should be the main object to look at. It is distracting.
Thus also why you see so many comments on the nails on this and previous videos. Would they be a less prominent color or less flashy pattern, like milk white or subtle pink, it would not trigger (as many) comments and be less distracting.

Depends on the speaker, you have to slow it down for accents or fast talkers, but usually 3x is totally comprehensible

Music videos don't make sense, but for anything informational, you're totally wasting your time if you don't watch >1x speed. I admit 3x is a bit extreme (I do it anyway), but 1.5x is pretty comfy

I can't say enough good things about the jaybird freedoms! There are so many options to make them fit in your ear, and they are the only pair of in-ears EVER to have done so with me. When fitted properly they will not come out at all, and they were the perfect buy for me!

Apple products "They're not that bad", the most honest way to describe them.
To be fair, the airpods are probably the best of their form factor.
All of the better sounding "earbuds" are IEMs, and actually go inside the ear canal to form a seal. That's why they have better bass. There aren't actually headphones with apple's form factor that actually sound better than the airpods.

I mean, apple has great build quality, somewhat more intuitive UI compared to windows, and almost never need troubleshooting. The downside: does less, costs more.

The thing about Apple products is that they're often the first of a category that is common knowledge among most people - yes, there were other products with these features before (including ones like Samsung's that didn't even get a mention here), but technically they weren't the ones that the immitators were copying.

Those Aukey-EPB4's broke after 2 weeks of light use for me. Just a warning for anyone thinking about it, you take that risk. This is just my personal experience, though.

Why does no one take into account that recommending in-ear solutions to people who use Earpods is likely useless given that not everyone finds earbuds comfortable? I can't stand ear-buds and no one bothers with good solutions that aren't earbuds. I'd love to get a good solution that aren't Apple branded for mobile audio, but no one else bothers to think outside of the earbud box.

You forget to mention the major point of difference. They are the only ones I’ve found that do not require you to insert those rubber thingys into your ear canal. As a long term wearable, this is much better for you ears, reducing ear wax build up and standing wave problems. Plus they give you more special awareness as you aren’t completely blocking the ear canal.

Entire premise of the video is silly. If you have an iPhone, you probably don't care much about the cost of the Bluetooth headphones. And if you have any other phone, then you shouldn't be getting the AirPods.

I recently got new wireless ear buds that are so great I'm suprised it wasn't on here. They were the Skullcandy Ink'd wireless. They have an 8 hour battery, sound great with noise isolating. It also has a light weight design. It is connected by a band which looks fine and you barely notice it, and if you don't like it I found it easy to hide. It also has volume buttons on one end of the band, that can also skip tracks. It also lets you know when your music gets to loud. It's easy to turn on and off, and easy to pair. I got it for $49.99, so check it out

honestly i hate canal-type earphones since they make my ears hurt so i guess in terms of design I'd have to go with the apple airpods since they actually feel comfortable when you wear them n it's not like music is directly blasting into your eardrums
Although there are multiple wireless earphones that sound better I specifically went with air pods because they are the most comfortable and the sound is ok

I came to the comments to say the exact same thing! There HAS to be a separation of the two styles so I can search Amazon without losing my mind! I want to hear someone calling my name while I pump up the volume, and I don't want to put dirty/lint wrapped rubber in my ear canal.

This channel is not particularly my favorite but they integrate adds way better than any other channel I've seen.
Kind of surprised to not see the Samsung ones here, given that they *predate* the AirPods. Admittedly they have plenty of caveats too, just surprised to not see them in the mix.
Clancy Wiggum is simple. The X are 200 can find it a bit cheaper,battery is below 3.5 hours,sound issues . So why make it look worse?. Also a lot of reviewers say they are way below the dash
Clancy Wiggum I'm sure you're referencing the Gear Icon X. But they missed the Level U and Level U Pro which are great. I've owned both and their fantastic, I greatly prefer the pros. But the standard U's styling would likely fit an existing AirPod customer. Plus their way cheaper

Being denied bass passages by apples AirPod should be a complaint you should take more seriously when u present these videos for us. Dismissing mediocrity as a mere "preference" as u did in your AirPod review video is intolerable. U should have raised more stink about that. In fact you stated in that review that the bass in the AirPods is "not overly done" as if thats a positive, only to turnaround in this video and prefer the headphones with better bass.
I had the Jaybird Freedoms and they sound great when you tweak them with the EQ app, it's a night and day difference, however for me I found them remarkably uncomfortable. Also if you get them use the foam ear plugs with them, they last me maybe a month or two, but again they make them sound so much better and they're more comfortable and make it so they won't ever fall out - at least for me. I've owned all the Jaybird headphones I know about, the X1, X2, X3 and the Freedom and I hate the Freedom and X3 because they're just not comfortable - meanwhile the X1 and X2's sound much much worse, but I can wear them for hours without any discomfort - and since I use them almost exclusively for podcasts and audio books, sound quality isn't a big deal.
Now please do a best per price bracket video of wired headsets. $25.00-$75.00, $100.00-$150.00 & $200.00+.

For those that are interested in the Aukey headphones like I was and can't find them, there's clones from TOTU on Amazon for $15-20 depending on color, they have the same audio chip and same housing, just one button is different shaped on the TOTU version, and they don't have the cover for the usb port
