I love her. She sings this so beautifully. It’s funny… I read all these comments about her, cutting her down, saying she’s a b+*ch, she’s too full of herself, etc. I love her. She seems relatable, stunning, confident and totally competent. For someone to be able to get up in front of people and sing like that, one has to be confident and sure of their talent. She’s the one up there bearing her soul and putting everything out there for others. What are rare gift and talent. It is very much appreciated and respected. There will always be haters and doubters. It’s a shame but in part they add fuel to the fire of success. The more people hate the more it fuels the flames of success. I had never heard of Carrie prior to this musical and I am glad I have the privilege to appreciate her, her voice and talent in delivering us such beautiful music in a great story. To be honest I’ve not heard the soundtrack version a lot so didn’t notice a difference personally (if I’d listened to the studio one more I’d probably hear it), but the character seems quite interesting so far.

theres a few haters in the comments who think carrie is overconfident. finland has a power metal band called battle beast.their singer is noora louhimo. she is not a small lady, yet she can wipe the floor with any of thse skinny supermodel pop stars. she is dubbed by many as the queen of metal. what im saying is talent shines through. so maybe carrie gets negative comments from keyboard warriors, possibly body shaming for example.maybe she doesnt meet the image that appeals to you, but the girl can sing! give her a chance. you need a pair of cannonballs in your slacks to get up on that stage and slay it every night. give her a chance! Totally agree!! It's supposed to be a new, re-imagined take on the story but all the songs are so basic. I love Carrie and ALW.. some of my favourite music is by him, but this sounds so dated compared to many shows out in the last decade. The 1,4 5 chords in this ballad (sung beautifully) are so dated and overdone...I will still give it a shot and go and see it but I hope there is some more interesting stuff in the score.
A bit of that song also reminded me of a bit in a Les Mis song...can't recall the titel though. Still, it is unique enough for me - great song, great performance!

By that I mean shout at them, change things at the last minute constantly and being angry that the team wasn't prepared for said changes, etc. Apparently he even went wild in the orchestra pit just throwing music sheets and stands and stuff.
@@Totorh03 That is not a nice working environment! I am an actor myself and everyone works together and we are all like a family kind of thing. There has of course been ocasiones where the director is irritated, but if this is true it cant be nice to work with him at all!

The team on and back stage is a family at least for the run of the show and no matter how frustrated you are you still have to be respectful.
