I think people underestimate the longevity of certain stars. Take Bron, KD, Curry, Lillard, Butler, kyrie, harden, butler, PG13, Kawhi, etc.: these guys were all stars around the time this was written and are still mostly top 20 guys. It’s not easy to take over those already at the top!
I was so high on Aaron Gordon this year as well. He'd improved consistently every year and looked like after that year he'd finally take the major jump with his shooting and athleticism coming together, but he's stayed about the same.
He is having his best season yet this year. He never reached that star player, but is a high quality role-player talent and even had some all-star buzz this season which is something a lot of guys never reach.
Honestly, as a Nuggets fan, I always loved AG at Orlando, so I was over the moon when he came over. Seriously think he's slept on this season. Been so solid.

But in all honesty the league is so talented right now that you could take any roster in the league and there is at least one player on it who you could argue belongs on this list... The depth of the entire league is so crazy... Literally half the teams think they got a shot at the title and there are no clear cut favorites to win it all.
I honestly feel like mpj could make this list if he could stay healthy. A 6’ 8” forward who can shoot the lights out and drive really well on a team like the nuggets could go far.
A lot of it is hindsight 20/20. There is a difference between a player with legit potential not panning out the way as expected (like with Simmons) or just being plain simply wrong with a dumb prediction, even at the time.

Steven Adams is underrated by casuals cos ppl only like points. Rebounds is the 2nd most important stat in basketball, and he's been an elite rebounder for his entire career basically. If you play 4 or 5, you know how good Adams is.
