Nuggets never had a great team. Jokic is just that great. This is a lottery team without him
Makes their championship more impressive because this roster is trash
@@EastunderMalone is a problem too. Play bench. Rotate lineups.
@@EastunderI wouldn’t say trash but they don’t have a good bench like they did last year. They basically had a 5 man rotation.
@@EastunderNo, it is not. It was good enough to win the championship last year, and everybody stepped up their game.
Murray BALLED out last year.. not so much this year
Running it back with a slightly worse team was never going to work with the current league parity
They got worse and then just decided they were okay with it. I will never understand this. Even with the overall brilliance of jokic this was never going to work. I thought it could have worked until I saw just how limited their playoff rotation was this year.

Limited?
Justin holiday, Braun, Reggie, Watson
They have bench bro.
It's just these bench are trash.
They need 1 back up center and 1 more reliable parameter shooter
I hope they can get those guys in the post season
yes instead of making the team better for a back to back, they make their bench trash. They are missing a player like bruce brown or jeff green.
Porter jr was a “little” disappointment? Are you serious! 120 mil for 6 points a game
Yeah, that’s a really bad take. MPJ is a glorified overpaid role-player. No way is he worth $38 million next year.
Yes, but he was crucial for Lakers series. Nah, it's not on him. Jamal was very bad in this playoff, and Malone's short rotation is a gambling. He overused starting 5. I never saw Jokic so tired...
he was already subpar on the finals last year missing a ton of 3s.
small game player at its finest.
@@milanradojkovic3818Malone is a bad coach. He's only good at yelling when they're not trying
@chauvintookaknee4blm268 if you said this two weeks ago i would have disagreed, but when he didnt rest Joker witha 20 point lead i was flabbergasted.
I'm still shocked they blew a 20-point lead in a game 7.
That was insane
So weird. Without Jokić and Murray these players are sus.
I’m not because Wolves have enough offensive power and defensive grit to make stops and get a lead.

The time is now to actually give Jokic some help, no offence to Murray. Your 2nd best player played more horroble games than good ones, you 3rd option was nowhere to be found the whole series. Plus, you got no bench cause they had the brilliant idea to let Brown and Green walk, and there's no back up center for Jokic to rest. It was a disaster waiting to happen, and you can't expect Jokic to constantly bail out the rest of the team.
Unfortunately, they couldn't keep Brown last year because of the financial rules for what Brown was worth on the market. One thing I did love about old school ball was that you could keep your role players for much longer. Now, you basically got to give you whole wallet to your top 3 or 4 players (or you can't even keep them) and keep juggling the rest of your roster. NBA has really shot itself in the foot as far as the fans are concerned.
Jordan is there but he doesn't even play lol he's just like Hasleem was for Miami the "keep the group together" guy, i guess.
Then you look at the other side and they had KAT, Reid and Gobert. They never had an answer for that.
@@kkbaby30I share the same thoughts. Last summer when I saw Bruce Brown gone and Reggie Jackson getting that contract I was really mad. This is basically killing the team bench altogether. I can’t understand why people think Denver is as strong as before. Fast food media really created a lot of ppl who don’t watch any games.
You are wrong, Murray was not incredible in the Lakers series. He had two great shots, but he was terrible most of the time. And even worse in this series. I'm not sure he's mentally tough
Right. Bruce Brown was one of the key to their successful championship run last year. Would have been different if he would have stayed.
It's shocking that Denver got as far as they did in this series given that it was just really Jokic carrying them all the way thru. Also, if Porter Jr. just shot his season average, I think this series would have been a cinch for Denver. They needed their mid and peripheral shooters to come thru because of the unfavourable matchup in the paint against the bigs of Minnesota, but their shooters completely dropped the ball. They couldn't make shots to save their lives. Shocking performance.
MPJ averaged 10 points in the playoffs. They need to get rid of him.
Man, they really blew it this year😂
They really did man
Ain’t you on twitter?

@@EastunderStop it 😂
They loss. It happens. They’re still champions. You can’t win ‘em all.
“Murray was incredible” in the Lakers series. Really? He was a disaster except for 2 game winners, that the Nuggets needed because he wasn’t producing the rest of the games. MPJ cannot create a shot or opportunity for himself. He seldom cut to the basket, and was unable to dribble around anyone to get to his spot. All that on top of missing open look after open look. And he was a liability on defense. He’s a low energy player that looks he feels sorry for himself when he’s having a bad game. This team needs at least one dog, an energy guy who’s good for consistent points but more importantly lighting a spark for their players with a big dunk or great defensive stop. This team has no edge right now and they come off soft.
Jokic and Murray being the only ones putting up points. 2v5 basketball. The whole supporting cast needs to get TRADED
That box score on the Nuggets was luke watching a movie Directors Cut subtitle notes.
MPJ 10 points a game is unacceptable on a max contract, that is 100% replaceable.
Not even Murray. he's on 40% fga and 31.3% for three in playoffs this year while averages only two free throws per game. That's below average for a max player
They should make a Trade for Caruso, Clarkson or Bogdanovic of Atlanta....they need that extra help from the Bench

I was really disappointed in the nuggest off-season. they did **nothing** to improve the team and it finally bit them.

they literally had a starting five and one bench player all season
Nadam se da ce ih Jokic napustiti.
@@TheMilchBroetchen not a single all-star, or all NBA team, all-defensive team, 6th man, nothing just Jokic
The Nuggets had too many bus riders and not enough drivers.
They missed Bruce Brown so much and even a Jeff Green type. But Bruce specifically for his energy, defense, fire and passion. Those Naz Reid and Kat put backs were key examples. Murray missed his box out assignment twice and nobody crashed the boards. Hell on Kat's put back Murray and KCP just stood there as KAT went right between them for the put back. The need some players with so edge and energy. Trade MPJ for a rim protecting athletic BIG and a ball handling wing with so some edge to them. MPJ is too inconsistent shooting and doesn't give you anything else if his shot is off to be making 34+ million.
Murray didn’t do a whole lot of anything in the forth like he was against the lakers.
They had Watson. Malone is dumb.
If you ask me Murry with this play is not worth to be 2rd option. That production is replaceable.
@@chauvintookaknee4blm268he should have played in that series

Aint no way bro out here saying mpj was a little bit of a dissapointment lmao bro was terrible this entire series hes a max player who no showed in 5 of the 7 games in this series if nuggets are smart they move him to get a forward who can do more then just a shooter thats the problem when shots not falling he provides nothing else
He ain't max no more. His contract avgs a little more than $35m a year.
@@drexlspivey3047 That's a max player contract.
NBA players are overpaid. It makes no sense that most teams are at their budget limit because of their salaries. There are players getting 35 million $ a year who never made the all star team.
Certain ones are, not all of them.
Why should you extend Murray when he has played so bad the whole playoff?
To please joker
You gotta re-sign KCP, I mean what are the alternatives?
Murray is the "backbone" of the team? Lol...man, they better go see a chiropractor then. Murray had had a couple of god-like playoff runs...other than that he's oft-injured and inconsistent...and when he's bad he screws up the whole team's offensive philosophy. A guy like Donovan Mitchell could have done the same thing Murray has in Denver (and probably put up better regular season numbers as well). People seem to forget Murray is around an 18pt career scorer....and he hasn't played more than 70 games in a season since 2019. Despite his injury issues he seems to come into every season with crap conditioning and is bent over holding his knees by the half in games not even halfway through a season. I don't expect any of that to improve as he gets older.
Weak bench.
No backup centre.
Murray was not good enough.
Porter ! What a letdown.
The management thought they would win again, and got found out.
Let's face it, it's time for Murray to go. Compared to Jokic,
his contribution to the team was very poor.
Better then mpj who i think makes even more
Nuggets are in a tough spot...without some moves (and they are limited) they are basically the same squad next year
the Nuggets are cooked if they dont make any moves. the west is gonna be real good. Denver needs a backup center, and a solid bench player tbh
And they would still be a really good team poised to make a run in the playoffs because they have Nikol Jokic who is great enough to beat 90% of teams in the NBA. Minnesota was just a perfect matchup for Denver
Denver budget 170 mil 3good players,wolves budget 140 mil 2 solid teams
Time for MPJ to go and for the Denver front office to truly go All In on get some guys who can actually contribute off the bench. You are just getting nothing outside of Jokic, Murray, and the occasional good night from KCP and Gordon who can be inconsistent.
He can't because he's under a contract. They won't be able to trade because his contract is way too high and he isn't marketable, and if they release him they take a massive hit on salary because of the guranteed money.
Didn't mpj shoot 50% from 3 against the lakers. You guys trippin
Murray needs to go as well. He’s as consistent as Taco Bell craps
@@supertrouperJC02 I think MPJ has room to improve in the off season, but before writing him off, the context of MPJ is important. His regular season and the series against LA were quite solid. On the other hand, this 2nd round with the Wolves was the Miami series all over again, if not worse. But I would contend that the Nuggets would not have won 57 games in the regular season without MPJ. His daggers occur when the Nuggets are running on all cylinders. Get him that, and either it won't matter so much if he takes a free fall in a playoff series, or he'll just turn out bo be his old sublime self.
@@rkma BS.hes bad for years
I don't understand the narrative that Denver has the best starting five in the game. No all stars beside Jokic, no defensive all nba players, bunch of solid average players with a guy who carry them hard for years now. Find me another team where one player leads the team in every statistical category by far margin. Points, rebounds, assists, steals and even blocks. I mean the guy who can't jump leads the team in blocks?!
Jokic needs some help and Denver need to make some trade if they want to stay relevant.
Was someone taking the under on MPJ’s stat line those last few games?
I was ready to turn that game off. I went to grab a beer and came back, and I'll be damned.
Was that an episode of Community? lol
They need a more defensive shooting guard and small forward . Who also can shoot open 3 pointers .
Nice job on the editing bro

I feel like MPJ is the Tobias Harris of Denver. Also, KCP, Gordon etc, are all fine..but they often have bad ganes at the same time 🤷🏻♂️ There's a bunch of problems..I kinda like that they don't rush and go deep into the shot clock, but by game 7, they became super predictable to the Twolves.
Tobias Harris is absolute trash. His game actually regresses backwards. The issue is the defense. Nobody else could shoot so the wolves leaves everyone else open. Mpj is still a good player and he's young, he's not Tobias Harris age who's at the end of his career. You can't panic and throw everything away. We just need to build to counter the wolves size. Nuggets won more games this year against a more competitive league over last year we went to a game 7 it's not like we got swept 😊
@@be4unvmeyou need depth and mpj is really your only option. At his wage he should be way more consistent. Getting outshot by multiple bench players people are calling crappy is a very bad look
Caruso would fit perfectly since he can be their primary ball handler when Jokic is resting then add a rim protector on their bench so they can create different match up for different team. Caruso can also play along side with Murray. Murray can focus on scoring and Caruso would be on the ball handling and defensive side.
Malone isn’t as good as everyone thinks he is. Although they won against the Lakers, they struggled throughout the series against them. They struggled against a play in team that had a 40 year old carrying. Lakers were terrible.
Lakers are trash in the reg season but they're a very good team still. AD and bron would give the wolves so much headache
I think only someone that don't know anything about the basketball would say that Lakers played bad in the playoffs. There could have been EASILY been a game 7 Lakers vs the Nuggets in the first round, easily. Lakers got PRIME AD on their team. And you can't ever forget that. And that "40 year old" is called LeBron James and he STILL averages some of the BEST numbers in this whole league. Lakers got SEVERAL REALLY talented players om their team. Including the young players and players in their prime. If they kept their centers from the 2020 champions days Lakers would have won at least one more title. AT LEAST. Maybe more! It's foolish to think about Lakers like some had team. Give them a couple of solid CENTERS they will be fighting for the finals next season.
I see guys like Braun, Watson, strawther as being in house developmental guys the nuggets have so that they can afford to lose a KCP or MPJ and have someone who can replace them at an affordable price and with some years in the developmental chamber. With the new CBA I feel like this is smart strategy
They have some great young guys, or at least time will tell
They were up by a lot, but they decided to keep chucking threes instead of killing the clock and scoring in the paint. I love the nuggets but i have no idea what they were thinking tbh
Low IQ. Got ball to joker outside late so he chucked. Malone no play calling. Played 🃏 Murray way too much
You can't score in the paint against Minnesota; are you a casual?
I'd rather have OG than Porter. I'd like to go after Caruso, Plumblee, and if Brown's team option is declined, bring him back. Let KCP walk, start Braun. So Gordon, OG, Jokic, Murray, Braun with a rotation of Caruso, Plumblee, and Brown.
Time to break up the team. Get rid of everyone but Jokic, Gordon, and Murray... and keep Murray on a short leash until he proves he's not made of glass.
until this coach, who let his team lose for the 20th time this season, despite leading by 20 points, is gone, the nuggets have no future...
he can freely take the first five, except gordon and jokic with him as well
Lol mad serb. But yeah he's not good. Don't listen to TNT. They're low IQ. Funny how he can't call up a play wo joker to get points lol. Let Reggie and Jamal over dribble and Chuck
My take exactly. Not resting Joker with a 20 point lead is criminal. Not getting the bench fired up with such a margin is beyond stupid.
Lol. He cost then w no Watson and Braun. No bigs. No srrawther for shooting. Give em a bit of time to rest and test waters

At 5:25 Murray also getting hurt. He needs his legs if he is going to continue to have a jumper and means to the baskets.
Series was lost by Malone imo. Minnesota could easily guard them when they doubled Jokic post ups esp when they forced him to catch it 15-18 ft out or even above the 3pt line. They went away from DHO/PnR w Jokic which nobody can guard
Agreed. The Nuggets dominated the first half. Minnesota was down by 20 and in the second half they completely turned the game around. In his interview Malone didn’t know why that happened. He had to look at the film he said. He got out coached.
Facts Malone was out coached this entire series and paired that with no bench and 3/5 starters not even in double digit scoring is a recipe for disaster. I'm traded MPJ and I think KCP leaves. This was embarrassing but I think this snapped the Nuggets back to reality.
What about Porter Jr, 2026 1st Rd pick and a role player for Lavine and Vuc or another player not named DeMar. Nuggest need more scoring, bench and the Bulls need a young shooter to put along Coby and Ayo. Definitely are going to be several insults 🤣
Plank that coaching staff. And plank those cheerleaders and nus riders. 9 players touched the court. Only 2 of them scored more than 7pts.
Murray wasnt good at all in the first round, he just had great moments.
totally agree with you
I think that if KCP switch with Bogi from Hawks would be great. He is not as great in defense as KCP, but can be improved, but is more consistent shooter and faster in dribble and can, to some degree, play as a PG to handle ball while Murray is resting.
A little late for a wakeup call. The wakeup call should have been when they couldn't beat the lowly Spurs to clinch the #1 seed. The call should have come when they were down double digits in basically every game of the 1st round against a barely playoff-level team. It should have come when they were down 0-2 after losing both home games. If they didn't get the message after losing by 45-points, then I don't think anyone is going to answer.
All those things happened in the past few weeks. What were they supposed to do? Sign another all-star in the middle of the playoffs?
😂😂what were you going to do about that at the end of the season. I dont think you understand how that works
Keep the core, grab a couple of role players and run it back. There is no reason this team can't win again.
I could be wrong but i don't see how they could trade low cost young players and low value draft picks for established players who would cost more. Especially when I keep hearing how restrictive the new cba is for luxury tax teams.
They need to develop the young players they have into productive players or move players that are actually getting paid, MPJ or AG, for more assets.
But yeah I agree that they should learn from the warriors and go more towards compete and contend now. Don’t sell all your future but trying to do both the rebuild/young player thing and the old core isn’t it.
Don’t think the Nuggets need wholesale changes. They do need to refresh their regular season philosophy - staggered lineups, using the entire roster during the year. Denver can get back a $9M+ difference-maker to bolster the bench when they trade Zeke Nnaji.
Being focused on winning the 1st half of the game ruined the momentum which was the strength of the Nuggets. They win because they are better in the 2nd half of the game when their opponent is depleted.
As soon as they focused on the 1st half of the game they were playing the others teams' games and lost.
Obviously a championship team is a good team, but only 3 times in 20 years have teams won it back to back. A team that hadn't EVER won the title was suddenly going to do it again😅?
It is disappointing to see them out of the playoffs. Was looking forward to them at least making the WCF.
It goes to show the league today is more difficult to win championships consecutively.

The nuggets have the perfect bench player who would've won them the series. Jay Huff is the guy. He was the g league's defensive player of the year and his style is a lot like a combination of Kat and Rudy.

It still feels rigged. How are they losing a 20 point lead in game 7. How do they go from a 3 win streak, on convincing leads, to losing 2x in a row?
I think you're wrong in a very important part, Tim Connelly created the championship team and current office they did nothing after losing Brown and Green, so that "great front office" is debatable.
In the game 6 loss, all I saw from the Nuggets was complacency. To me, it looked like they played that game with swagger instead of playing that game with the desire to win. It was horrible to watch. They should have played their heart out in game 6 to close it out but instead resulted in a game 7 home loss.
Nuggets need to get KD.
Uh, no. They're already deep into the luxury tax. His contract would hurt them more.
Denver just needs scorers off the bench. They used to have Monte Beasley Barton Mason plumdog now bench is very inconsistent with not really go to guy for scoring. I hope we add someone in off-season
Well done

Malone, tried to stomp out the wolves when they were up 20, playing for a low probability, the prudent play in that moment should have been to pull Jokić, let him get some rest, if they comeback he would have the legs to play, instead Jokić got tired the wolves cameback and now you are stuck between a rock and a hard place.
i think the rookie contracts are gonna be more and more important for luxury tax teams
proven role players' contracts are too high for teams like that
and trades get harder cause they can't add up multiple smaller contracts to trade for one
Surprised Denver hasnt fired the coach! Seems its the trend in the NBA!
The nuggets must reshuffle that roster as those other role players don't always show up in the playoffs where it matters most.

Need to prioritize athelticism since everyone in the west are seem getting more atheltic at the top and to further hide jokic lack of athelticism so that his prime window last longer
Theyre gonna have to trade MPJ, he played like cheeks this series. Reliable depth is their biggest need. Specifically in the big (so Jokic can actually rest) and another shot creator (when murray is struggling). I actually thought Demar woulda worked wonders for them in this series when they desperately couldnt buy a bucket. But if they make a trade, expect it to center around MPJ to bring in a few players

This is the take I'm riding with. Alex Caruso on the Nuggets would EAT
Their defense is weak, they're just hoping the opponent misses. Their defense appeared porous and uncoordinated during the game.
lets go mavs!
We know Jokic took the team this far, Murray is a bit inconsistent! The rest of the team is soft, they need a strong body to go inside against a team like MN who gets away with elbows. Last night MN 30 Free Throws - Nuggets 16!!!!!!!
Mikal Bridges for KCP
If thier time is now.. Trade MPJ and sign PG3. That dude would have a hay day with them collapsing on Jokic and him kicking him 3 balls to bury. I almost wonder if Harden could be happy in a role where he gets plenty of spot to pick and attack the d from
No Bruce Brown and Unc Green messed them up
How are they a good front office when like you pointed out they're already way into luxury tax territory, and they have just ONE all-star on the roster? We saw exactly what this roster was in Game 7, where outside of Murray and Jokic the entire Denver team gave them 21 points on 28% shooting. 69 pts from Jokic and Murray on 47%. And they still lost. And honestly, if Jokic didn't have to play 46 minutes he wouldn't have been gassed in the 4th and they probably still win.
Mikal bridges is untouchable
Why is Alex Rodriguez pumped? Didn't he lose the ownership bid?
Lol yeah I was confused about that as well
Its a battle for the court room now.
True about the bench depth. They need that extra punch from the bench, they need a shooter from the bench that can give them 15-20 points 5 assists and a big that can to 10 pts 8 rebs and a vet wing defender (someone with exp that can guide a young bench)
And find someone that can light a fire under mpj and jokic
Caruso on the nuggets would be sick but he ain't leaving Chicago
Already have Braun and Watson. They need a guy who can run point and involve others for good looks
Josh Krienke looks incompetent so this is it, Joker will never win a chip again he's Giannis now
unpopular opinion but this blown lead and others like it are because of the addiction to the 3pt shot. just because you have a wide open 3 doesn't mean you have to take it, especially if you're up by 20. to me, the players would rather gamble on blowing a team out by 40 than slowly choke a team out through high percentage 2 pointers. players just get lazy and start chucking them up. all the nuance in basketball had been removed. watching your team brick three after three ruins the momentum and confidence of the team. however, the midrange has been demonized so i doubt it'll go away anytime soon.
I actually agree with this take. Teams are more focused on blowing out their opponent rather than making the smart plays to secure the win when they're already up big
eh, Malone one of the best coaches in the league? not sure about that...
PS. Also, there shouldn't need to be a wake up call, it's their job to be aggressive on the market ALL the time. Oh, and MPJ... hopefully he can learn some basketball this summer
Kevin Love, then 1 good trade
Love is washed, he's not going to help them
all your discussion may be accurate in terms of financing and trade rules etc. but without some big changes-given the improvements and level around the league, you're way too optimistic-even with Jokic. Murray can be great, but often injured, and is very erratic, inconsistent as are the other starters. Cheap ownership didn't get replacements for Brown and Green-boy did they miss them. Weak inexperienced bench. No backup for Jokic no other real big. What is Deandre Jorden even doing there? Find another competent guard, some kind of rebounding center/forward, and one reliable bench player-they will be contenders-but without that...

Like I said, in 2024 the Denver Nuggets are a good team. They just obviously weren’t the best team.

Bucks and Nuggets in similar spots after these playoffs
Bucks were winning wo Gianni's lol. They have a winning record wo him. Then they won wo Dame lol
@@chauvintookaknee4blm268If you're trying to imply that the Bucks are better without Giannis or Dame, you're wrong.
Jamal was far from incredible against la..if it was not fir those 2 game win shot he was very bad for the money he is paid
This take is bad. The Wolves aren't kryptonite. The Denver GM decided to rebuild the bench on the cheap over the offseason so he knew it lacked depth. That meant the starters being run ragged. The starters attitude went with it and they were inconsistent and blowing leads. You say it like this was the first time. Refer to the Spurs game late in the regular season. Same exact thing. You don't know squat about this team.
Joker is the only good player in that team. This is not hate. This is real talk. Denver nuggets is a crap team without joker. Everyone in that rooster was inconsistent. They keep tellin jamal is a superstar just because he making clutch shot when its actually proved to be just luck like mpj. Im so disappointed they blew a 20 point lead. After the disrespect in game 6. They are crap team beside joker and the coach malone.
Fact: Porter Jr was a no show two playoffs in a row. Trade him.
